I was a long time customer of Tammy's at the former salon she worked at, but she recently moved to Focus nails and I have followed her there! Tammy always does an amazing job, and I have never gotten so many compliments on my nails. I do hybrid gel with her - not all technicians do it, and if you haven't tried it, I HIGHLY recommend it. My nails never lift, break, or chip. They stay looking great for 3+ weeks. The salon itself is clean and comfortable and essentially the same experience you get at the former salon she was at, so don't hesitate to switch to Focus! read more

I asked how much for acrylics and they said $40 then at the checkout charged me $55 bc I had square which is more $$.....what? and said they were long which costs more but they were NOT. I like short nails. So after waiting 30 min. Then they couldn't give me the color I wanted they up charged for a reason I still don't get and there price chart also doesn't validate what they charged me. I Would never go back!!! read more

I've been here twice now, and while I think their prices are higher than many of the nail salons in the area, I was pleased with both the dip manicure (this visit) and regular pedicure (previous visit) I received. The shop is located in the Sprouts plaza, so there is plenty of parking. Inside is clean and bright, with an electronic screen for sign-in, and many colors of polish to choose from. I made an appointment with Judy earlier in the day, and she was ready when I arrived. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she got right to work. I'm very pleased with how my nails turned out, although she filed a bit too vigorously, and one of my nail beds started to bleed. I would still go back to her because she was a perfectionist, which I appreciate. The salon did a very busy, steady business, so I would advise making an appointment ahead of time. All the employees wore masks, but did not require the clients wear them. I do wish they were diligent about opening new, sterilized tools for every client; that's the one area they need improvement. read more

My friend and I get dip manicure and pedicures every two weeks. We're currently trying all the nail salons around Westchase. Major pro of this place is my nails didn't chip at all within the two weeks. Even with dip, surprisingly my nails almost always chip. It's annoying and my friend doesn't understand how it happens. Maybe I'm jamming my kids too hard in their car seats. Whatever the reason, my nails always chip. Here they didn't. They also kept the polish very thin. I never realized how thick other places do it until my manicurist pointed it out to me. After that I appreciated how thin they did it here. I came with two other people and weirdly they didn't seat us together. This is the only place that did that. I was shouting across the room to talk to my friends. The point of coming with people is so we can catch up, so I found that absolutely bizarre. Especially since there were tons of empty spots. My friend didn't like her manicure. It's like they forgot a top coat on one hand. One hand was shiny the other wasn't. They got lotion on my other friend's skirt. My major issue was the price. It came out to over $100. In comparison, at Organic nails with tip it comes out to $90, so this is definitely on the pricier side. Maybe at this place I'd be able to go every three weeks since my nails didn't chip at all. Just know that if you go it will be more expensive. They do offer wine, so you can take advantage of that, but you may not be seated with your friends. read more

I hateee to leave negative reviews but this must be done. Yesterday, I paid $60 for tip for a gel pedicure. All was fine and I got home and the.n saw that two of my nails had literally no polish. It had fallen off. Today, I go back and they fixed those two toe nails free of charge, no questions asked. I come home and now again a few hours later two toes are missing polish! This is a gel pedicure! Completely unacceptable. I've had lots of pedicures over the years and this was not a good one :( read more

Second nail salon I went to in Tampa (Westchase) while visiting with my mom for a month and went for a pedi/mani with my boyfriend. Love the open layout and the upscale pedicure chairs with tons of them. Bright and clean, with the nail colors in books so it's very organized. Never had to wait for service. The gel lights that are built into the tables, nice touch! read more

I don't typically leave reviews but getting your nails done has just gotten so expensive. While the staff was really nice, I do not recommend getting gel nails. The sides of my nails did not have polish on them and the next day it looked like I had gotten my nails done over a week ago as if they had grown out overnight. They also started to chip within two days and that has never happened. read more

I've never left one star anywhere. This place deserves it. I went in for a gel manicure that must've been a bother for the salon. I left with my nails looking like they'd been growing out for a week. None of the nails looked the same. When I went back to have the gel taken off and a refund, I was informed they don't give refunds. I left with the gel partially taken off. Go somewhere else for your hard earned money. (Pictures with the polish were taken the same day I got them done.) read more

I think this place is scamming by replacing their brand nail publishes with cheap ones. I always get the same everywhere I go - regular opi bubble bath -- and it looks yellow and totally off here. Oh - I also got a fungus on my toe nails from here once. read more

The two people that did my Mani and Pedi were really nice, but I was charged more for having my nails shaped oval. I've been getting my nails done since I was a teenager and never have I been charged extra for this. I won't be back because of this up yours charge. read more

The salon is very clean and nice, staff is friendly. I got a gel manicure and a week after I got it done it's already chipping, enough so that I had to pull it off because it was so separated from my nail. It's also a bit uneven-thicker at the top of the nail in certain parts. I may go back again, but probably not for a gel manicure. read more

I don't recommend getting Gel Nails from Focus. This was my first visit to this Focus Salon and although the salon was very clean and nice I don't plan on returning for a gel manicure. On Friday Oct 27 I went in to get my gel polish removed and was convinced to I get a gel manicure. This is the first time ever my gel polish has not been soaked off (usually my fingers are covered with acetone and cotton ball and foil for at least 5 minutes). On this visit she went directly to her little power tool after wiping some acetone on my nails and drying them off. I watched as layers of my nail came off with the paint as she used her tool. The following day one of my nails began splitting. I called Focus to see what they could do. They asked if I could come in on Sunday. My broken nail was soaked, polish removed, then repaired with some dipping powder and repainted. I was told not to worry about the cost. I smiled (thinking to myself I wasn't planning on paying for this repair). Today is Tuesday Nov 8th and I have two broken nails. The nails split straight across. I was just told that my gel manicure isn't expected last more than 10 days. Therefore, I would have to pay to get my gel polish removed. I found this odd because I've had gel manicures done before (at other salons) and it lasted almost a month. If you want to have designs drawn on your acrylic nails I would recommend this salon for doing great work. read more

I have been going to Focus Nails for many years now. Lee, the owner, is always so accommodating and professional. She, along with the rest of the staff, are always so friendly. Their prices are very reasonableness they always do an amazing job on my producers, fills and eyebrow waxing. The place is very clean and sanitary which is so important to me. They have just remodeled the place and it looks amazing. I have been recommending her salon to al of my clients and friends since the beginning. If you wanna get bent, go to this place. I like to give the local nail shops equal opportunity to earn my loyal business. I should've stuck with my first visit -- to K Nails. Husband and I went to get our usual - Gel mani/pedi for me and Deluxe mani/pedi for him. First, don't tell me you have Shellac when I'm specific on not using OPI and then when I see you pull out the bottles you lie and tell me you have no Shellac! Bad move. Then you spent less than 10 min on my feet. The painting technique was AWFUL! Lastly, the bill was OUTRAGEOUS --$163. I will NEVER come back to this place. I'm so irritated I am going to have K Nails take this off and redo the French manicure. Don't go here and unless you want to overpay. read more

I really wanted to love this salon as I've lived in this area for a really long time and hadn't tried it before. All my westchase neighbors said don't go cause they are horrible but I really wanted to try them so I went and asked for a French full set and she did them right the first coat but after she made the French really thick with the second coat she then rushed me as I tried to look at them so I rushed and stuck them to dry and left then realized all the sides were not straight. Like I can do a better job and I'm not an artist. I went two days later and the same lady was there and no one else wanted to fix her mistakes and she said she can fix it after showing a picture of what I wanted so I let her fix them and she still couldn't get the lines straight I told her if she can fix it she said dry it first so I did then she said oh I can't fix it now because it's dry so she was very confusing. She was purposely not doing it right and making it crooked. I don't think people that can't paint a simple French line should be able to work as a nail tech. Never again will I come back and I will tell and show all my westchase neighbors they were right about not coming here. read more

One of the worst nail places I've ever been too. Do not go. First off, my gel nail polish started chipping after TWO DAYS, TWO DAYS. Usually gel lasts on my nails at least two weeks before starting to chip. This gel started peeling off after one week. Second, I basically got a polish change for the price of a gel manicure. The manicure was not worth the price for the treatment you receive. Third, my consultant kept switching between me and another customer getting a pedicure, without wearing gloves or washing her hands. Unsanitary. Again, will never go back to this place and would never recommend it to anyone. read more

I've had only good experience coming here. They're always friendly and super nice. The salon is clear and smells good. My nails normally last about 2 weeks, but if you choose to do with SNS it can last longer and even make your nails healthier. Perfect little place for manicure, pedicure, or waxing. I got acrylics done here 6 days ago. At day 3, one completely fell off (which isn't supposed to happen with acrylics) and now day 6 another one came clean off. This has never ever happened before and I get acrylics regularly. To say the least I'm highly disappointed. read more

It's a random thing to notice, but I miss when they played the home improvement shows. However, since I was there with my sister we were busy chatting instead. Their no frills pedicure (which is still great) is $33, which I think is a great deal. I feel like my feet were pampered and I have a new color that stays on pretty long. Overall I really like this place and I'll keep coming back for pedicures. If you have an appointment they are pretty on the ball about making sure they see you on time.

When I arrived, there was only one other client in the place. The salon is bright, clean, and cheery, with gorgeous chandeliers throughout. One side is the nail salon, and the other side is the spa side. Partitions were set up at each nail station to separate client from technician, and everyone wore a mask. Hannah got right to work and she did an excellent job. She was very friendly and chatty, which I appreciate since essentially getting your nails done is boring. When I didn't love the color I chose, she quickly came up with suggestions, and my color was swapped in no time. I love that they use sealed, sterilized implements, so I didn't have to worry about the instruments being clean and safe. The only negative about this salon is that it is much more expensive than I'm used to paying. A gel manicure, with tip, and with specialty chrome accent nails that cost extra, is usually around $36-$38 at my regular place. The cost here, with tip, doing the same exact thing, was $59, though fortunately the first visit was $10 off with Yelp Check in. So - did I feel that it was a $20 better manicure than I usually get? Nope, not really, although I did enjoy myself, and I'm happy with how my nails came out.
