I stumbled upon this store during my work trip, and it was such a cool store with a lot of plant varietals. It's too bad I was from out of town. Otherwise, I would have walked away with a few plants....and another session of therapy with my counselor to explain why I needed more. Plant daddy's unite! I showed the woman working there my proud plant parenting with my avocado seed and how big the plant got, yet was recently suffering with browning leaves. She did suggest a few possibilities and solutions, which was very of her. You can tell she is passionate about her work and loves her store. I would buy plants from her any day! read more

IMHO This store is a breath of fresh air, filled with beautiful Fair Trade gifts, and lovely plants and pottery. I quickly found a lovely gift for one of my teachers; a tiny potted plant sitting in the cutest little pot. $4 for the plant and $5 for the pot. Stephanie the kind proprietor gave me instructions on how to keep it alive and packaged it carefully for the ride home. read more

Most beautiful plant and gift shop in the downtown of Half Moon Bay. All the plants are so well curated that you will feel like you are in the house of someone, not inside a store. All blends so well, it is so airy, you will feel the oxygen coming to your lungs just by opening the welcoming door! They mostly carry locally made products. This is the perfect place to buy a nice fleshy green plant for someone while visiting HMB. I also liked the jewelry section, pretty eclectic. read more

My family and I like to head over to Half Moon Bay at least once a month to check out their nurseries and get some awesome sandwiches near Earth Impact. Stephanie remembers us by now and is always super sweet. I really appreciate how she doesn't raise her prices through the roof and stays very true to the value of houseplants. Especially because I'm in San Jose, houseplants in the area are SUPER overpriced, but Earth Impact has very nicely priced plants and pots. A pot at Leafy in San Jose could cost $15, but Earth Impact would carry it for $8 !! Earth Impact specializes in loose leaf teas and houseplants!! What more could a girl ask for? I have a whole cabinet full of her tea and houseplants all over from her. Definitely give Stephanie and her shop a visit! She is the definition of an awesome small business owner! :)) read more

Looking at places to go in Half Moon Bay this place looked appealing. My wife and I stopped in and were pleasantly surprised what the store had to offer. Prices are very reasonable, plants are in the great shape, and the tea offering is fantastic. After my lengthy coastal hikes I often pass through downtown HMB in order to grab a sandwich at San Benito, but I don't really linger because it's kind of jarring after a solitary morning out in nature to suddenly be amongst the hustle and bustle of a downtown, even if that downtown is as tiny and lacking in "bustle" as HMB's. Still, the weather was so nice on Veterans' Day that I felt like hanging around after my hike/sandwich, and I figured I could get a head start on holiday shopping by browsing the windows for ideas. The fair trade clothing in Earth Impact is what caught my eye. There are gorgeous jewelry items and impressive art pieces, but what I ended up purchasing for my mom was a gorgeous scarf made out of a piece of shimmering, raw lavender silk. It was a hit when I presented it to her over the holidays. Many many props to the lovely owner (whose name I've forgotten, sorry!) who took the time to giftwrap my purchase nicely and deal with my onion-y San Benito sandwich breath while we were chatting as she worked. The holidays may be over for another year, but Earth Impact is worth a look-see for all your gift-giving needs year-round. read more

Lots of hemp-y wool-y hippie-y stuff....clothing, accessories, art, jewelry, housewares. I'm not big on the whole organic movement and all that, but I still like to browse through here whenever I'm downtown. The selection is definitely interesting; in particular, I really love their lotus-style lighting fixtures (see photos I posted). Way cool. I do think the prices are a little high, especially on some of the clothing. That's part of my beef with this whole organic-sustainable-thing. Always so much more expensive than regular stuff. Yeah it's trendy, but I think they'd get a lot more people on board with the movement if they made it more accessible cost-wise. read more

I was headed south down the coast and thought "I wonder if HMB has a tea shop now?" Lucky for me I came upon Earth Impact and was drawn in by the window sign announcing specialty teas. I found a number of Japanese teas to take home. And I had a nice chat with the owner, Stephanie. BTW I recommend the Kabuse (shaded) Sencha if she has some. read more

I didn't have such a good experience in this store. My size on a T-shirt I had liked was unavailable both times that I popped in. Then, the lady wasn't sure if she'd get any more large sizes for the same T-shirts in their next shipment. Several weeks ago, we visited downtown Half Moon Bay with my elderly father who is disabled. We found this store to be inaccessible due to steps leading to the doorway. My father is wheelchair bound and it's hard to help him into such buildings. We wish that this storefront and building had been better designed with higher disability standards and up to California Code. read more

Just thought that the woman was being a bit pessimistic about the economy during our shopping. This inviting little store is an awesome place to go for gift items, clothing, jewelry, handbags, wall art & home decor with a unique, artistic flavor. Did I cover it all? Stephanie goes to great lengths to stock the place with fair-trade, eco-friendly, organic and sustainable merchandise . . . hence the name Earth Impact. She carries a lovely line of super-comfy hemp and organic cotton shirts made from clay-dyed fabric, some with printed designs and some without. The jewelry comes from local artists as well as other countries . . . from beautiful beaded bracelets handmade in Central America to earrings that are fabricated using recycled wire from discarded computers. Everything in the store seems to have a "green" connection to it. This is the first place I stop when I head over the hill to HMB . . . I can't wait to go see what new goodies have come in since my last visit. A great place to find something fun for yourself or someone special! read more
