6/19/2022 Oh my! Where do I begin? I asked my son to buy the house made bacon..so I could cook with scallops.. Done! The bacon is probably the best I have ever had!!! Crispy and fully of flavor... went so well with my scallops.. Take it up a notch: dry aged rib eye-!!! $42.99 and just weighing in over a lb.. but So delish, melting in your mouth with each slice just so tender... Next trip: dog treats for my furrbabies! Thank you V.Miller for making us have a special Father's Day ever!!! Should I say... meals make memories !

Dry aged rib eye with my secret seasonings. Espresso blend is bomb, but too much brown sugar for charcoal grillin

I love a legitimate butcher shop almost as much as I love legitimate coffee shops. I actually found this shop because another butcher was closed, on Saturday afternoon, at 1 pm. SMH. So, I gotta say this and it's a blanket statement that goes for all butcher shops. Once you try bacon at a butcher shop, you'll never look at your packaged bacon the same way. It's true what they say. Once you go black (coffee that is, silly geese) you just never go back. I bought a pound of the dirty bacon, which is rubbed down with their espresso blend and jts really good. I made an apple, onion and bacon jam for my pork rib eye and that bacon hits different. Not too salty and clearly not soaked in funky solution for shelf life. Fresh, clean, fatty goodness. I have never seen or even heard of a pork rib eye, until this day. I got one and it was absolutely gorgeous. Lots of fattyness and the color was deep and rich and boy. This was an awesome chunk of pig and I devoured every single bite. Cooked to a perfect medium using the MEATER probe and it was delicious. I'll be back for the pork porterhouse next time. I also picked up a dry aged rib eye of beef. That's what you're looking at in my photos. Visually, it was almost perfect. It was not cheap but it never is when you focus on quality rather than quantity. Unfortunately, it ate really dry and I was shocked. As you can see, it was cooked to perfection and allowed to rest. But, it lacked the deep, rich, and robust beefy flavor of a dry aged steak. Bummer because much like myself in school, it had such great potential. The store is tiny but packs a massive punch with lots of fresh sausage, bacon, pork, beef and so many wonderful options. Yes, its expensive. A but too expensive for Sac Town, if you ask me, which you did by reading this. I'll be back for sure and I'll choose some other fun stuff to grill.

This looks like an art display of meat!!

I looooove getting sausages here! I have tried those and the lamb meatballs are to die for. I have not gotten a bad thing here. I have also gotten a few other random things for my doggos like the bones and they used to have some ground up bits I think they sold as dog food. It's been a while so I don't really remember, but they always love a treat from V. Miller. Guys that work here are pretty friendly and will offer you advice on stuff to pair with your meat course. I wanna try the dry aged steaks next time... They look so cool in the display case!!

If you're pheening for that neighborhood throwback, the classic old-school butcher, V. Miller Meats brings it. What's more, they've upped the game to include freezer foods (think chicken pot pies, feijoada, meaty pasta sauce, soups and much more, frozen to just heat/eat), an array of house made sausages, spatchcock chicken, food for your dogs, and just keep going. Need confit for your cassoulet? Bingo. Don't want to cook your own cassoulet? If you're lucky enough to score their 12/30/21 Thursday dinner for two, it's...cassouletl Don't want to cook on Tuesday? Pick up a free-range, locally raised, seasoned and roasted chicken (hanging out on a bed of equally roasted potatoes) to go. Thursday night dinners go fast! Call your order in on Wednesday if you want to get one - it's a rotating menu including meat loaf, Chile verde, beef bourgignone (I have no idea how to spell that) and more. Beef tongue pastrami? Got ya covered. Bone broth? Yup. Fresh smoked ham hocks for your bean soup? Done. Beans for the soup? Yup, they've got local NorCal family farm heirloom dried beans. And on and on. And if you beg them to bring it back, they just might: the frozen short rib Wellington that's a 45-minute, 375 degree drive to dinner-at-home nirvana.

This place is definitely a quality over quantity establishment! I've been looking around for a local butcher that carries good meats for a decent price; while they're meats are quality, it's definitely not a price category that will fit everyone's budget. I decided to go with 4lbs of the brisket, 4 of the burger patties and a bag of jerky. The gentleman that helped was very knowledgeable and answered all my annoying questions haha. They also offer a punch card for every $50 spent (5 punches gets $10 off next purchase). I can definitely see myself returning in the near future.

Do you like meat? You would definitely like this place. After watching a video of an expert analyzing different types of meats (don't ask how I got there), I wanted to eat some delicious meats without paying the price at a fancy restaurant. This place let me achieve that dream! Excellent meat selection and friendly staff. They also have special cooked meals (soup and bento box) on certain days. The food changes every time and the only way to know is through their Instagram... so follow them on Instagram to see what they are selling on that day! The best part is that it's close to my house... so I will definitely be back!

The sliced smoked ham deli meat was inedible. It was mostly fat and way overpriced. We won't be going back.

The sisig chicken was equally impressive, packed with flavor from the Asian marinade and finished with a delicious smoky char. Nox Barbeque truly gets it right. As an Asian American, I've always believed barbecue should come with rice, and I've never really connected with traditional coleslaw. Nox absolutely nailed the balance with their light Asian style slaw and perfectly seasoned rice. It felt both comforting and thoughtfully done. Thank you for creating a barbecue experience that feels both elevated and familiar.

I used to work in the area and I happened to see a flag that said "Caribean". My eyes lit up…read morebecause I am of Puerto Rican descent and anything Caribean I will support. Being in Northern California you won't find too many Caribean spots unless it's Jamaican(I love as well). I decided to stop by at lunch time one day and made an online order of just Yellow Rice and Pigeon Peas, Plantains. When I got there the food was ready and I noticed they had Goya sodas. I am not big on soda but I haven't had one in months so I grabbed it. First off let me say the rice was amazing, soft and flavorful. The name Yellow Rice and Pigeon Peas is the same as Arroz con Gandules which is a Puerto Rican staple. The only difference is ours is more Orange due to the Sazon seasoning. The Yellow Rice was still similar and really good. Paintains were fried perfect, really crisp on the edges which I like. Some places leave them soft or too thick which makes it taste doughy! The second time I went I got the rice and plantains but also the Chicken stew and Mac n Cheese. The Chicken stew had a bold taste, not really spicy and you taste the flavor immediately. It was cooked well and chicken was moist, the stew sauce just made it better. The Mac was probably the only dish that was "Okay". This is likely due to my preference for Southern Mac. This Mac was a tad bit runny with cheese and it had a heat to it like Jalapeno Mac. I got the homemade lemonade for my drink, this was different, not bad but again probably due to my preference of Lemonade. It had a sweet kind of Tampico finish lol. I'm used to the sour then sweet finish I guess but it was still decent. Service was exceptional, food came out quick and hot! 4.5 stars would be my rating but I'm not going to give them 4 stars over lemonade and Mac because I still liked both. 4 stars would be a disservice. I noticed that they only had 1 other customer both times I arrived. This place is way too much to not be busy. Maybe it's the location and lack or banner but I drove by recently and I believe there is a new overhead that says "Caribean Fire Grille".... Please support them.

Ordered plate that came w/ plantain, yam, pork, spicy cabbage (this was bomb with the spinach n okra dish). Also got an empanada which was huge and delicious. It had hardboiled egg and sausage perfectly flavored. The dough wasn't sweet which I liked. It took 10-12 mins to cook as the dough was made fresh. Worth the wait and plan to get again. My kid enjoyed my leftovers too. It is only $9 (listed under appetizer) but honestly large enough for a lunch meal if trying to save $. Wish I took a pic before devouring it! Very welcoming srrvice too.
