    Gluten free dessert special
    Anastasia D.

Cozy, fancy (for the area) restaurant, with gluten free options, despite being Italian cuisine, and a decent cocktail selection. Service was slow and mediocre, which would be my only gripe, but otherwise was a very pleasant experience, fresh food, and a delicious GF dessert torte. One of the only places open until 9pm in this sleepy town, and probably the only "fancy" bar if that's what you are looking for.

Chanced on this spot in Paonia, CO. It was a terrific surprise. Some of the best food ever in a delightful setting--including outdoor dining. And the bar man was great!

Kristen was incredibly sweet, thoughtful, and attentive. We enjoyed several private events at the winery throughout the weekend, and everything was beautifully done. The food was delicious and thoughtfully paired with a variety of wines from their collection. Even though the winery was buzzing with activity, the West family and staff were such amazing hosts. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel as though, in a room full of people, we were the most important guests there. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this family and their beautiful vineyard. Their attention to detail was impressive. While the wine was delicious, it was Kristen, her family, and the team who truly made our weekend fun, relaxing, and memorable. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Thank you so much for everything you did to make our trip so special. We absolutely loved our experience and will definitely be back!

Our experience at Meat & Cheese in Aspen was disappointing from beginning to end…read more To start with, the food was mediocre in every sense. The quality did not justify the prices, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing we ordered stood out. Unfortunately, what happened afterward was far worse. My wife accidentally left behind a shopping bag containing a brand new pair of sunglasses she had purchased earlier that day. When she returned to retrieve them, our interaction with a server named Carson was deeply disappointing. Instead of simply confirming ownership in a courteous and professional manner, Carson repeatedly questioned whether the sunglasses were actually hers. He kept emphasizing that they were brand new and worth around $600, making it clear that he found it difficult to believe they belonged to her. It was impossible not to feel that she was being judged based solely on her appearance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verifying ownership of a valuable item. In fact, we appreciate businesses that take lost property seriously. What is unacceptable is allowing assumptions and stereotypes to influence how customers are treated. One lesson worth remembering is that genuine elegance and long established wealth rarely need to announce themselves. Those who have had the privilege of success across generations often feel no need to advertise it with designer logos or outward displays. True class is reflected in education, humility, confidence, and, above all, in the way people treat others. Ironically, Carson's assumptions said far more about his own judgment than they did about my wife. No customer should ever be made to feel that they need to "look wealthy" in order to be treated with respect. We hope management addresses this issue seriously. The mediocre food was forgettable. Being judged and treated with prejudice is not. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and dignity, regardless of how they are dressed or what assumptions someone chooses to make about them.

They don't have air conditioning, but you can sit inside, but really dark and a little dingy but kind of cool. Of course we did sit outside. They had a really excellent refreshing cocktail. I had some Colorado Lamb and all of their food could be served with linen and Crystal in a formal dining room. Seriously... Don't let the curb appeal drive you away from this place because the food is great and the people were really nice. Met Joe by chance several years ago when he first opened and was impressed both by his personality and his eagerness to have us come visit, sow we did. It was an adventure in cuisine then and has been on each visit. I was happy to see the growth in both the number of tables, patrons and the increased menu. There were 6 of us and each enjoyed their entree and the desert. The service was excellent and the personel were superb in their care of the patrons. Joe seemed to know a large number of them and amazingly rememberd me from last year and greeted my parents asking after them. I highly recommend this lovely place, especially if you are looking for some delicious and adventerous food. Again, a great place to spend a couple of hours with good friends. Rich Hunt Oregon
