This is supposed to be a fine dinning experience and not even in McDonalds I get this kind of bad service. I work at a steakhouse so I know steaks pretty good and I got this awful server arguing back and forth with me of how medium steak looks like ..... I understand different dishes take different times but if the staff knows it's a birthday celebration. You can't sell dishes with 15 min between each other. Then, this poor excuse for manager comes to "talk"to us and instead of apologizing for the lack of service. She says" oh well, what do you want me to do" . My team and I decided last minute to try Fogo de Chão, and we were thrilled to get a reservation for 10 people at 5 PM! For many of us, it was our first time, and the excitement was high. We kicked things off with wine, espresso martinis, and margaritas--great choices all around. The buttered bread on the table was absolutely delicious and a perfect start. We all opted for the walk-around meats, but honestly, the vegetable table stole the show for me. It was so impressive, overflowing with fresh fruit, salad ingredients, breads, rice, sauces, pickles, and so much more. I could have made a whole meal just from that spread! Came in for a birthday dinner. As a pescatarian I didn't think I would have an option here but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the salmon dish which includes the market bar. (market bar would have actually been plenty by itself) however I was disappointed all the veggies in the bar were cold- cold asparagus wasn't for me! The bar did have plenty of offerings with my favorite being the smoked salmon, fresh cheeses , the egg salad & caprese salads. The salmon dish on the menu was good as well, after squeezing the lemon, I liked how it came with a crispy outter layer but it was not breaded! the grilled asparagus it was served with was also great! *WORST WAIT TIME / SERVICE ACCOUNTABILITY* I've come to Fogo de Chao in various cities on multiple occasions, but the one in Austin always ruffles my feathers. I had made reservations the week of for a party of ten (a couples' night), but one of the couples had to cancel, so we ended up as eight. The day of, we arrived about 10 minutes early and checked in. Once our full party arrived on the dot, we were asked to wait outside until our table was ready. 10 minutes later... nothing. I checked in again and was told the table was still being set and we could wait in the waiting area inside. 35 minutes passed... and that's when I lost it. I always give the benefit of the doubt, but when we're spending~$65 / person, the lack of organization and communication was outstanding. I book reservations for C-suite executives, so I can only imagine the kind of blowback I'd get if this same experience was delivered. .... After my tirade, we were finally seated, and were told the delay was due to our party size changing from 10 to 8 and that it made things "difficult". Usually, less people = accommodations should be easier. They then doubled down and gave another excuse stating a larger party of 20 changed their numbers and caused the same issue... we are not the same, the focus should be on the customer at hand. What is this lack of accountability?? In other news, they complimented our first round of drinks and sent over two towers of their jumbo shrimp for the inconvenience. As much as I love Fogo and come back every so often HOPING it will get better... this one was a tough one. read more

Fogo- I am writing you once again about my experience on Friday evening. I cannot believe I left your facility with so much rage and anger. I have never been treated so poorly. I have never felt such distaste and lack of professionalism when you were supposed to win me back. I was polite and direct with my last email. When we arrived at your restaurant I felt a sense of fear from the staff. The waiter was polite but I could tell something was off. Once again, we ordered drinks. It took almost 10 minutes for them to be served. We began the salad bar. Once again, with red coasters, the staff brought proteins and were trying to put them on the salad plates. I asked them for a clean plate, he looked at me very funny and walked away. A young girl brought us out fresh plates and put them to the side. She walked away quickly and did not offer to take the soiled plates. I had to call her back to the table and ask her politely to remove the others. I was at this point over my experience. I voiced my dissatisfaction to the waiter. He apologized and walked away. I am still in awe that a manager did not stop by our table with an active complaint. I know a manager was working but no one bothered to address the issue. I was fuming at this point. The waiter came back with a checkbook. I said, I refuse to pay any part and that he should consider working for a higher class establishment. I don't understand how you stay in business. I want my Visa card refunded the total amount from our 5/21/26 visit and for you to make this right. I am in utter shock of how your business runs. Came in on a weekday to try their full churrasco experience for lunch. The market table has an abundance of yummy items to try, so it's hard not to fill up before the meat starts to come out. The complimentary bread is also one of my favorites. The meat was hit or miss. Some pieces were great, but we had a few that were tough or flavorless. Also, one of the servers that cut the meat for us was slightly rude and did not always offer the meat to everyone at the table. He seemed very annoyed whenever we asked him a question about the meat. The servers also aren't super careful when carving the meat. One person at our table had a piece of meat dropped onto her lap. We did enjoy the drinks and desserts. We got the premium caipirinhas, crème brûlée, cheesecake brûlée, and chocolate molten cake. Everyone left the meal stuffed. I started off with a Caramelized Pineapple Old Fashioned and it was a good boozy start to just the deluge of meat that came my way. Usually the gauchos start slowing down after a while sometimes to the umbrage of the waitstaff. Here it seemed like the gauchos were more than happy to come by again and again and again if you appreciated whatever cuts they were touting. I think if you're at a Brazilian steakhouse picanha is what you should eat the most. The picanha gaucho asked me once if I liked picanha and when I said I love it, he came by multiple times; once he basically just dropped a small slab of it so I wouldn't have to wait for a few slices. Having ate at other Brazilian steak houses in the area this was not my favorite experience. Food was good, options that I had not had before like garlic Parmesan pork and lobster tail ultimate it was the service that was not the best. It didn't feel very personal, more rushed and almost excused. We did get checked on repeatedly so that was nice but seemed pretty fast paced for the staff so there was no eye contact really and seemed distracted. For example we have 2-3 people check on us within 20 minutes but all of them were informed that we were waiting on a specific cut of meat or a drink and ultimately there was no follow up and someone completely different would bring said item to the table. However the team effort was there to get a table taken care of it was just interesting to have 4-5 people assist you, not including those offering cuts of protein. read more

First of all, the staff is so friendly and the service is fabulous ! The ambience is wonderful. We were here two nights ago for a company dinner and had the full Churrasco experience ($61.50-$82) It was really good. The desserts were also excellent (key lime pie yum). It was a little complicated to do with such a large group (80) but the staff handled it well. So well, in fact that we decided to go back tonight to go to the Market Table & Feijoada Bar (on its own $18 lunch or $36 dinner). We decided to add the salmon to outside ($43 for salmon and includes the Market Table. We have had enough red meat over the last few days. The salmon was excellent perfectly cooked, and came piping hot to the table. We loved all the charcuterie meats, cheeses, salad choices, fruit veggies on the Market Table and Feijoada bat. Let me begin by saying that I detest the traffic in Austin, but we were eager to go to Fogo De Chao. If you cannot find free parking, use their valet service. The parking section next to the restaurant is ridiculously expensive. The atmosphere and service was amazing. The waitstaff was fantastic. I appreciated that the tables were a good distance from one another. The meat was absolutely delicious. I was, however, not very impressed with the selection of food on their market table. Came here for a celebration dinner with six people. Had a reservation - seated quickly. The new location is gorgeous and the valet out front is very helpful vs. street parking, especially if anyone in your party is in heels - the walk is short. The majority of us opted for the traditional meat experience, but the vegetarians in our party had ample options between the salad bar and some vegeterian menu options. Service was generally good, although the kitchen was definitely producing meats in fits and spurts - lots of things at once followed by long pauses between options, even with the green pogs turned up. Two special requests (lamb, pork belly) from the menu took more than 40 minutes to finally arrive after asking four different times. They're definitely getting used to a new number of patrons, new layout, etc. and having some hiccups in consistency / continuity. I had made a reservation but when I arrived, we had to wait to be seated. The waiting area was behind the bar which was a small hallway where the staff was basically running through to try and wait tables and what not. It was an awkward arrangement but once we were seated at our table, things went pretty smoothly. We did the Tour of Brazil (I think it was called) where they bring different meats for you to try. And the lamb chop popsicles and beef sliders which were 13.50 and 15 dollars, respectively. I would order everything again except the lamb chop popsicles. Came here for a lovely post-elopement celebration with our small wedding party (6 total) and as expected, the food was delicious. As others mentioned, the table arrangement is tight and it felt awkward to get up and visit the "Market Table" i.e. salad bar weaving around other tables, and there was limited free space on the table which made it awkward when we had plates we were ready to have cleared. The service wasn't as great as we've had at other similar Brazilian Churrascerias though so that was a bit disappointing. The entire table had opted for the full Churrasco experience, with one exception as we had a vegetarian member of our party who selected the market table only option. At one point we had multiple offerings of delectable meat choices offered and then... nothing for quite some time. We made a few requests for meats that had not been brought by and waited a good 20 minutes before making the same requests again. In fairness, they were busy, but we were not in a private room so the other tables must have felt the same annoyance. The other weird thing was the "hording of the menus" as only one was brought to our table of six, forcing us to pass it around while the waitperson stood there to take our drink order. The hostess popped by to take the menu almost as soon as our drink order had been taken, so none of us ordered another beverage as we had no reference to review. We also had no way of making requests without pulling up their menu on our phones. Strange that we could eat all the foods we wanted but menus? Nope can't have those. We didn't expect this lack of service given that our reservation was 7:30pm on a Sunday, but we didn't allow it to ruin our event. Went in for a friend's birthday dinner at 7:30pm on a Sunday, I suggest you don't ever do that. I repeat do not go on a weekend evening- it will be busy, and you may not exactly get a chance to have the most attentive service. Tabletop circles were all green but it took as much as 20 minutes between getting another serving of meat to be offered to our table. Table of 9, all doing the "Best of Brazil" deal, except for the birthday boy- who was suppose to be getting the Full Churasco Experience but was not being offered any of those cuts (he should he been offered things like ribeye, filet, mignon and lamb chops, among many other things not being presented to him, despite asking for the full-dinner menu for his B-day. ‍ Worth noting that even with the "Best of Brazil" menu option the rest of us got, there are supposed to be 11 different entree menu items offered to you, but long story short we were really only offered two- chicken, and the Picanha- which is great, but they came around with that four times and didn't offer us Any of the other meats on the menu we signed up for- eg. Of things that we didn't see once: No bacon wrapped steak, Torresmo (Pork belly), Linguica, Lombo, Fraldinha...and these were not things they were out of, as we saw other tables recieve them. In summary the food is flavorful, but I don't recommend coming here for dinnertime on weekends. Maybe for lunch during a slower weekday where they might be willing to make more rounds with the meat skewers and ensure everyone gets offered everything that should have been offered, or allow you the opportunity to ask for things with more ease and less stress on the workers, especially considering the raised price. read more
