Gotta start off by giving the GOAT of schmears a shoutout.. the Mango Schmear 5/5... Burgers here…read moreare always kind of trash.. idk 2 maybe 3/5 stars. Went with the wagyu smash burger this time.. was greasy as ever and the bottom part of my bun was soaked and soggy/falling apart by the time I was eating it.. honestly kind of trash.. still tasted okay but not much flavor.. sweet potato fries were okay. a big enough portion to share with someone else. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 2 or 3 is directly because of one item and one item only... the mango schmear... some of the best damn schmear I've ever had. I always come for the schmear and leave with a burger that disappoints me.. the smear always wins me over though.. Lots of other good salsas/spreads/aiolis but the mango schmear.. the mango schmear.. try it and tell me I'm wrong

Ikeda's California Country Market is well known for their meat pies…read more Walking into the cute little market we ended up purchasing two frozen pies to heat up for later. They were both delicious although a bit bigger and filling than expected. Next time we would definitely try them fresh and hot since they took about two hours to cook in the oven at the recommended heat. The service was friendly and helpful and they sell insulated bags if you, like us, had not yet started keeping a cooler in the trunk. All in all we would definitely come back!

I am so a frequent flyer at this safeway location. Rarely am I here early in the morning, but if I…read moream, I am tempted to grab a coffee from the Starbucks conveniently located just inside the doors on the left side of the store. On my recent visit, I was inspired my a Yelp Elite Event at Belly Barbecue in Folsom. On a previous visit, I picked up some tri-tip... just an awesome tip *do not buy the untrimmed tri-tip. It may even be at a lower price, but there is honestly there is so much fat to take off of it, if you like to trim your meat, you will be disappointed with the end result. Just buy the trimmed meat. They're bigger, too! On this visit, I picked up pork spare ribs at the good price of $5 for every 2 pounds. The rack comes out to around $9-$13+. Some of them are frozen, but that's ok. So be sure to plan ahead when buying these. Next, I decided on what sides I wanted with this bbq tray I was inspired to make. I decided on the loose bulk green beans. I grabbed a red onion to add to them and I have the garlic at home. Who doesn't like tri-colored pasta?? Well shame on you if you don't!! While I'm the produce section, I grabbed cherry tomatoes. I usually stick with the Briella brand of tri-colored noodles. A Best Foods mayo that was on sale for $3.50 each (there was a limit of 2). I also got the black olives and artichoke hearts in the same aisle. Don't forget to pick up Wishbone's Italian dressing.. it just goes best with this pasta salad. Onto dairy!! I like to add pepper jack and medium cheddar cheeses.. cubed.. and finally, my secret ingredient... Mrs. Dash! Shhhhh! Since I cook and bake by taste, I couldn't give you any exact measurements, but trust the process and experiment and taste as you go... I was helped today by Terri. I have had quite a few amazing conversations with Terri, who also loves to cook. He is always smiling when I see him. He has picked things off the top shelf for me, walked out with me to load up my groceries.. a true honest hard worker here at Safeway. Be sure to tell him hello if you get a chance! He is always there buzzing around this beautiful clean store. My bbq tray turned out fan-fricken-tastic. All of my ingredients were from Safeway in my picture below. My bbq sauce was Kinders brand, their medium bbq flavor was the perfect finishing touch on these ribs!

A nice Safeway almost in the middle of nowhere. Ok, it's not really that rural, but it's quite far…read moreaway from the city or even from Roseville. The wife had me stop here on our way to friends' house in North Auburn on July 4th for a party. We didn't want to drag ice cream and cold fruits up from the valley and have everything melt and get warm so this was the perfect stop. This store looks pretty new. It's pretty much like all the other Safeway which is our main go to supermarket. We got the ice cream and cherries we were bringing to the potluck and then we were on our way. The parking lot is plenty big, shared with a Famous Footwear on one side and a Ross store on the other, so no problem finding spots. All in all, a well kept and spacious store with plenty of stock and fairly friendly staff. Probably a local favorite for stocking up in more hazardous weather condition seasons without having to go all the way down to Rocklin for Costco.

It reminded me of Sprouts, but much bigger and with a better bakery selection. I love grocery stores and enjoy wandering around looking at everything. I enjoyed wandering around Nugget. Spacious, clean, and great customer service. All produce was fresh and the bakery was well stocked with fresh baked bread. I wish I lived closer because I would be here every week.

The shop is set up in an interesting way where you enter through the produce section and snake around to the main shopping area. I thought this was cool at first but realized the way they have it set up to get back to produce you either have to go past the cash registers (which I think they don't want) or loop back around to get up front again. I typically like picking up produce last so it's on the top of my cart/basket so I ended up heading back that way at the end. The rest of the shopping visit was pretty typical and I loved the selection of items they had. I ended up picking up some cheeses, yogurt, noodles, and grapes during this visit. The prepared section did look nice, and if I hadn't already eaten lunch I would have grabbed something here. The staff member who helped me was friendly too.
