This is one of my favorite toy stores, and who doesn't love toys? I imagine it's extremely challenging owning a toy store because there is an infinite amount of toys. The selection is so vast because of the ranges in materials, quality, age range, and target audience. So, I love Fog Town Toys not only for its glorious name, but also for its amazingly curated selection. Don't get me wrong, there a lot of toys in the store, which utilizes every inch of the moderately sized store. But, each toy was clearly deliberately picked. All of the toys are great quality and enticing. The owner is also as nice and warm as she is masterful at her job! Find Fog Town, and then you can conveniently enjoy some gelato a few doors down. read more

Went there after Christmas with my family and ended up buying two things. We were visiting half moon bay and decided to support a small business instead of Amazon. After getting home, I noticed I was charged $5 (plus tax) extra. We purchased a small piggy Uncle bubble toy for $14.99 but was charged $19.99 on the receipt. Tried contacting these guys a few times but received no answer. No one ever picks up the phone number on the receipt and they have no website. The number on Yelp is disconnected. The guy at the front desk was an older gentleman so maybe he didn't see the price tag correctly. Even so, it was scanned into the system and it displays $19.99 on my receipt. It almost seems like deceptive practices but I hope they see this review so they can fix this issue. read more

I drove from San Francisco to support small town stores. Specifically looking for toy stores. Went in 20 min before closing. Too busy closing to help me or answer any questions. Felt like I was going to be run over by the vacuum cleaner. I told the girl I had come from SF and she said they were closing. I was there to spend money! read more

This is a locally owned smaller well stocked toy store right off the main downtown part of half moon bay. Parking is street only and as this is a fairly popular stretch of downtown-there are a half dozen businesses that share this courtyard -you might be a block ish away farther down or over on a side street. No big deal really. This is a smaller store that is chock full-one could say overstocked- with toys of every description. While they do carry some major brands-barbies, duplo, lego etc. they do have a strong focus on semi independent or more thoughtful stuff such as Infinitoy (they make zoob, if that helps you recognize them) Hape, and whatnot. They have an especially strong selection of baby items, kites, and marble runs. The kite selection while aimed at non professional users are very strongly made. They are not the kind of things that break while you are trying to get them out of the wrapping. So yeah, it's a smaller store and it gets cluttered at times, but if you are buying a gift for a child, have children, are young at heart, or like kite flying this is well worth a browse. read more

This is a gem of a toy store that has an amazing selection of goodies for kids of all ages. We rewarded our toddlers with a trip here during our Half Moon Bay weekend getaway and they were on cloud nine. Lots of puzzles, building toys, Legos, everything you can imagine. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly and I can't recommend enough. Spoil your kids here, it's worth it. read more

I was just shopping around for a gift for my nephew who is about to turn one. I asked someone, who I didn't know was the owner at the time, for suggestions for a one year old. She offered the popular toys and books based on the contextual info like what he likes or general disposition. She was even generous to wrap up up the two gifts separately for free with beautiful wrapping paper. The items are modestly priced but the service was great!!! I'd come back anyway for younger children gifts. I do wish there were more plush animal options. I highly recommend this place read more

This is a pretty good toy store tucked away in a very attractive old blue historical building. It has a better range of toys than some of the little toy shops in San Francisco. I bought a puzzle and a little toy racing car but I could have bought more ;-) read more

A nice little toy store tucked away in a courtyard. We were there early so the store (and most of Half Moon Bay) was empty, but that meant it was easy to explore the stacked shelves full of toys. Lots of puzzles, cars, kitchen play sets, kites and lots more. Prices were reasonable and a good range for all ages. read more

Such a charming store with an amazing inventory of creative toys for all ages. I am very impressed at the wide range of non-electronics offered here, there are lots of creative play toys that run on your child's imagination and creativity. Fantastic locally owned store. They are great at helping pick out gifts and I love that they specialize in local quality products. This place is amazing! We could spend hours here. We stopped in on a search for Pokémon cards and left with three bags of toys! Great deals for Black Friday/shop small Saturday.
