    Avocado toast
    Alyssa G.

First time at Nectar this morning, I just moved into the area and honestly, I probably won't be back. Hear me out, from what I gather the food is pretty good here. I got the avocado toast, but too much feta on it I took most of it off. Other than that, it's good. I spent $31 total not realizing the avocado toast came with two slices instead of one, the price made just a little more sense. I also got the chocolate chia pudding with strawberries and bananas on top, that was good, hard to mess that up though. And finally I got a pistachio matcha latte. I will say yumm to that one. Now, when I go to a coffee shop to sit and enjoy, the ambiance matters so much to me, especially for when I go alone like I did today. The music they're playing? Hotel lobby music. It's fine, eh, not the worst but not enjoyable at all either. I'd suggest for them to get a better playlist asap. My recommendation is look up chill coffee house music on Spotify or something. It's not hard to make a place more enjoyable, you just have to put in a little more work. Music is so important to us, it sets the mood, enhances your energy levels, your domaine levels. Pay attention to this. This comes to my next point, the furniture? Tacky. It's that cheap furniture with the "gold" legs to make the place "look" fancy. The chairs are so thin and uncomfortable actually. It's funny when a place decorates a place "simply" and think it looks good when you can tell no real direction was implied. Did they ask themselves "how do I want my customers to feel when they sit in here?" Doubt it. Don't get me started on the tacky pink telephone booth that looks like Legally Blondes Wedding Planner threw up on it. It makes no sense for the space. The sugar caddies on the table are ugly. The white wall with the green letters spelling NECTAR needs color, needs paint. It's boring. Add some real life, love, and vibes to the place, and you'll have a solid joint. Ask yourselves the reason for opening a coffee shop in the first place. Was it just for the money, the profit? Makes sense. But did you actually have love for the idea of bringing people together? A love for quality conversations, and good energy, good food and drinks and for people to say things about your creation like "have you been to Nectar before?! Wow it's so good, it's my favorite coffee shop. It's beautiful in there and all of their food and drinks are amazing!" Because I promise you, although your food and drinks seems to be good from I'm reading, you're not people's favorite coffee shop. Do more, do better. With love, Alyssa.

Lunch for 2 was $56 (+ tax and standard tip). For what you get quality wise, not impressed. The classic turkey wrap tasted like something from Jewel's deli. The biscoff latte was alright. Overall, it's a smaller place and gets loud easily.

While we were passing through the area, we needed a quick coffee to start the day. We decided to try Nectar as it had good reviews and promising looking coffee. Upon entry, the space was very clean, girly, and cute. I was a bit disappointed that we were not greeted though after standing by the register for at least 5 minutes. Even when the girl came to the register, it was "what can I get for you" which didn't feel warm or inviting. Although the customer service was not good, the coffee and blueberry muffin I got were!

Such a cute spot. Got a vanilla latte. My sister got a smoothie. Every coffee shop has pistachio flavor now.

Friendly service. Their cappuccino and fredo espresso tasted great! Ube cheesecake was a nice compliment to the drinks. Very cute decor.

Tried Nectar yesterday for the first time. My girlfriend and I popped in after taking Pilates next door. We immediately loved the space, it was colorful, bright, and clean. There was a variety of food, drinks, coffee, and juice on the menu. Next time I will definitely want to try food and hopefully increase my rating. We specifically love juicing, so we were excited to try some of their fresh squeezed juice! I got the Nectar and my friend got the green detox. After a few sips we both felt each drink didn't have nearly enough citrus. The Nectar one was overpowered with ginger, and she felt the green detox one had a salty taste. I actually went home and added an apple and a lime to my nectar one and it was incredible! She also ordered a caramel latte and said it was amazing. We will be back to try more variety after our next class.

Nectar is a cute coffee cafe located in Downtown Burr Ridge. They offer a good mix of coffee, teas, juices, and smoothies as well as breakfast & lunch food items. They had a case of fresh muffins, yogurt parfaits, and sweet treats for purchase. The inside had plenty of seating to enjoy and looked like they normally have front patio seating when the weather is nice. I ordered just a hot lavender latte (12oz or 16oz opts). I loved how much froth was on the top. The coffee itself was a good medium roast and strong. It was served at the perfect temp as well. I had wished the flavor came through a bit more but I did enjoy it! I'd recommend trying it out when in the area! Tip: If you check-in through Yelp, they offer a 20% discount!

Our group of six with two young children visited on two consecutive weekends, specifically Sundays for lunch after a morning of playground activities. Neither weekends were busy so it is very ideal for us in that it was quick and simple to place an order, grab and combine two tables, and situate ourselves. So far we have tried the hot latte, iced mocha, chocolate muffin with chocolate chips, chicken panini, turkey panini, turkey wrap, and Mexican quinoa salad with chicken. Honestly, we couldn't quite pinpoint the difference between the latte and mocha. They tasted very similar and the chocolate in the mocha was very subtle. The chocolate muffin is plenty for sharing. It was rich but not overly sweet. The batter was soft and moist. The paninis and wraps come with a side of chips. My girls enjoyed both the chicken and turkey paninis and especially the chips. My turkey wrap is very refreshing especially on a hot day. Our favorite item is definitely the Mexican quinoa salad. It was a very health-conscious selection with a sizeable portion of quinoa, black beans, jalapeno, red onion, corn, tomato, avocado, and lime dressing. I am not entirely certain but I am under the impression that Nectar is newly opened. Therefore I think there are still some minor details to work out. For example, on our first visit our food was served on very thin paper plates that did not hold up the food contents. Some of our food was spilling over. That was changed on our second visit when our food was served in plastic baskets which worked out a lot better. So I would say have some patience and give it another try if things were not the most ideal in your initial visit.

Cute little shop! I wish I had taken more pictures. But as soon at I tasted my Mocha Frappe I forgot about pictures! I did take a picture of my husband's cup so I wouldn't forget the memory...he loved his coffee as well. I highly recommend and would return tomorrow if we weren't flying out in the wee hours of the morning!

I came here with a friend on a beautiful day and enjoyed eating outside. The service was fine. I had a wrap that came with tortilla chips. It was turkey with pesto. It was good but felt it was a little overpriced and the chips were not great. I enjoyed my chai tea latte. My friend had a quinoa bowl that looked fresh.

What a lovely spot for coffee outings with friends or some productive solo work time! The interior is absolutely stunning, with such aesthetically pleasing decor that's easy on the eyes. Plus, there's plenty of seating available. I popped in for coffee early in the morning, and the service was impressively quick!

Nice little gem in Burr Ridge. Everything on the menu is solid and fresh. I typically get the açai bowl and turkey wrap. The ambience is on point. The music is relaxing. Great place to stop by anytime during the day with friends, families, or business partners.

Great little place. I bring my dad here to have a coffee after his weekly appointments. We have a coffee and blueberry muffin. This business is less than a year old and I hope the two ladies working, always working are well appreciated and well paid. I notice that lots of people come in and work on laptops, tutor teens and young adults, and visit with their children. This in not St*rb*cks and it is not a chain. Offer them the same grace you would offer a toddler learning to walk.

Amazing coffee great service delicious salads and paninis

Picture this; 6:55am on a Friday. I enter my local DD in search of an XLarge black coffee to help…read morejump start my day. I walk in and to my dismay, there's a line of 22 customers. I panic... should I stand in this line and risk being late to work? Where would I stop next for some delicious coffee? I decide that the coffee is more important than punctuality - I stand in line and start the stop watch on my wrist watch (I'm always analyzing something). From the moment I stood in the line to the moment I was walking out their door to my car (with delicious coffee in hand) was exactly 3 minutes and 18 seconds. Where else can you and 22 other people get served in under 5 minutes? I've waited in line longer at Speedway down the street for cigarettes. I've had longer waits in the McDonalds drive thru. And Good luck getting a coffee at a Starbucks at 7am in less than 5 minutes. Due to the impressive in and out service, I was at work without delay. What I absolutely love about this location are the employees - no matter how busy they are, you get greeted with a smile and good service. If you become regular here, they even will start making your "usual" before you reach the counter. I am not one of those regulars.. but have observed this with just about every visit. One thing I do not like at this location is the strip mall it is located in. Parking stinks, you're dodging trucks coming in and out of the Ford Dealership. And that ridiculous street light in front of Portillos makes RTE 83 over here pretty sloppy. I do not understand the reviews previously left on this page. Most of them were a few years ago and perhaps they've cleaned up their act here... perhaps a few ultra-picky Yelpers were having bad days. Dunkin Donuts stopped making donuts in their retail locations about 15 years ago. They are driven in daily from a bakery location. If they are out of donuts in the evening, maybe it's because they're hustling donuts during the morning hours. This has been the "norm" for most DD locations I've been to. After all, most of their business takes place in the morning and afternoon.
