This was frustrating, but they tried in good faith to make it right. The closing/finance team was atrocious. Armando tried to fast-talk his way into every upsell and markup possible, would not take ownership of multiple typos, numerical mistakes, and inaccuracies in legal DMV paperwork, trying to fast-talk his way through it, blaming others for giving me inaccurate info, and making multiple mistakes despite blatant/flagrant errors. When asked for a supervisor, he got his friend/colleague, a younger, red-headed gentleman who presented himself as a supervisor/manager and who had a terrible attitude and dismissed me with his arms crossed. When an actual manager arrived, they did make some efforts to make things right by having a supervisor review the signing paperwork with me - ultimately even more numerical and objective errors were found in paperwork review (incorrect contract/purchase date submitted to the DMV!). If you find yourself deciding to purchase a car from this dealership, be incredibly wary of the finance/closing department. Scrutinize EVERY DETAIL and EVERY LINE, as they will use the terms "standard, included, mandatory, free, optional" in every manipulative and deceptive way to get you to say, "screw it" and push through to sign paperwork. Dealt with them lying to my face and trying to get me to like it for 5 hours. If you get the younger, red-headed/sandy haired guy or Armando, just assume they are lying to you and scamming from the handshake onward. 0 stars, negative stars if possible.

Simply asked if I needed any assistance and offered me the keys to test drive with ease. The purchase process was very simple and after making the decision to go ahead with the purchase, I was out the door within 15 minutes with the keys in hand. Within a week of purchase, I drove the vehicle 700 miles to Phoenix and while I was there, I had a BMW shop perform a full inspection on the car. It passed with no significant issues beyond normal wear and tear. The only issue that I have had in the 2 or 3 months since purchase was the check engine light came on for a pump that pressure checks the fuel tank to verify no leaks. A simple fix. With any used car lot that is not a major car company lot, you take risks with your purchase, but I was pleased with my interaction with the sales representatives and with the purchase. I believe I got a lot of value in my purchase.

I purchased my vehicle from Folsom Lake Ford and also purchased extended warranty and service…read moreplans, neither of which were inexpensive. Unfortunately, my experiences with the service department since then have left me feeling like being a returning customer doesn't count for much. A recent experience really summed it up for me. I brought my vehicle in for a repair covered under my extended warranty and was required to pay the $100 deductible, which I understand and accept. However, I was then told that small trim clips were excluded from coverage and would cost roughly $14 each. These are inexpensive plastic clips, and in this case it's entirely possible one could have broken simply while the trim panel was being removed during service. Regardless, after purchasing a vehicle here and spending significant additional money on extended warranty and service coverage, being nickel-and-dimed over something this minor leaves a very poor impression. The issue isn't really the cost of a few clips. It's the principle and the overall customer experience. Something that small would have been an easy opportunity for the dealership to take care of a returning customer and build loyalty. Instead, it accomplished the opposite. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing the extended warranty or service plans without carefully reviewing every exclusion and understanding exactly what will and will not be covered. I also don't plan to return to Folsom Lake Ford for service or for my next vehicle purchase. Losing a long-term customer over a few plastic clips seems incredibly shortsighted, but that's ultimately how this experience left me feeling.
