Being born and raised in Woodland, this store has been a long time spot for my grocery needs. The quality is amazing, the price is fair, and the staff has always been high spirited and caring. As a person who loves to cook, I go to 6 grocery stores (not counting Costco and Target) and am always impressed with what Food4less offers - great selection at an often lower price. This is my go-to spot for produce, and specialty meat. Not every store carries octopus, beef heart, and makes their own sausage. Good location and great food. We received the Truckload Sale postcard in the mail and were in Woodland on Easter Sunday so decided to stop by Food 4 Less to check it out and pick up some sale items. We had never been there before and were unfamiliar with the layout. It took awhile to find some of the items we planned on buying and a couple we couldn't find. The store has a large selection of products, especially of Hispanic items. The produce section had fresh garbanzo beans. I don't think I've ever seen those before. We wanted to buy a particular breakfast cereal but the shelf where it should have been was empty. We searched around for someone to ask, but couldn't find any employee around, other than at the check stands. My husband got irritated and wanted to buy what we had picked up and leave immediately. This is hands down the best grocery store in Woodland. They are owned by Nuggets but do not have Nugget's price (I love Nuggets). It's a spacious store with a variety of products such as fruits and veggies to include Asian and Mexican produce to a big selection of wine. I was looking for Japanese/Chinese eggplant but the bin was empty. I asked one of the workers if they have any eggplants. Rudy stopped what he was doing and said he will check the back and he came back with a box of the freshest eggplants ever! He was very friendly and eager to help. That made my day. Evening of 8/26/2023 Johnny G. was absolutely wonderful assisting me with a WIC transaction. I am new to using the WIC card so it was my first transaction using the WIC card. Johnny G. was so helpful and friendly during the entire transaction. WIC transactions may time extra time at checkout and some cashiers tend to have an attitude (experience in the past at other stores using WIC vouchers years ago) however Johnny G. was simply amazing, professional, helpful and even provided some useful advice next time I use my WIC card as I told him it was my first time using the WIC card. I love this Food4Less. I don't live in the immediate area but shop here when it's convenient if I'm in Woodland. The Woodland Food 4 Less far exceeds what you typically encounter in supermarkets with this format. They have amazing customer service, great prices in comparison to other stores and a quality product assortment. What's immediately noticeable about this Food4Less in particular is the product assortment. Unlike other "for less" type concepts with shelves dominated by low quality + even lower nutrition value items this Food4Less is different - no need to compromise on quality and nutrition for a good price here. Generally speaking, this is Nugget with a Better meat department. Prices are OK, not great. In fact, WinCo has better prices if you can get to one. Produce is so-so. I bought three bags of pre-cut lettuce and didn't check them. One of them had been frozen and was bad. I noticed this once I got home. I've never had good luck with their produce. Everything else is OK, but again, the prices are hardly better than the mother ship, Nugget. Just not impressed. read more

I'm a traveling construction worker and I shop at Food 4 Less locations all over California and as a previous merchandiser many years ago I really did appreciate the cleanliness of the store. Every label was turned and faced perfectly. The floors were spotless and when I went to check out, there was a long line, which was quickly taken care of when multiple other cashiers came to help...H ands-down the best shopping experience of my life! I was blown away at the high-quality of this Food 4 Less. It's now my industry standard for all other stores. There must be a very serious crew working at this store because everything was so perfect. The store was literally!so perfect... It was like something out of a fever dream. It calmed my OCD. It literally made things feel right in the universe lol... I've never been to this before, as soon as I walked in I was amazing by the cleanliness of the store. I live 40 miles away and have other choices , but I was in town so I stopped by. More importantly, and the reason I'm writing this review is Timo, let me say it again, Timo. I have never even used Yelp but I downloaded Yelp just to make sure he is recognized. I didn't have enough money to get all my stuff, so i asked him to set a few things aside while I switch funds around. How embarrassing right, no, not at all with Timo.The passion, grace and understanding he expressed was heart warming. Timo never once rolled his eyes or treated me like some poor ( literally) jerk, he made me feel right at home, at peace and not panicked. To go one step further as I was still nickel and dimming around and feeling like the scum of earth he literally offers me .20 cents , yes you read that right .20cents Is what I needed to complete my purchase. I did have it in the bottom of my purse, but the simple fact he even offered blew me away. I should have been mortified, but I wasn't because of the way he treated me. I hope this review isn't taken lightly and who ever reads this understands the full power of his kindness. I could go on and say more about this young man but I think i'm running out of space. I will come back to this store for the sole way i was treated. Very good selection of fruits and vegetable here for very reasonable price. The only thing I would like them to change is their selection on lemongrass. I believe I am the only person who buys that from here and the quality of lemongrass here is just sad. All dried up and looks bad compare to everything here. Other than that I like this place and they have good selection on Bok choy, dill and other products that you usually don't find anywhere else. read more

This store has the best produce and ethnic food items! They have a lot of Mexican ingredients, and Asian and Indian ones too. I just moved here and used to go to WalMart for my groceries, but I'm so glad I gave Food 4 Less a chance. Some things are a bit more expensive, but the meat and produce quality is so much better and less expensive. read more

The store got remodeled back in 2009/2010 and while it is nicer, it's still a great, no frills grocery store. Don't expect produce to be stacked like artwork as it is in some other grocery stores (like Whole Foods) as you are saving money by shopping at F4L. That being said, produce is generally quite cheap! Staff is friendly and bilingual (English/Spanish). Lots of ethnic ingredients found here that you can't find at places like Safeway. Your store has surely gone to sh*t recently. I've been shopping there happily for 14 years, but lately you've been worthless. Today, for example, I had to buy meat that wasn't my first (or second) choice because the butcher hadn't got around to packaging it yet. This has been the case for my last three visits and it's getting really old. If I wanted to be treated like this, I should just go to Walmart and save some money. It's frustrating because I used to shop at night and was often told that I was "too late" and I needed to come earlier to get what I desired. So I changed my shopping times to the morning and now I'm told that "we haven't done that yet...it will be out in twenty minutes". I have a life and do not have time to wait for ground beef/pork for twenty minutes (at 10:30am). I understand you are short staffed due to Covid, but this is ridiculous. Please do better or I will (unhappily) move on. PS I find it interesting that your checkers no longer ask if "...you found everything alright". They clearly know that their store is not what it used to be. read more

I went here a long time ago when I used to live in Woodland but I remember this grocery store as being HUGE. They have soooo many items here; I think I became a little overwhelmed from walking down the aisles. I love the affordable prices that are offered here. It really helps a college student with buying groceries and cooking meals at home. If I lived in Woodland again, I would definitely be shopping here all the time for food. read more

Food4Less is terrific. Both it, and its owner, Nugget Markets, required customers to wear face coverings early in the pandemic. And, the employees wear their face coverings properly (covering their mouth and nose). The product selection at Food4Less is great, the fruits and vegetables fresh, the employees always friendly. Prior to the pandemic I shopped mostly at Raley's, but for the past few months I have been shopping almost exclusively at Food4Less, and I'll continue to do so once this pandemic is 'over'. read more

I like shopping at Woodland's Food 4 Less and appreciate the specials and low prices. The produce is good and the meat is generally good. However the last two times I have purchased ground beef, it turned bad overnight in my refrigerator. It happened again this week. I bought other meat at another market the same day and it stayed fresh. I won't be purchasing ground beef afrom this store and I hope they look into the problem. read more

My family lived in Woodland for years. This was where we shopped. Prices are always good. The food is decent. The meat department is clean, with many different cuts of meat. The produce department is ok...most of the fruit and veggies are decent, but you get a bit that seems to be at the end of it's life cycle. The store is always clean. We know we are paying for the experience, and not just the groceries when we shop at most stores around here. It's just one of those things we do, because we don't know better. We know there are less expensive, less luxurious stores, but why suffer when we don't have to? I mean, really...saving a few dollars each week isn't worth it... Until it is! Because, I save SEVERAL dollars each week by shopping at F4L. At least 30%, and that was reason enough for me to keep going back, even though I dreaded the bagging bit. All those strangers staring at me, because I take too long to pack up, the agony of putting the bags in my car, AND having to load up the baby. It's a miracle I survived. Seriously, though, the bagging stressed me out, and I almost gave up on getting my hair done professionally (I save THAT much here), so I asked the checker if I was too slow. He told me not to ever think about that, and to take as much time as I needed to properly bag my groceries. Johnny was my guy, and I only shopped when he was working... Until he wasn't. Yikes! He was gone one night, and I needed to feed my baby, and guess what? There were more...helpful employees. Lot's of them, and knowledgeable about their sections, and one day I noticed they all knew my baby's name, and soon after that, the baby began asking for them by name too... So, the moral of that ramble is to illustrate how outstanding the customer service is here, which will make up for the lack of overly priced novelty items displayed directly in front of the dairy section, at the eye level of the children we indulge. I suppose you want to know about the groceries too... The quality of fruits and veggies are similar farmer's market produce, but you don't have to endure the farmer's market vendors and crowds...until they start shopping here too, but... Until then, try something new...save enough money for a date night, and shop locally by trying F4L in Woodland. read more

Produce is always fresh. Store is consistent. Have to bag your own food but it is a fair trade off since the prices are reasonable.

I don't mind bagging my own groceries. Why not? I usually go Bel-Air but if you're looking to save money food 4 less has better bargains.

I love shopping here. Employees are always friendly and helpful if they see you walking down an aisle they're quick to ask if you need help with anything and are very conversation savvy at the cash register.
