Experienced several flashes of light in my left eye on Sunday mid afternoon. Called the office number and selected the emergency prompt. Talked to Dr Dawson, described the symptoms. She said to come in immediately. She diagnosed the retinal tear, reached out to Wheaton Eye clinic retina specialist (Dr Fenton) who also opened the office on a Sunday. He confirmed the diagnosis and performed a laser repair of the retina tear. 4 hours from initial symptoms to a repaired retina tear on a Sunday. Amazing! read more

The positive impact on my family by a visit here cannot be overstated. Over the past summer, my wife made appointments for our entire family for annual vision exams. Based on previous experiences elsewhere, I expected cursory exams rubber-stamped with either "you're fine" or "meh, maybe someday you'll need glasses". My experience with Dr. Dawson was amazing. She took the time to talk to the kids and I. She listened to any concerns we may have with our vision. She actually did very comprehensive exams. The end results have been a complete turnaround for any eyesight issues we've had. I've experienced dry eyes my entire life. She diagnosed me with blepharitis and the treatment has totally worked wonders. My son occasionally suffered from migraines. She diagnosed him as being farsighted. With glasses, no more migraines! My youngest daughter has been having difficulty learning how to read. Turns out her vision is pretty bad, and with glasses we are seeing a huge improvement in her reading ability! I searched high and low for a new eye doctor after moving from the city. I found Focus Eye Care and am so glad that I did. Both the eye doctor and the associate were overly helpful and kind. I have had a very difficult time finding contacts that are comfortable for me. Because of this I have been wearing glasses for the last 13 years. I finally wanted to try contacts, and Dr. Dawson very patiently worked with me until we finally found a pair that fit well! As a former patient of Dr Yu's, I have been putting off my eye exam for two years because I didn't want to start the process of finding a new doctor. Then I figured, if Dr Yu trusted Dr Dawson at Focus Eye Care, I should trust that Dr Yu would leave me in great hands. Wow!! I am beyond impressed!! Follow up care is great! Had an arm break on my glasses and new frame was here and ready in three business days.

We went in for contacts and not bad service but the reception ladies are rude and unfriendly. Plus just recently we called for more contact refill they told me we could not fill it since the prescription expires in May 2019 but it is just February 2019. I would never go back. Just plain unprofessional and rude. read more

I have been going to Dr. Dawson's practice for years. I know that when I go see her that I am getting the best care for my eyes. She is very attentive and I have never had such a amazing eye doctor who "actually " cares like she does. Dr. Dawson takes the time to get to know you and answers all questions that you may have. She stands behind her word and when I had a eye exam during my pregnancy she told me there was a small chance my vision could change afterwards. Which it did change and I made an appt and went in and she helped me once again and replaced my old script contacts with new ones at no charge. Outstanding!!! I accidently stubbled accross Focus Eye Care, what a terrific experience. Not knowing how good Dr Dawson was I got a exam from a previous Dr. Enter Jaime Connell practice director who helped me choose pr's of glasses and sunglasses. Well after getting my glasses I was only seeing well out of one eye. Jaime took the time to challange the lense design and made a second pair at no cost. The second pair were no better. At that time Jaime brought Dr Dawson in the equation. She did an free exam and it was determinded my exam from the previous Dr was way off the mark. Not only did they find the problem they had a another pair of glasses made again at no cost. I know can see out of both eyes. I cant recommend them enough. Dr. Dawson is awesome. She has saved my son's eyesight. He is only 18 years old. Due to her diligence, she found high inner ocular pressures in his eyes. She referred us to an ophthalmologist for follow up. Thank God it was caught in time. He has no optic nerve damage and with medication, he can keep it that way. God bless her and her awesome staff. My family and I have been seeing Dr Dawson for over a year. She is very detailed and thorough with her examinations. She never rushes you and listens to all of your concerns. All your questions are addressed. Her staff is equally amazing. Jamie makes sure you are happy with the glasses you pick out and want you to very happy with your choices. I cannot thank them enough!! I can see again, without headaches and stress!! Here is my story: I was going to another Optometrist for many years. This past October, I had the exam, received new glasses and could not see out of them. Took them back and had them redone...still no good. Daily headaches, eye strain by noon, etc. I went back again and they wanted to redo them yet again. I was so frustrated. I called my insurance and they suggested I go elsewhere for a second opinion. This is where Focus Eye Care comes in. I went in to see Dr. Dawson and she stops just short of finishing my exam and proceeds to tell me she cannot dilate my eyes. That it could severely damage my eyes. She says I have a form of Pre-Glaucoma. She explains everything to me and answers all my questions. She referred me to a specialist who confirms the diagnosis and signs me up for 2 laser procedures. Once those were done, I went back and was able to get a new pair of glasses from Focus Eye Care and returned my old pair to the first place. Once I put the new pair on, my entire body was able to relax. What a difference the right prescription makes!! If I hadn't gone to see her, I would have lost my sight!! They are truly a blessing!!
