Stephanie is such a sweet lady. She knows her plants and gives great advice on how to care for them. I traveled 2 hours to visit Half Moon Bay and found a great treasure, my forever plant shop as long as Stephanie is there I will keep traveling to visit her shop!

IMHO This store is a breath of fresh air, filled with beautiful Fair Trade gifts, and lovely plants and pottery. I quickly found a lovely gift for one of my teachers; a tiny potted plant sitting in the cutest little pot. $4 for the plant and $5 for the pot. Stephanie the kind proprietor gave me instructions on how to keep it alive and packaged it carefully for the ride home.

Most beautiful plant and gift shop in the downtown of Half Moon Bay. All the plants are so well curated that you will feel like you are in the house of someone, not inside a store. All blends so well, it is so airy, you will feel the oxygen coming to your lungs just by opening the welcoming door! They mostly carry locally made products. This is the perfect place to buy a nice fleshy green plant for someone while visiting HMB. I also liked the jewelry section, pretty eclectic.

The best nursery to find healthy and beautiful house plants. The owner and employee were very helpful and friendly. Have visited twice and was very happy with my peacock calathia I had to go back and get another for my friend.

    I love lamp.

Lots of hemp-y wool-y hippie-y stuff....clothing, accessories, art, jewelry, housewares. I'm not big on the whole organic movement and all that, but I still like to browse through here whenever I'm downtown. The selection is definitely interesting; in particular, I really love their lotus-style lighting fixtures (see photos I posted). Way cool. I do think the prices are a little high, especially on some of the clothing. That's part of my beef with this whole organic-sustainable-thing. Always so much more expensive than regular stuff. Yeah it's trendy, but I think they'd get a lot more people on board with the movement if they made it more accessible cost-wise.

The abalone in this ring catches the light.

Almost every piece of jewelry, of clothes, shoes, kitchen decor, notebooks...I am obsessed collected of all things with Eiffel Towers on them. This fun obsession of mine started when I commented on Facebook how much I liked the shape of the Eiffel Tower and how iconic this tower was for Americans as it appears in so many souvenirs or objects, the most inimaginable possible. Then, suddenly, everybody started gifting me the coolest trinkets and my collection of Eiffel tower necklaces, earrings, shirts, tops, etc etc started to grow. So...needless to say every time I see a store like The Posh Moon all French inspired I have the need to enter and get something. In this case, since I was accompanied by the boyfriend and probably he got tired of all my omg so cute, look at this, check this out, i love it love it...he got me a very French beret (fuchsia bien sur:), a foulard with the Eiffel tower printed and a picnic tablecloth with another Eiffel tower and positive message written in French. All super adorable like this pale blue painted store run by 2 no less adorable ladies (one gave me a lucky coin, if I don't win the lotto, I will still go back for a mini dose of Edit Piaff and charming things.

Just a few minutes from the coast, it's the kind of place that makes you slow down the moment you walk in. I went with a very sensible gardening mission: buy lavender plants to attract pollinators for my Meyer lemon and Bearss lime trees. Very practical. Very responsible. Nothing could possibly go wrong. Then I opened the door. The scent of fresh lavender was incredible. Not the artificial fragrance from candles or room sprays, but the real thing. The entire greenhouse smelled like a spa, and my quick errand immediately became a leisurely wander. The shop is beautiful, with healthy plants, gorgeous pottery, garden décor, lavender bath and body products, gifts, and more lavender varieties than I knew existed. I found myself comparing Provence, Phenomenal, Hidcote, French, Spanish, BeeZee Pink, and Burgundy like I was preparing for a horticulture exam. I eventually came home with two gorgeous plants, Provence and Phenomenal. Were they more expensive than the ones I could have picked up at Home Depot? Absolutely. Were they also fuller, healthier, and some of the most beautiful lavender plants I had seen? Also absolutely. The staff stayed quietly in the background, which worked perfectly for me because I didn't need help and could take my time looking around without feeling hovered over. I left with two beautiful lavender plants, a very happy new gardener's heart, and one clear expectation: The bees had better show up now.

I am partial to their garden decor, especially the adorable animal sculptures. I'm a shopper who loves a deal, so I was pleasantly surprised to see some lavender plants on sale outside of the store! No, I didn't purchase any because I have at least 8 lavender plants of my own at home, but someone will surely take advantage of the deal! I will definitely return when I'm back in Half Moon Bay!
