5 stars for Lemont. Probably 4 stars in Chicago…read more Walked in on a Saturday for an early dinner. It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

Vegan options was a plain pizza with just vegan ricotta on it…read more the vegan ricotta was VERY sweet, like sugary. like a cake lol. I don't know how. I just eat and review it. For the $20+ pizza I wouldn't recommend. Glad they have options tho for everyone. I remember my boyfriend pizza(cheese/meat normal ) being a little on the burnt side, but it's wood-fire can't complain too much. Service- was ok I only picked up to go so I can't say. Ambiance- was super busy and packed but we did pick up so not a problem.

Caught Wooden Paddle just after the lunch rush on a weekday and it hit the spot in a big way…read more The space is charming, tucked on a corner in downtown Lemont with the kind of casual warmth that makes you want to linger. Great spot for groups since most of the menu lends itself to sharing. The Neapolitan pizza is the real draw here and it earns the reputation. We went with the pepperoni and it was very good. Well executed, properly blistered, the kind of pizza that reminds you what pizza is actually supposed to taste like. The whipped ricotta and honeycomb appetizer was a genuine standout. Creamy, sweet, deeply flavorful. Only complaint is that the bread situation did not keep pace with the amount of ricotta they give you. Send more bread, please and thank you. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. One honest note for families: the menu skews mature and there is no kids menu to speak of. A cheese pizza is about as far as the options go for little ones. My son was not exactly inspired by the choices. For a restaurant this good, a little more consideration for younger diners would go a long way and open this place up to a whole new crowd of regulars. Worth the visit, just know your audience before you go.

We tried Moreno's Restaurant in Lemont with a group of 10. We had attempted to reserve a table, but…read moreunfortunately arrived about five minutes late and they had already given the table away. Honestly, that part is completely understandable since we were late and they operate on more of a first-come, first-served basis. Once we were seated, though, the service became quite disappointing. It took a while for our drinks to arrive, and then we waited about 20 minutes just to have our food order taken. From the time we sat down, it was roughly another 20-30 minutes before the food actually arrived. What made the wait even more disappointing was that the restaurant was not busy at all. There were only about three other tables with customers, so we really couldn't understand why everything was taking so long. With that kind of wait, we were really hoping the food would make up for it, but unfortunately it fell short. Some of the dishes were noticeably over-seasoned and salty. The milanesa tortas were tough and chewy, and definitely not something I would order again. I would also skip the rice and beans. The burrito was probably the best thing we tried and was decent. The kids' tacos were also disappointing the tortilla was very greasy and the meat was quite salty and chewy. One other thing worth mentioning is the additional charges. For parties of 6 or more, they automatically add a 20% gratuity, and if you pay with a credit card, there is an additional 3.5% credit-card fee. Given the slow service we experienced, the mandatory 20% gratuity was especially frustrating. Overall, the slow service, mediocre food, and additional fees made this a disappointing experience. If the restaurant had been packed, I could understand the long wait, but with only three other tables occupied, the service was much slower than expected. I probably would not return to this location.
