We consider ourselves "regulars" at this hidden gem. We've had sushi all over the world and this place is up there. We love the uni with quail egg, salmon, yellowtail, super white tuna, sweet shrimp, monkfish liver, and oysters (when they have them). The quality is consistent and the staff is our favorite part! Kevin is THE sushi chef who makes all our nigiri perfectly. They sometimes special order us things we request. We love this place and will stay very loyal. read more

Ordered for delivery. The yellow tail roll was TINY and overpriced. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious, but again, overpriced. We also tried the gyoza and calamari. Gyoza was good, but the calamari tasted frozen. Not impressed by this place. :( read more

I have been here once before in person for sushi and it was decent and would have returned. On this night I was let wanted delivery and went to GrubHub and saw that they delivered. I ordered the Teraiaki beef, a spider roll, and 4 orders of hamachi ( yellow tail tuna). The order came and was starving so dug in. The beef was undercooked and had almost no Teraiaki sauce. I ate it figured the lack of sauce was the cause and still had my sushi to go so no big deal. Opened the tuna and it smelled awful and was mushy. I know we live in Denver. No where near an ocean lol but it was not even ediable. Oh well on to Spider roll. It also smelled bad. The crab in it was a brown color. I ate one and spit it out. Then threw everything in trash. Worst food ever. I ended up eating hot dogs at home. I called grub hub to complain they called restaurant and after him talking to them a bit they said no refund on sushi and refunded beef. I wasn't even going for refund. But needed them to know the food was not satisfactory. Not sure what the deal was but never should have been delivered. Because of this I cannot recommend this place and I will never return. read more

I have no idea how this place has 4 and a half stars to be honest. My girlfriend and I went to this place looking for a decent new place to eat around us, and we never tried this place, so we thought why not since it's always been close (and the good ratings on Yelp didn't hurt) Terrible decision. And I had to make a Yelp just to let everyone know. We ordered shumai, a few pieces of sashimi and a few rolls just to try a bit of everything. The shumai was disgusting. Really sweet for some reason with a weird gooey consistency. Nothing like anywhere else I've eaten. The sashimi wasn't fresh at all, and it tasted like they didn't even bother with anything else like rice vinegar. The rolls we got: light on fish and flavor. It would be tolerable if this place wasn't priced like other sushi places that were better but instead the bill came out just as expensive as similar orders where I got great food like Land of Sushi. Really bad. If you want sushi and you're around here you might as well stop by the King Soopers right next door to be honest. read more

You would not know about this place unless you live around here. Located in the suburbs in a shopping center where other restaurants have failed. My guess is this place will succeed. From the exterior, it looks like an average sushi bar. Inside, the atmosphere reminds me of a Japanese video game. Maybe it was the lighting or the funky ceiling. Good sushi made with fresh as can be fish (in a land lock state). There is nothing better than fresh ahi. You can't go wrong with any sushi you order. Their Fuji is not as good as Hana. The soba is perfect for a rainy night. End the night with red bean Mochi ice cream. Yummy! Service gets four stars. read more

My wife and I just moved to the neighborhood. A week ago we decided Sushi and I looked up on yelp to find this place. The significant other said to go to the place in Southland Mall. I have to tell you, this is by far the best Sushi in the area. Thank you Lord for being within two mile of home. The food was delicious, prices were great and the service was Top Drawer. You like Sushi, this is the Bomb! The fifth star is because the alcohol prizes are overboard!! $8 for one shot of Jim Beam in the rocks, give me a break, it's good bourbon but not $8 fe freakin' dollars. A very modern atmosphere with average service and good specials. Lunch is $8.50 for two rolls, salad and miso soup. Had the philly roll. Too much cream cheese and it had a strange taste. Avoid! I was in the mood for some sushi and happened upon this place as I was in a new part of town. In short, I was lied to, ignored and paid way too much for an uninspired plate of fish. Gyoza were incredibly watery inside the wrappers, leading me to believe they were prepped a while ago and the water pooled inside, diluting the taste and making a mess. When I go to a new sushi place that has otoro on the menu, I make a point of trying it as it is a good gauge of the place, I also like the amebi for that as well. When they arrived, the otoro was very wet and bloody, looked like it has just been defrosted in a microwave, and tasted flat and flabby. I asked the waiter if it was frozen or just bad, and he said that it was fresh (he didn't know what otoro was despite being on the menu). I waved down a chef and asked, and he said the otoro is frozen. The amebi was not terribly sweet, and the fried head was quite dirty, leaving a gritty texture and off flavor on the palate. Additionally, the rice at Fontana is not very good, slightly grainy/mushy, and without that wonderful flavor and chew that makes good sushi good. Finally, the chirashi was served, the only high point was the sesame & bonito flake topping on the rice, the fish was uninspired and the white tuna so stringy I spit it out. The salmon sashimi was pretty good, though the fake crab, over-cooked shrimp and multiple pieces of egg just ruined the dish. The service was utterly confused, I had no assigned waitstaff, just an endless stream of people coming up. read more

I ordered the spicy trio with salmon, yellowtail, and tuna. It was good, but I have had better. I give it a three. My lady friend had a Philadelphia and tornado rolls. These were excellent. Adding another star. I've been back a few more times for a sushi fix and it has gotten much much better. It's actually far better than Bangkok Tokyo and the service is still really really good. The last time we visited my sons chicken wasn't cooked all the way and they made him a new skewer very quickly and the rolls and sushi we had were really good too. The fish was cold and the unagi was warm and delicious. We got the calamari this time too and it was excellent and the dumplings were great as usual (note: the sauce they serve with it is amazing!!!! I could drink it but I didn't want to look like a crazy person so I just dipped my rice:). Anyway, if you're looking for good sushi and you're in the area, go for a visit. The wait staff is awesome and the chefs always put on a show for the baby when we walk past. It's good stuff! read more

This place is amazing. Tucked away in a strip mall connected yo a King Sooper's one would never think this place is as good as it is. Definitely rivals the more popular sushi places in Denver ie Sushi Den, Hapa Sushi. If you are ever in Aurora/Centennial this is a must for your sushi craving. So its been a couple years since I wrote my first review on this place. Glad to say I'm still a fan the food is still the same quality as when I first visited. What I said then still holds true today. I come here probably 2-3 times a month. I've been there during the week when they first opened and questioned my decision thinking maybe ordering sushi this early could mean I get seafood that isn't very fresh. Well I've been wrong on every occasion. The fish is always tasty and never has a odor or weird texture. The only thing I will say is that the sushi/sashimi portions have gotten a little bit smaller. The rolls are just a tad smaller, but noticeable. With that said, I'll still take "freshness" over size. I've even brought my friends there that live in other parts of town and they too thought the Sushi was very good. read more

Pretty good considering we are in a landlocked state! My husband and I are from San Diego and have been incredibly spoiled with great sushi, so finding a good place here in Colorado is definitely a gamble! We have come with lower expectations as we know it can't really compare to having fresh! We ordered our food for take-out and were mostly pleased. The special rolls were all good, better than we expected, and the chicken karaage appetizer was great! I was NOT impressed with the miso soup, it was bland and tasted more like flavored tap water.
