Updating my last review here. A couple weeks after my last review I found out Niello had a new service manager, Terry. He gave me a call and talked with me through my previous service experiences. He let me know that he felt like they didn't do a good enough job taking care of me and my car. TECHNICALLY they didn't owe me a thing, despite the poor customer service they provided, but Terry was adamant that he wanted me to bring my car back in, order the part that had gone out, and replace it for me. He was flexible with my schedule and got my car in, the part replaced, diagnosed a couple other things I was dealing with, and got me out the same day. The car's Bluetooth system is now working perfectly. I can't say how much I appreciate Terry's service. He clearly cares very much about taking care of his customers and exemplifies exactly what VW should be proud of. He and Brandon were fantastic to work with and I greatly appreciate all they've done to help me out. read more

Knowledgeable, thoughtful, and competent as he explains the work that needs to be done and when the work is complete, he takes the time to make sure you are completely satisfied. And after I left my garage door opener in the loaner, I called them - they found it - mailed it to me- and I received it before the week's end. Three cheers to Sittar for making that happen! I visited this dealership specifically because they are a KBB Participating Dealer. I arrived with a valid KBB Instant Cash Offer (ICO) and a car that perfectly matched the condition described online. However, the dealership refused to honor the certificate. They claimed the KBB offer was just a 'computer algorithm' and didn't reflect 'actual data' for this location--which completely defeats the purpose of being a participating KBB partner. Instead of honoring the transparent price promised by the program, they wasted my time with a lowball offer. I've waited four years to write an honest, transparent review now that my lease with VW has ended. For the duration of the lease, I encountered numerous, repeated problems with the car's infotainment system/CarPlay. The issue was well documented on my end, and yet, the service professionals didn't have any problem trying to gaslight me. One guy even said I should buy the newest iPhone in an attempt to troubleshoot, haha. Ohhhh ok. So, you guys scam me into paying a crazy high monthly lease payment for an ID.4 (despite having an excellent credit score) and then your only "solution" is to get a new phone in the hope that it might work. I had numerous other issues (including illegal things that transpired when signing the lease!!!), but the primary reason I went with another dealership was the outright harassment I experienced at end of the lease term. I received DAILY calls, texts, and emails with end of lease specials. I understand you want to sell cars, but c'mon guys, leave people alone!!! Now that I am experienced in negotiation and know what to avoid thanks to VW, the car-buying experience has been so much better! I ended up giving them the car back and rolled the negative equity into a new Mercedes...and now I have a much lower monthly payment for a luxury vehicle, no less!!! read more

I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from Niello VW back in May 2025. At the time I was new to the "No Haggle" policy, but I really appreciated that they mentioned it early on, and in the end I liked not having to worry about fighting for saving dollars, I just needed to determine whether the price was right for me... and it was. I'm loving the vehicle. Fast forward to September 1st 2025. I discovered a crack in the front headlamp. I decided to contact the dealership. The General Manager Scott Russo got back to me right away, and ask me to bring it in. I showed him the crack, a small crack on the bottom surface of the headlamp assembly that was easy to miss, but I had noticed that after washing the vehicle I could see a small spot of condensation on the interior of the headlamp assembly. Scott took a picture, and let me know he would get back to me. Within 1 hour, Scott had reviewed the pre-existing pictures of the vehicle at the time of sale, spotted that the crack indeed was pre-existing and missed during certification, notified me back of his findings, and let me know that he had ordered a replacement headlamp assembly for me. I can't tell you how far this honesty and integrity goes in making for a wonderful customer experience. At the time of sale, the sales rep had told me that their service department was award winning, and now I've seen the evidence of that. read more

Went all the way out there after having talked to somebody in depth about refinancing current car or leasing new and had to do the test drive and everything and just really didn't get anywhere near what I was hoping to achieve price wise. Their prices were as high as the San Francisco Bay Area, so not worth the travel out there in my opinion. The finance guy quickly put me in touch with the sales guy- who had a great personality and told me a lot about the new version of the ID.4 car that a previous dealer didn't know as much, so that part was helpful, but was mainly coming to refinance and they came nowhere near my previous numbers. 1/2 the battle is getting you there- the other half should be making a deal. If I could give this dealership negative stars then I would. After spending most of the week and most of my Saturday morning dealing with their sales person Jordan. We agreed he'd hold a car until we arrived at 6pm. When we were 20 minutes away from the dealer we reached out and said we were near. If Jordan or anyone at the dealership had any integrity, they could have notified us that they had someone finalizing a deal on the car we were interested in. Jordan was very well aware of our intention and we kept open and honest communication with him, apparently the Niello dealership group doesn't reciprocate that! We bought a '23 ID4 and recently discovered that the charge port door will not stay closed. Checked VW forums and it appears this is a common problem. Contacted VW service that day and per the receptionist "all the techs are busy and there are no service appointments any time soon"! My wife reached out and requested a manager call her. So far, NOTHING! So now she has to drive around with the charge port door hanging open! This is a great advertisement for VW Anyway, we do have an appointment next week BECAUSE OF A RECALL ISSUE/REPAIR, so we've added this to the list, along with a material separation on the driver side seat (defect). read more

The service department: Definitely No. They 1) never answer the phone. 2) Kept my car that was brand new and under warranty when it was making weird noises for days and called me to tell me AFTER days went by and I was waiting for a diagnosis that they were still trying to hear the noise at all. No fix. 3) I have another VW that they tried to sell me used parts for that were a ridiculous amount of money that I ended up getting replaced new under warranty at Elk Grove VW. While the sales staff were nice, I seriously wish I had not bought a car and will here, and will not be taking the car back again for service even if I have to drive farther away. read more

It was just a little "catch with a click" shifting my manual gear 2020 Jetta in reverse. It never caused damage, and I had let it go five years already. Not a huge problem. Today, I decided to just mention it to the customer care team at Niello with my 50,000 mile service. Ron was my service rep. Ron was very pleasant and approachable. I mentioned the gear clicking as an aside. "Yeah, yeah! Let's take a look at that! Well, we're kind of busy today but I'll write it down and let the service tech take a look at it," he said very clearly. He shifted the car into reverse and felt the distinct "click." Yeah, now I'm not sure I can get the mechanic to reproduce that...but I'll let him know!" What Ron thought he had said was, "That's a diagnostic issue. It requires another appointment." Ron never said that. Ron called me later to tell me my car had a "clean bill of health." I asked if they checked the reverse gear, and he chirped, "Um that's a diagnostic issue...um, yeah! We can look at that for you! We'd be happy to set up another appointment!" After all, it was a sunny day in California and everybody is happy! I let it go, half disappointed and half not caring that much since the gear click never really hurt anything. I went to pick up the car and a young guy finished my paperwork. The service shop here has gone downhill. They remodeled recently, so there's no place for you to sit at a desk and engage with the service person; you have to stand at a kiosk. I walked in, and then two young men on right walked up to two customers who were sitting in the chairs by the door, and they offered to help them and brought them up to their kiosk and helped them. One big guy ignored me. He was typing at his computer. After the two service people helped their customers they ignored me as did the big guy. The guy whose turn it likely was to help me who is the next and only customer in the two chairs by entry door just ignored me. I know he saw me sitting there. He ignored me the last time I was there months ago, and reluctantly took me up as I'm sure his coworkers were glancing at him as it was his turn. I forget his name, but I sat there today for 20 minutes and was ignored. No doubt it was the big guys turn to help me. Nobody offered to help me after they were free and then when a tall man walked in, they said we'll be with you in a moment, sir, and literally the big guy helped him within seconds of him walking in while I continue to sit there. Nobody checked on me to make sure I was being helped so I just got up, drove out and left never to return again. The big guy is lazy and shirks his duty. The remodel suggests less interest in conversing with customer. Just jiffy service. They didn't clear my error lights last time I went in. I suggest finding a local small mechanic shop. I just did. UPDATE: right after I left this review Their Sales Dept texted stating that the service Dept noted I was there. They want to sell me a car. I'm a dedicated Volkswagen owner having had a 70s Super Beetle in HS, a 2013 and 2014 CC. I walked in and same day leased a 2023 Tiguan R-Line with my trade in. I had zero follow up from the staff but waited for months for a phone call. That didn't happen. Just a "how do you like your Tiguan?" Would have been decent. So, disappointed. Also, during purchase, while the salesman was emptying my trade in car, a few items like my fav CD in the player and my fav water cup (excellent condition, clean) got tossed. I still think a tech or my salesman assisting me could have just bagged these and called me to pickup--instead I repeatedly called and left messages that weren't returned. I made a 3rd and last attempt -- knowing it was pointless but I was getting irritated by this point -- calling the Service Dept and the manager took the time to rummage around in back but no luck. It was just the principle of selling and treating a customer like family. I've owned about 9-10 cars in my life and there was typically a follow up call if not two and a letter and mailers. I didn't even get a text from this Sacramento dealer. I'd give them a 3-star rating for this faux pas but am giving a 4-star rating only because I love the car. read more

I wish I didn't have to write this review. I'm one of those people who NEVER WRITES a review for a thing like a car right away. You just never know what will happen. I already posted about what happened, after only 3000 miles of driving on my newly purchased Used 370Z. All of a sudden, the clutch and flywheel stopped working properly. I found out the fly wheel was shredded...sadly. I thought it was not very strange, there are times around 40K miles when the clutch might give out, on a stick shift. Esp if it was abused, so I was upset, BUT NOT SHOCKED. Come to find out...my mechanic told me this was the 2nd fly wheel that had been installed!!!!! Two flywheels installed in a car under 36K miles? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! My mechanic was flabbergasted!!! He explained to me, cars are obtained either as a trade in directly to the dealerships, or a dealer will purchase from the auctions, after they are sold "as is". Some drivers choose to turn them at an auction for quick sale, etc. I already knew that, but what he was implying was that the owner may have turned in the car with the first shredded "OEM" flywheel, then it was replaced with a 2nd market flywheel and clutch. So either the auction site "frankensteined" my car for a quick sale, or the dealer did...I can't say for sure, but it was a cheap shot, esp since the dealer is obligated to sell the car in a reasonable state. The attached pictures are what my mechanic sent me. Keep in mind, I've only put 3000 miles on the OD since purchase. I took one trip down to LA since ownership. So maybe 1200 miles put on, on that trip if not less... no doubt, I have not driven it very much. The Service Shop at Niello seemed VERY DISMISSIVE, from the start, and ignored my complaints about the Safety belt pretensioners not locking properly, from the 3rd or 4th week of ownership, and other issues. Thinking back, it came across as they not wanting to deal with me or my issues, and a $4800 expense, is definitely at the top of the list, for mechanics in that mindset, esp without a fee coming from that type of repair (from me.) If I find out they sold me that car knowingly it would require such repairs, I will take legal action. Also, in case you missed my other reviews, I DEFINITELY protected myself with the Extended Protection Plan, and bought the plan that covers scratches etc. So, this isn't a case of crying over what went wrong, I definitely was well prepared. I have my car back, FINALLY, and look forward to driving it again.... Happy Holidays... read more

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. A male staff member--who seemed like a manager--spoke to us in an extremely rude and aggressive way, yelling things like "Get out of here!" and "Move your car!" with no explanation or basic courtesy. There was no reason for that kind of tone. It was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. If this is how they treat people who walk through their doors, I can only imagine how they handle business. On top of that, there's no proper parking area or clear signage, yet customers are expected to just figure it out. Very disappointing and unacceptable behavior. First time with such appalling service. My dad took my car in Tuesday for a tune-up, however I've been having issues with the car losing charge over night and not lasting as long as before. My dad was not offered a rental car, but heard another service person offering their client a rental car. So, obviously, out of curiosity he asked why wasn't he getting one either. Ron the other service person stood up and glared at my father and talked to my dad in a rude demeanor stating it's because the other car is going to be here for a week. My father told him to not talk to him that way and will talk to his manager. First of all woah woah, Ron Sir did you wake up on the wrong side of bed today? I called Volkswagon to understand what the crap was going on. And the service person told me it was because of their lack of rentals and they haven't determined how long the car would be in the shop for. She also kindly explained that the tune up on Tuesday would not have caused any changes in the battery life and they will investigate. She was so nice and informative. I conveyed this message over to my father and he was totally fine with that, but not with some rude butthole that yelled over at him. He asked, why they didn't just tell him like that and he was having no issues until Ron started yelling across the room and treating him with disrespect. Like I understand there are no customer service now a days, but Ron don't go yelling at my father. Is it because my dad is an Asian American, you think it will be alright to push him around and yell at him. This is so unacceptable. read more

Twice I've taken my Golf Sportswagen for a tune-up at Niello VW and twice I've questioned Niello's ability to provide required service. On August 12, 2025, Niello allegedly performed 110,000-mile service, but the invoice doesn't describe what Niello did. Within two weeks after the service, the windshield washer fluid needed replacement. The official service required checking and filling fluids. Therefore, twice I emailed Niello to find out if it had checked fluids and rotated tires. Each time Niello failed to respond. Bad, negligent service. read more

Never ever show up for your service appointment early. I came early on Saturday to drop off so I could get my day going and they had someone call out on 4/20 so they had 2 service advisors. I waited 40 minutes till it was my turn and once she hears that's I'm early, tells me that she has to check everyone else in before me for appointments that arrived after me. I've never been to a dealership that will not let you drop off early. If this is your policy then you should tell your customers when they schedule the appointment.
