This place is awesome and right inside Firewheel Garland! My husband and I were craving seafood/Cajun in our area and came across this place and we were SO glad to have found it! The restaurant is open and spacious and they have such unique wall decor and photos of people from all over. The food seasoning was great and the fried items were perfection! Love their sauces and everything tasted great. It's rare to find places like this in Dallas with game meats for us and we enjoyed our experience and trying something new! Service was helpful and quick and staff was very friendly. Would recommend!

We were looking for a restaurant that wouldn't be an hour drive or that would cost an arm. This place was perfect. Food was perfectly seasoned and not salty. We ordered at the counter and they gave me a buzzer for pickup whenever the food is ready. Drink and sauce station to the right. Seat yourself kind of environment. Walls were decorated with pictures and fish. Huge parking lot in the front to choose from.

I think I need to go back and try in person va Uber eats. Red snapper and salmon were not great. Food was extremely cold and soggy.

A seafood favorite. Flying Fish has an atmosphere like it's next door to a fish camp on the lake. Fried or grilled, the catfish is delicious. Shrimp, oysters, crawfish, and sides are prepared well. The cole slaw has a new recipe you must try. It's chopped and diced fine to a perfect consistency. Nice selection of beer, wine, and margaritas. I recommend joining the free Grub Club online. Every month you get a BOGO coupon. If there are two of you that join then double your pleasure. See you there !

Been a while since coming to a Babe's but so glad I returned last night! I was needing some good…read morehome style country cooking and I came to the right place! Walked in to a friendly hostess and was seated rather quickly. Had a homey feel with wait staff bustling around delivering fresh chicken and veggies to various tables. After we were seated Nathan greeted us and explained the menu, and returned with our drinks and big bowl of Salad w/Italian dressing and homemade biscuits. The salad was fresh/crisp and the biscuits w/honey, oh my melt in your mouth goodness! I ordered the catfish. Oh so light and crisp coating of cornmeal and fried to perfection. My husband got the chicken fried steak. Nice light coating and fork tender to cut. Topped with the creamy white gravy made it so good:) All the veggies, salad and biscuits you can eat with a protein of choice (5 to choose from), makes a great, fairly inexpensive night out This is a nice family friendly place and worth a trip! Will definitely return.

First Babe's Chicken experience was solid! Wouldn't be my first choice to return to but the value…read moreisn't terrible. The good: servers were super nice and we were able to get enough tables added to one of the long strips to fit about 20 folks altogether. We never wanted for anything, and their biscuits were delicious with honey. I also enjoyed the chicken fried steak quite a bit, especially with gravy drizzled over, and the portions for entrees were huge. The mediocre: obviously the business model is generous with sides but it's clear most of them are canned/not made from scratch. Creamed corn was pretty runny but still one of the tastier options. Green beans were quite mushy, and the beans were super watery as well. Conversely the mashed potatoes were SUPER thick and therefore hard to eat a lot of, even when mixed with the gravy. Others mentioned that the fried chicken was pretty salty. My husband was able to finish off the chicken fried steak I had leftover when I brought it home, which was nice. $25-ish after tax and tip to feed two adults is pretty good in this economy.

Chicken-fried brisket is the star of the show here, and it's every bit as legendary as the hype…read moresuggests. I went specifically for their signature dish (the one they proudly call themselves the "Home of the Chicken Fried Brisket"), and it delivered exactly what everyone raves about. They take a thick, oak-smoked brisket slice--already juicy, tender, and loaded with smoky flavor and perfect bark--then coat it in a craft-beer batter and fry it up. The crust comes out shatter-crisp and golden, never greasy or soggy, while the brisket inside stays beefy and moist. That peppery burnt-end gravy poured over the top is rich, savory, and ties everything together beautifully with a scoop of skin-on mashed potatoes on the side. It's pure Texas comfort food genius--smoky BBQ meets Southern fried steak in the best possible way. I'd order it again in a heartbeat (it's a Tuesday special or weekend brunch treat, so plan accordingly). The rest of the BBQ holds up just as strong. Their regular brisket (flat and point) is consistently juicy, tender, and smoky with that killer bark everyone mentions. Sides and other meats are solid too--no weak links. The house beers are fantastic and pair perfectly with the rich, smoky food (the rustic, woodsy vibe in the historic downtown Garland spot makes it even better for lingering over a pint). Service is friendly and the whole place just feels welcoming. If you're in Garland or nearby and love bold Texas BBQ with a creative twist, Intrinsic is a must. The chicken-fried brisket alone is worth the trip--don't sleep on it! Highly recommend for anyone who wants great smoked meats, great beer, and something uniquely delicious

Meanwhile I was given looks by the 2 girls up front as if I was lying. They refunded me but that's 16 miles for this, i might as well went to soulmans for this hassle. Now it's almost an hour after my original order and I'm still waiting on a corn dog. I guess I'm done here after this, I always order for the family. I don't care for the food taste now since it's been an hour waiting and I still gotta drive home to cold food. Thanks. Edit: I paid for extra buns, they were useless when I got home. That's Stolen 2$ Baked potato was not finished and still chunky when attempted to mix everything. 8$ for undercooked potato. On top of all that, you will NOT get BBq sauce at all. I will not pay for it, ANY "bbq joint" worth their salt has bbq sauce, but not even 1 cup? I try to support local and I've been here more than a few times with family order each time. That's done for, I'm going to Soulmans from now on. Waste your time and money if you want, I'm gonna be smart.
