The service was amazing!!! The owner and his wife came to our home, brought fabric samples and picked up our 6 dinning chair seats and bench seat to recover for us! They brought them back a few days ago, and put everything back together. The chairs and bench look amazing and I could not be happier! Amazing customer service and great turnaround time! There was an accident on our couch cushions that made them way beyond repair and were expecting company in less than a week. Ruth and I touched base and right away same day she came to measure the couch + seams for the cushions. In 2 days time the cushions were replaced and WAY more fluffy than before! Paul and Ruth communicated clearly and effectively throughout the whole process, and took care of the project start to finish--including final install. Was referred to Paul but Craig's Furniture repair who did an amazing job on fixing why ottoman. I asked Craig if he knew anyone who could redo the cushion as they were very soft and lost all their integrity over the years, he told me to contact Paul. He did tell me that they recently closed down their storefront but are still in business. Gave Paul a call, he asked me for some pictures and some measurements which I sent and he gave me an estimate right there by text. He came by a couple days later to get exact measurements and when he was measuring my cushions he noticed 2 of them were torn and frayed at the seams. He took them with him and said he would repair them at his shop. That was Tuesday, and today is Friday, he brought back my cushions fix, the new foam and right there at my house he replaced all the cushions. Whole process took 15 minutes. Let me tell you, it is night and day. I used to hate sitting on this sectional because the cushions were too soft and you would sink in and it was impossible to get up. Now they are firm but still soft, very comfortable and it looks great. Paul is great, his wife was with him today and she helped out she was great. I am definitely calling him back to help me with my other furniture. Give this man a call, his service is top notch, he comes to you and his prices are great. We've been customers here before. The work was excellent (did not seem particularly cheap; but it still to this day, it still looks good as new). However, today was off the charts good. I stopped by to purchase a block of foam to repair a power chair seat cushion for a friend. I don't know the name of the gentleman behind the counter, but he was as helpful as could be. The foam and advice he provided worked absolutely great. Of the adhesives I had, he clarified which one I should use. I needed some outdoor patio cushions reupholstered. Paul helped me make some decisions that saved me a lot of money. This is a full service design shop, with 1000's of fabric swatches. They have an on-site upholsterer. They also sell upholstery form which is hard to find right now due to shortages. It is a really nice shop, you can stop in a see some of the projects ready for pick-up which helped me see just how amazing their pride of workmanship is. As much as we like to support local small businesses, this business is not interested customers. Three strikes: 1. Hours posted on Yelp say they are open on Saturday but they are not; drove over and found the hours posted on the door that says appt only on Saturday. 2. Called at 10am on Tuesday and asked if they'd be open during lunchtime so I can stop by; was told sure, someone is always here but since you want to discuss the cushion replacement, call first to make sure Paul is there. Called at 12:30pm, answering machine, called back at 12:45pm, no answer and no answering machine. 3. Called back at 2pm the same day and asked if I could come by the next day at 2pm and want to confirm that Paul would be there, he said yes, no problem, come on by. Arrived at 2pm the next day and Paul wasn't there. I'm out. I'll drive down to Santa Ana and go to a foam and upholstery business that is reliable and eager to serve customers. read more

I had a good experience when I first walked into the store. I read some positive reviews and usually trust them. I support local business like this one whenever possible. I expressed to the owner what I was looking for . He said he would be able to make cushions for me and would look for examples of patterns I desired . I was impressed with the service . I had an antique settee reupholstered in white leather. The arms were chewed by my dog. The springs were busting through the bottom. This thing was completely falling apart. The workmanship on this settee was impeccable. They re-tied the springs, re-tufted the entire back, re-cushioned the settee and I am sure there was much more my novice eyes cannot see. The cost was a bit more pricey than I expected but I do realize a lot of work went into restoring this piece. There was also a slight delay in the turnaround time. However, they were kind enough to pick up the settee and drop it off to us in Lake Forest at no extra charge. This is a piece that I cherish so all in all, I am very satisfied. They did an excellent job and in the long run that is the most important thing. read more

We fell in love with this company's work after visiting a friend who had had some pieces upholstered by this company. I like buying older pieces of furniture and getting them re-upholstered, as opposed to buying new, so I was excited to try this La Habra F&F. As luck would have it, my mother had two gorgeous antique chairs that I had purchased for her some time ago, and she was ready to get them re-done, so it was my chance to work with LH F&F. I came by to drop the chairs off and had a nice, long chat with the owner, Paul. He and I are about the same age, and we seemed to get along well; and going by the quality of the work he'd done for my friends, I was quite excited to see the results. About a month later (!) I got a call from Paul telling me the chairs were ready. None of us were exactly in a hurry to get them done, so the timing didn't seem to matter as much--I figured that a good job takes time. Paul had quoted us a price of $250/chair (which did NOT include fabric--we supplied that), which I thought was a bit excessive, but since these were antiques and the springs needed to be re-tied, neither I nor my mom thought it was too much out of the ballpark. Again, these people did quality work, and we know that you really do get what you pay for. I went to pick up the chairs and they were indeed beautiful. However, upon inspection, I noticed a tiny staple sticking out of the bottom of the back rail (wooden) of one of the chairs. Although it was a bit dismaying, I figured as long as they fixed it, it wasn't that big of a deal--they were otherwise gorgeous and very well-done. I told the young lady at the counter and she had the gentleman in back come get the chair and said he would fix it, which he did promptly. However, when I inspected the on-the-spot fix, I noticed he had damaged the wood even more. I left the chair with her and told her to inform Paul (the owner). He called me within the next couple of days and said he could fix it, but did I have more fabric so he wouldn't have to re-use the already used fabric on the back part of the chair? I did, and took it to him a few days later; however, I was a little miffed, as we had planned to use that fabric for something else--so now I'm using more of MY money (cost of the extra fabric) to fix something HE damaged...but what the heck, I wanted a good job done. Another two weeks later, I call him and ask if the chairs are ready, he says "Give me another day or two". I get busy, and a WEEK later I call to say I'm coming to pick them up...he says they're STILL NOT READY YET--another DAY. I phoned him later that day to tell him how disappointed I had been with how this had all panned out, but he didn't answer the phone so I left a message. I called the next day to come pick up the chair, but he said he could have someone drop it off--MAYBE. He said he would call to confirm. I never got the confirmation call, but about two hours later I got a call from the delivery guy telling me he was at my front door...it's a good thing I wasn't far away! Paul does wonderful work, but if this is the way he treats his customers, in my book IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW GOOD HE IS. I will never use him again, and maybe he doesn't care about that, but as a business owner myself, THAT'S NOT THE WAY YOU TREAT PEOPLE. He blew it. Update...I see that over a year later, Paul has finally responded to my review. Had he spoken to me in this manner in the first place, my original review would indeed have been very different. Except the part where he says that *I* am being the unreasonable one. He truly doesn't care how he treats people--he never explained *any* of this (his process) to me at the time, and treated me like I was beneath him. So yes, the work was good--and again, I will say that I not only understand that good work takes time and that mistakes do happen. But you should never, EVER treat your paying customers as if they are crazy for wanting mistakes fixed and/or that they are beneath you. Your customer wanting a job done well, done right and on time--and to be treated in a friendly, or at the very least PROFESSIONAL manner--does not make him or her "unreasonable". read more

I took my leather bench to get reupholstered around the holidays. My bench is a Crate&Barrel bench that was falling apart. The leather was a bonded leather where they had glued scraps of leather together to form a whole piece of leather. After several years of use, the pieces started to come off. I thought about just buying a new bench rather than going to the trouble of reupholstering it. However, after speaking to the owner, he offered several different options. I could reupholster the bench with cloth, which is less expensive. He also said that I could possibly use the left over leather from another customer's bench and that it could save me some money that way. So, that 's exactly what I did. I was able to use the left over leather and it saved my some money! He put in new foam inside the bench as well. The leather is now a full piece/hide of leather as opposed to the cheap bonded leather. I appreciate the fact that the owner presented this option and was looking to save me some money. read more
