    Gluten free dessert special
    Anastasia D.

Cozy, fancy (for the area) restaurant, with gluten free options, despite being Italian cuisine, and a decent cocktail selection. Service was slow and mediocre, which would be my only gripe, but otherwise was a very pleasant experience, fresh food, and a delicious GF dessert torte. One of the only places open until 9pm in this sleepy town, and probably the only "fancy" bar if that's what you are looking for.

Chanced on this spot in Paonia, CO. It was a terrific surprise. Some of the best food ever in a delightful setting--including outdoor dining. And the bar man was great!

Flying Fork was a fantastic restaurant, delicious food and outdoor garden seating but currently is closed. The building is for rent.

Delightful dining venue with both indoor and outdoor seating. The small bar is charming and a source of great cocktails.

Definitely a five star experience *chefs kiss*…read more They do service by name here so you know that it is personable and that you're not getting someone else's order. The workers are very friendly and work to make your experience the best. The establishment itself is fairly small and can feel a bit crowed but they do what they can with the space that they have. The Elk Tartare was a new dish for me and I don't have any complaints about it, very well made. But the Cured Duck Breast is what I came for, and it did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly and complimented well with the green pico. If you have a chance to try Bin 707, I recommend you do it! Very well worth.

We both enjoyed a bottle of wine from a local Colorado outfit, a nice Pinot noir, and my wife had a burger, which is what the place is known for. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and friendly. The burger was pretty good as expected. I'm a big fan of duck so that's what I went with and going down it tasted pretty good but later than night it was clear I developed food poisoning and was up most of the night regretting my decisions. My wife and I shared the same meals and drinks throughout the day with the exception of dinner so it was evident the duck was the culprit. Unfortunate, but I'd recommend sticking with the burgers if you go.

Our experience at Meat & Cheese in Aspen was disappointing from beginning to end…read more To start with, the food was mediocre in every sense. The quality did not justify the prices, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing we ordered stood out. Unfortunately, what happened afterward was far worse. My wife accidentally left behind a shopping bag containing a brand new pair of sunglasses she had purchased earlier that day. When she returned to retrieve them, our interaction with a server named Carson was deeply disappointing. Instead of simply confirming ownership in a courteous and professional manner, Carson repeatedly questioned whether the sunglasses were actually hers. He kept emphasizing that they were brand new and worth around $600, making it clear that he found it difficult to believe they belonged to her. It was impossible not to feel that she was being judged based solely on her appearance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verifying ownership of a valuable item. In fact, we appreciate businesses that take lost property seriously. What is unacceptable is allowing assumptions and stereotypes to influence how customers are treated. One lesson worth remembering is that genuine elegance and long established wealth rarely need to announce themselves. Those who have had the privilege of success across generations often feel no need to advertise it with designer logos or outward displays. True class is reflected in education, humility, confidence, and, above all, in the way people treat others. Ironically, Carson's assumptions said far more about his own judgment than they did about my wife. No customer should ever be made to feel that they need to "look wealthy" in order to be treated with respect. We hope management addresses this issue seriously. The mediocre food was forgettable. Being judged and treated with prejudice is not. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and dignity, regardless of how they are dressed or what assumptions someone chooses to make about them.

Atmosphere: The restaurant is located at the end of a state park past a trailer park, don't let the entrance fool you. They had plenty of parking. There is ONLY outdoor seating so keep that in mind, especially during the heat of the summer. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. They have a lovely outdoor seating area with beautiful view of the mountains and you can look at their small garden. Service: The service was great. Our food was brought promptly and everyone we encountered was friendly. Food: The food was AMAZING. I live in Tampa, Florida and this chef can easily compete with professional chefs in Tampa. The food was soooo good. The chef changes the mean each week and cooks based off what's available. The chef puts love into his food and it shows. We tried the 'Baked Feta' appetizer which was so good. It came with crostini and purslane. I've never eaten purslane before but it was so good. I had their 'Bone Marrow Pasta' and it was AMAZING. The pasta is homemade. My husband had their 'Smoked Salmon Grower Bowl' and loved it. They must smoke the salmon themselves because it did not look store bought. For dessert, we got their last slice of 'Apricot Blueberry Pie', the piece came with homemade vanilla ice cream. It was soo good. I can't say enough good things about our dinner here. We came here around 5:30, on a Monday evening, and it was very busy by the time we left at 7 pm. I recommend come right when they open because they only cook items on the menu until they're gone.
