    Beer taps

If you're from out of town and you want to try something local (not a chain) then definitely give Fontana's a shot. It's off the main drag and has been around for most of the 50 years I've lived in the area. All the food is good, and the portions are healthy...you won't leave hungry. Recently had both the filet mignon burger and the Italian hoagie...both were very good. It's small. Half of it is taken up by a good sized bar, but they have a side dining rooM that seats about 30. Wait staff is all courteous and friendly. Great experience all the way around. If you've read any of my other posts, you know I'm all about the beer, and Fontana's delivers there too. Really good selection of craft beers on tap including some from truly local breweries to go along with the more well known craft breweries. If you're from the area and have never tried Fontana's, you're missing out. If you're from out of town, definitely skip Applebees and try Fontana's instead. You won't be disappointed.

    Go for it!

I enjoy listening to live music. I especially enjoy listening to live music during those cold, dreary winter nights when nothing else seems to be the cure. I recently discovered that Fontana's not only serves up an array of decent food, and drinks, but they feature some fine musical talent on scheduled Friday nights. The combination of great sounds mixed with tasteful food, satisfying drinks, and a fun atmosphere certainly works for me when looking for a bonus evening with friends. I grew up in the area, and remember dining here as far back as high school, so I often encounter friends I havent seen in awhile. I really like the fact that you can carry on a decent conversation while enjoying the musical guest. The bar area gets exceptionally crowded and seating is limited but there is an adjoining dining room that is within ear shot of the music. Lots of good options for food and fun. The bartenders are a great addition to the evenings festivities. Be sure to try their seasonal sangria to get the party started.

Service outstanding. Food is very good. Always a nice time. It's a bar and a small restaurant, it's your hometown pub.

Local pub with decent Italian food. Jump in and soak up the local vibe. Music once in awhile provides more attraction to this cute pub.

Ordered take out tonight - February 26, 2026 - for what is our favorite pizza within 30 minutes of our house due to excellent ingredients, fantastic sauce, and no skimping on toppings or quality. Well tonight was quite disappointing - it started off great as we pulled right into a parking spot out front which has the same odds as winning the Powerball. Unfortunately, that was the only win and it went directly downhill from there. Pizzas were overdone on top, with very little sauce and cheese. My wife's pie had small extremely thin slices of onions and peppers and not a lot of those. My pie had four pcs (not filets, only one half filet and 3 pcs) of anchovy total on my pizza with small pcs of peppers. The sauce was entirely different from any pizza we have ever had at Sforno - it was bland and almost flavorless which is 180° from any pizza we have had before. It's a shame when a restaurant of any kind cheapens and or cuts back on quality ingredients for whatever reason - was the second story addition added to soon for the business to support? Did winning the Trib Live Best of the Best 2025 award listed on the door make them complacent? We will never know - but it's extremely disappointing to see this happen to a place that was fantastic up until now.

Here are my ratings for some recent foods: Soy Glazed Salmon - 5 stars - The salmon was a good size, was cooked nicely, and had a sweet soy glaze. It was served over flavorful brussels sprouts, carrots, and potatoes. Veal parmesan - 4 stars - Veal tenderloin medallions were breaded and topped with tomato sauce and provolone cheese. I liked that the breading was not soggy. Pecan-encrusted chicken salad - 4 stars - Chicken breast was encrusted with pecan breading and served atop a house salad with pecans, tomatoes, dried cranberries, and mandarin oranges. Anyone who regularly travels the Pennsylvania Turnpike knows how hard it is to find a truly memorable place to eat. This one is absolutely worth the short detour. The atmosphere is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food exceeded every expectation. We had to try their famous mushroom soup, and even though I'm not normally a mushroom fan, it was hands-down one of the best cups of soup I've ever had. The smoked salmon salad was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Sandwich special, and every bite was packed with incredible flavor. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made us feel right at home and added to what was already a wonderful dining experience. We finished with the Bananas Foster. While it wasn't the tableside flaming presentation you'd find at a fine-dining restaurant, the flavor was outstanding and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be making Out of the Fire Café a tradition on our future trips. If you're traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike, do yourself a favor and make the stop--you won't regret it!

I really enjoy that the pasta is fresh and the menu isn't 40 pages long. It's straight to the point and you know what you're getting based on what is listed under the pasta shape. My short rib ricotta gnocchi was good but I do wish it had a bit more salt to bring more of the flavor to the front. The gnocchi texture was perfect and pillowy. The short rib mixed in nicely with all of the pasta and the sauce. My spouse enjoyed the cannelloni, which was pretty much their lasagna but also wanted a bit more salt. Our server was very nice and walked us through the menu options as well as told us about the seafood special for the night. The bread came out first and was delicious. The salad was also good and I don't usually like arugula. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and I enjoy that they take the time to do that. The space is very cute and you can't really miss it even with it being in an executive building. It's a smaller area but it can seat a good amount of people. We noticed they had a pasta making class so maybe next time we're in town, we can do it. The red sangria had a great balance where it wasn't too sweet. We didn't do dessert but we did enjoy the digestif at the end with limoncello and my spouse ate the amaretti cookies as I couldn't.
