I really hate to put this out there. I went in to get a sandwich from the deli from the Raleys in…read moreAuburn, CA. I was there for a few minutes and asked the young man for a turkey sandwich. He looked at me and another guy and said "who was here first". We both stated I was there first and I started to say that I wanted to order a turkey sandwich. The young man behind the counter interrupted me and said "fill out that paper and put it there" as he was pointing to the counter. As I was doing so, he stated to the other guy "what are you getting, I'll get that started". Nice gesture to the other guy. Then, I completed my sandwich request form and put it exactly where the young man told me to. Behind a few others walked up, completed their sandwich request form and placed them next to mine. One by one, other sandwich request were completed until myself and someone else asked about my sandwich. It was only after a white lady was in unison with me and asked about my sandwich, did someone take my sandwich request form and completed it. Oh! Did I mention that most everyone else there was white in color? As i finally received my sandwich, I went to the self checkout to pay for my sandwich. After I paid for my sandwich, there was a lady there by the name of Terri. I asked Terri if there was a manager that I could speak to. Terri immediately stated "I'm a manager". I told her my complaint and Terri immediately stated I was lying. Not only that Terri asked me "did you pay for that"? As I had my sandwich in hand, I stated "yes, I paid for this, here is my receipt". I've shopped Raley's and Bel Air for years. I am a loyal customer and have been for a very long time. I have never felt that type of treatment from Raley's and Bel Air. I expect that from places but not from there. Not from there. Here is a picture of the guy at Raley's that treated me so well.

Grossly over priced, no inventory, and their employees are very rude. I just went to buy Christmas dinner there. They had no turkey, no stuffing, no gravy. I'm at a loss 6 days before Christmas??!!! It's time to part ways with an old friend wondering what the hell happened to you.

I am so a frequent flyer at this safeway location. Rarely am I here early in the morning, but if I…read moream, I am tempted to grab a coffee from the Starbucks conveniently located just inside the doors on the left side of the store. On my recent visit, I was inspired my a Yelp Elite Event at Belly Barbecue in Folsom. On a previous visit, I picked up some tri-tip... just an awesome tip *do not buy the untrimmed tri-tip. It may even be at a lower price, but there is honestly there is so much fat to take off of it, if you like to trim your meat, you will be disappointed with the end result. Just buy the trimmed meat. They're bigger, too! On this visit, I picked up pork spare ribs at the good price of $5 for every 2 pounds. The rack comes out to around $9-$13+. Some of them are frozen, but that's ok. So be sure to plan ahead when buying these. Next, I decided on what sides I wanted with this bbq tray I was inspired to make. I decided on the loose bulk green beans. I grabbed a red onion to add to them and I have the garlic at home. Who doesn't like tri-colored pasta?? Well shame on you if you don't!! While I'm the produce section, I grabbed cherry tomatoes. I usually stick with the Briella brand of tri-colored noodles. A Best Foods mayo that was on sale for $3.50 each (there was a limit of 2). I also got the black olives and artichoke hearts in the same aisle. Don't forget to pick up Wishbone's Italian dressing.. it just goes best with this pasta salad. Onto dairy!! I like to add pepper jack and medium cheddar cheeses.. cubed.. and finally, my secret ingredient... Mrs. Dash! Shhhhh! Since I cook and bake by taste, I couldn't give you any exact measurements, but trust the process and experiment and taste as you go... I was helped today by Terri. I have had quite a few amazing conversations with Terri, who also loves to cook. He is always smiling when I see him. He has picked things off the top shelf for me, walked out with me to load up my groceries.. a true honest hard worker here at Safeway. Be sure to tell him hello if you get a chance! He is always there buzzing around this beautiful clean store. My bbq tray turned out fan-fricken-tastic. All of my ingredients were from Safeway in my picture below. My bbq sauce was Kinders brand, their medium bbq flavor was the perfect finishing touch on these ribs!

The wife had me stop here on our way to friends' house in North Auburn on July 4th for a party. We didn't want to drag ice cream and cold fruits up from the valley and have everything melt and get warm so this was the perfect stop. This store looks pretty new. It's pretty much like all the other Safeway which is our main go to supermarket. We got the ice cream and cherries we were bringing to the potluck and then we were on our way. The parking lot is plenty big, shared with a Famous Footwear on one side and a Ross store on the other, so no problem finding spots. All in all, a well kept and spacious store with plenty of stock and fairly friendly staff. Probably a local favorite for stocking up in more hazardous weather condition seasons without having to go all the way down to Rocklin for Costco.

I usually come here to pick up the peanut butter cookies they make fresh everyday from their bakery. However, I tried to go up the aisles to see if I could find something I couldn't find anywhere else. All their items are unique from the beer and ciders they carry down to the frozen foods. They source local organic and sustainable foods whenever they can. "Since 1976 they've been building a sustainable and equitable food system that supports healthy people, animals and the environment. When you spend your dollars at The Patch, you contribute to a thriving local economy and a kinder, more resilient world" ~From their web page They also have a fresh food and a hot food self serve section. I haven't tried it, but everything looks delicious! I did get to try a smoothie and those are super healthy and delicious as well. When I got up to check out, the employees were so wonderful and told me about their program you can partake in. I was definite interested, so she gave me a card with some info on it.... I can't wait to come back and pick up those peanut butter cookies!!!!
