We go here often and usually it's good however the last 2 visits for lunch were not. Today the place was very empty @ noon & the hostess begrudgingly gave us a booth after my friend requested it b/c we were a small party.....there were less than a dozen people dining throughout our entire stay. Our food came out wrong, I had order chicken on my Greek quinoa bowl and it was not on it. When I asked the waitress, it took over 1/2 to come out. Later the manager on duty came by to see how our brunch was and we said fine how we two items were wrong & it took a very long time to correct. She answered that our waitress had told her that and that she was glad I liked it. She never asked me how I liked it or apologized/or even acknowledged the mistakes. Our waitress was nowhere to be found for the majority of our time there. I asked for an iced tea refill & she stood @ our table and filled my glass w/ water (which I already had). 2 meals & $83 + tip later .... we will not be back. WOW... and not in a good way. Yesterday, February 7, 2026, I went to Food and Thought for lunch with a friend visiting from Miami. We were looking for a healthy option, and since I had only ever gone there for drinks, we decided to finally try the food. We ordered the mushroom soup and shared the eggplant meatballs. The wrong soup arrived first, and our waitress was mostly nowhere to be found. One server, however, was truly excellent and the only person who seemed to know what was happening. I wish I had gotten his name because he was the only good part of the entire experience and the only reason this review gets two stars instead of one. Now the food... honestly shocking. All three items we tried were simply nasty. Not disappointing. Not underwhelming. Just bad. I expected far more given the reputation behind this place, which made it even more surprising. We've eaten here a couple times and have had great experiences both times. Most recently we brought our kids back for lunch. Server was great addressing an issue (that turned out to have been a misunderstanding) regarding the teriyaki salmon; the dark pieces were purple sweet potato rather than beets (as I'd feared). That item was fine, though not sure I'd get it again. Bloody Mary was both spicy, and a bit watery, at the same time. Their house beer was a better option. Another Visit to Food and Thought 2 and another mediocre showing of bar service. Food is great and the happy hour deals are also popular and worth taking advantage of but the bar service is frequently lackluster. When the bar fills even just a little (15-20 guests) the bartenders lose all sense of serving or checking on guests. Hannah does a great job with a smile on her face but is forced to do tables and service bar and then Im stuck with Justin who usually is very curt and unwelcoming and only will help out after flagging him down. I am a full time resident and have gone to F&T2 regularly over the past few years. We took visitors in January and again on March 30. I was disappointed both times. The quality of food and level of service are noticeably not as good. A simple request like not having food piled up was disregarded. Our waitress seemed disconnected - like she wasn't paying attention. In particular, the pork chop ( which was great ) is now half the size and both times overcooked and dry. This is 4th or 5th time dining here as we've never had a bad experience. A diverse menu is a great excuse to try it again which is something we seldom do in Naples. Far too many choices but here you're pretty safe in finding unique dishes that don't disappoint. As for our salad choice we should've shared one because it is a massive serving. In fact I'd strongly suggest they back off the amount of spinach used because it smothered the other ingredients completely. We have gone to Food and Thought at least six times in the last two months. Whomever did the interior design did one amazing job! Highly recommend the chicken pesto pizza. The pepperoni pizza is amazing but the chicken pesto pizza is wow! I do feel the appetizers are a little pricey such as the Grouper appetizer is $20. While my husband has tried several different drinks I am hooked on the Strawberry Fields Forever. I love me a spicy drink and this hits the mark. I will say the day bartender makes these drinks far better than the evening bartender - from my experience. I'm not sure I would rave about the same drink during the evening time. I am looking forward to the outdoor music when that starts. As annoying as a the politics are, the food for thought downtown is fantastic for folks that are vegan or plant based with so many ready made options. This one is a sit down restaurant and the menu definitely lacks. Not as many healthy options and not executed super well. The beet salad was barely anything just leaves and a few beets. It is the bartenders that also take care of the high tops , so if you do not flag someone to come over you can wait a long time. There should be a server, not a bar tender taking care of the high tops. The pizza flat bread is very good. Fresh from the pizza oven. This is not one of those already made flat bread that the establishment puts on some sauce and cheese and heats up. Burger sliders are also very good. On the down side, the beet salad with added chicken (not on happy hour menu) was awful. Mostly greens, the beets were really just a garnish. The chicken was not made to order. It was cold, overcooked and dry. We sent that back. The manager stated that it was made incorrectly. I hope that they now know how to make it and be sure that the chicken is cooked to order. We came here to celebrate my grandma's birthday and my graduation. While the food was great, the service was disappointing. Our server forgot one of the hamburgers, which came out really late but was still charged. We mentioned both celebrations to someone who seemed to be the manager, but there was no effort to acknowledge them--not even a simple dessert. As someone who works in hospitality, I know how important it is to make guests feel valued, especially when they're celebrating something special. The ladies had dinner salads and seemed to be of a healthy size. we gents tried the on special prime rib which I found to be really GOOD albeit a bit salty for my taste. The seasoned butter on top was scrumptious!!! The steak fries were very good as was the little warm side dish of corn with tomatoes and spices!! The menu is varied enough that I need to back and SOON!!! I had to mark it only 4 stars as to prices. We sat at the bar for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged by the bartender who had double checked several times on other patrons right next to us, the barback seemed to notice and brought menus and offered water. The blonde bartender made eye contact with us three times before another bartender/manager eventually took our order. The experience made us want to leave after one drink each and after we put our card down for another 10-15minutes we waved at the blonde bartender so we could cash out and she waved us off and asked the barback Pedro to handle us. We never engaged with her so we don't know why we were dismissed. Evidently we left a $20 tip for Pedro for taking care us. We felt like we were being dismissed because we were younger than the average patrons. It was very unprofessional. read more

I come here frequently and the to-go staff knows me by my name. I really love that! Generally my experience here is about the same but I can't give it 5 stars because if you're ever there mid day, it seems like the staff is more concerned on whatever they are working on and not paying attention to who is walking in. I try not to go during that time for this very reason. The food is good and tastes organic and clean. Everything I've ordered has been consistent each time I've ordered it. My favorite is the pepperoni pizza, but all their pizzas are good. The banana nut bread French toast is pretty good, too. There's plenty of seating, indoor, outdoor, and at the bar. It's so loud in there with small children going wild. I wanted to leave immediately, this isn't the restaurants fault but what parents or staff just lets children bounce on booth seats and run around barefoot. That's health code violation stuff. The food was ok if you can get a server. read more
