A Hidden Gem Inside 1718 Brewing…read more- Must-Try! Marauder's Kitchen just took over the food space at 1718 Brewing Company, and we were so pleasantly surprised by how fantastic their food is! Yesterday I had the oyster po' boy with coleslaw-perfectly fried oysters, fresh toppings, and a flavorful remoulade that brought it all together. Today I came back for the fish tacos with pineapple and slaw, and they're equally delicious-fresh, light, and full of flavor. The portions are generous, everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the menu pairs perfectly with the beer from 1718. The team was friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has that laid-back island charm. If you're in Ocracoke --don't miss this place. We'll definitely be back!

The rest of the food and drinks: the margarita was actually really good! We got a tuna sandwich and mahi tacos and they were both very good! If it hadn't been for the bad oysters, we would have given this place a 5.

The grilled fish sandwich was tasty and a good size except they left the skin on which I know a lot of people like but not me.

I highly recommend Dajio Restaurant. The meal was excellent. I had the blackened ahi on a salad. It was fresh and perfectly cooked. There's a decent but minimal selection of wines by the glass, and I went with a Sauvignon Blanc that paired perfectly. Most of the wines have good ratings by the major wine reviewers. Service was outstanding. The server had that classic beach-town ease (local or seasonal) but really knew the menu and did a great job. At one point, a woman who appeared to be management stopped by the table to check in. When she asked how things were, my answer was simple: "Incredible." The atmosphere is exactly right, relaxed but still polished, with just the right amount of energy without feeling crowded or chaotic. That balance is harder to get right than people think, and they've nailed it. I don't hand out compliments lightly, but this place delivers. Simple, fresh food, executed properly. No gimmicks, no shortcuts. This is absolutely a place you should try if you're in Ocracoke. I'll be back.

There are tables and chairs with umbrellas outside, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy lunch before heading to the beach. They're open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM and closed Sunday and Monday, so plan ahead because this popular spot definitely draws a crowd.
