I went to Food Bazaar in Fairview for the first time in MANY MANY years because a vegan friend told me she goes all the time. While I was there I was like OMG why have I not been going here?! Now first to be honest I got ribeye bulgogi yesterday and then I remembered. Like the bad Yelp reviews say, don't get meat there. It goes bad quickly (why I stopped going) and it is very poor choice quality (why I remembered yesterday why I stopped going). While tasty, it was full of gristle and fat. On the other hand, that's the ONLY bad comment I have. And the good news, there are 1000 good reasons to go despite that. The fish was WICKED fresh. Eyes clear etc. price great. Veggies and fruit. All great. Cheese selection amazing. Tons of variety. Honestly it rivals Whole Foods post Amazon now. But it has a great selection of foreign food stuffs too that Whole Foods does not. What a great store!! I feel like this franchise is not consistent with your typical FB as to saw many free samples, which was a pleasant surprise! They also have a big sized parking lot, making it super convenient. This one is located in Fairview and I would say it has food from a global perspective (South American, Korean, Asian) The biggest surprise is that this is the only market where I've seen Blue Fin Tuna carving! We went to Food Bazaar tonight and explored so many cool and new or familiar products. It was a mixture of Turkish, Korean, and other cultures in this huge space. Everything was neatly organized. Bought a pack of pork chops that were supposed to be good until the 9th but I opened the package to find grey, spoiled meat that was slimy, smelly and was forming white pus. As of recently, my fiancé and I have been doing majority of our food shopping here. It is clean and has friendly employees. I also find it nice that it also isn't always overly packed. A little pricey, however their selection is top notch especially when you are looking for a variety of international food items you wouldn't typically find in a normal supermarket. We are huge fans of their meat and fish selection, fresh and delicious! The variety they have is second to none for a supermarket and highly suggest whoever is reading this go check it out. Once you get to know the store it is pretty easy to navigate. Good prices for lesser quality food. The service is horrible, mostly because the majority of the staff is apathetic and just there to collect a paycheck. Additionally, they tell you one thing over the phone, but when you arrive at the store, they don't have what you asked for in person. The misleading information they provide may be due to the language barrier since 1/3rd of the staff cannot speak English, . The interior is a your typical dirty narrow aisle grocery store. read more

This is a rather new supermarket to the area. They have a large selection of foods from a variety of different cultures. I feel that the produce here is not always good. Yesterday I ran in with my husband and all of the strawberries that were on sale were covered in mold. I opted to pass on them. Organic whole milk is also very expensive here. It's one of my go to items for my toddler. I usually only stop in here to grab a few things. Apparently the manager REFUSES to give a discount for bringing your own bags, when you buy more items then you intended and need to use any of their bags. So spend more save less, sorry I'm not buying this rule. The manager should be fired. read more

This is a great addition to the Cliffside Park area for all the Koreans and other Asians/lovers of Korean food! I've been there over the last few years and I'll share what I found out: 1. Spacious and Clean - Space is cavernous and easy to get around. It helps that the parking lot is nice-sized and not too crazy in terms of traffic. 2. Great Meat and Seafood Selection - They have all the cuts that Koreans often are looking for (e.g. sliced ribeye for bulgogi, pork belly, etc.) and have fresh seafood section where you can ask for bags of fresh shrimp and fillet. Quality is pretty good, esp. the meat, and the price reasonable. I found myself getting meat from here over H-Mart on some occasions as H-Mart Fort Lee is pricier in many vis-a-vis comparisons. 3. Caters to Latino Community - Though it does not feel like a Latino supermarket like F.B's other locations, it does have many latino food items in order to cater to the latino community in Cliffside Park/Fairview area. This is a great thing, but it does also mean you might not find some specific Korean packaged goods that you might otherwise find in H-Mart Fort Lee. I experienced this first hand a few times, though not a big deal. 4. Airconditioning is out of control - During summer, this place is WAY too cold, like 45 F inside cold. They might be thinking the whole supermarket is their fridge. I'm not sure what's going on but I'd highly recommend turning that down a notch. 5. Some higher-end items absent - Its positioning is decidedly more blue-collar hispanic customer so you won't find certain higher-end gourmet items here such as whole bean coffee, selections of cheese, etc. So don't come here to get brie cheese with fig jam, for instance. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just a different value proposition. Overall, I highly recommend Food Bazaar for low to mid-end grocery items, fresh and affordable meat/seafood/produce and robust selection of Korean/Asian fares. read more

I go to fairview and wny store. I find farview to be a bit deceptive. You need to watch the price as things ring up. Shelves have one price and when you check out it is more. When you tell them the shelf or produce was marked less at shelf. they send someone out and confirm the shelf price but tell you the higher price is in computer and thats the price. You have to get 5 people to come over and force them to honor price on shelf. They tell you price expired .They have to honor shelf price. Last time I didnt look they got me for about an extra 9 dollars on produce. Also watch expiration dates here. read more

We had a really bad experience at the fairlawn store. We bought three packs of meats and they were all gone bad within three days in the fridge. We called the store right away and they said they have 48 hour exchange and nothing they can do. We used to have great experiences but this is very disappointing. read more

1. This super market is more like a super freezer. You walk in and the place feels like a tri-state polar vortex everywhere in the store. They keep the polar vortex going year round too and makes you wonder how disgustingly high their monthly utility bill must be. Why the hell must the cereal or canned goods isles be as cold as the frozen foods isle. They should give everyone a winter jacket as soon as they walk in to this place. 2. Prices are exceedingly expensive here compared to anywhere else. Basic goods and supplies always seem to cost at least $1-2 more than other super markets nearby and they rarely have any good sales/discounts. 3. If this is your first, second, third, fourth or even you're 36th time visiting, don't expect to find anything you need quickly. The layout of this store and signage is so frustratedly confusing they should seriously give you a map (along with a winter jacket) upon entering. Food bazaar does not take into account the traditional layout of other super markets...that clearly work for customers! It takes me forever to find anything quickly and on top of that I'm rushing to get the F out of there because it's so damn cold! 4. After you've managed to find what ever the heck you're looking for don't expect a quick check out. In what world did they think building 20 or so check out lanes, but then only having 3 or 4 open at any given time was a genius idea? The line is always long and check out is always very slow. To top it off they don't have express lanes, or rather, they don't ever use them. They've built another 5 express lane counters to one side of the store but no one ever opens the lanes. In fact, 4 out of 5 of them have become display areas for useless junk like cheap ass scarves, phone chargers, rain boots, etc. To sum up, if you're in a rush, then don't shop here. If you're a human being and hate freezing your ass off, then don't shop here. If you hate paying for over priced groceries, then don't shop there. read more

My aunt bought 2 packs of short ribs (galbi) here this morning. Both packs looked great from the outside and each bone had meat on it. Unfortunately, only the first layer of meat (what you can see from the picture) was of good quality. She was so upset and felt so cheated when she got home, as the second and third layers were basically just bones with the meat carved off. It is clear that it was intentional because the meatless portions were hidden underneath the one layer of GOOD meat... I didn't want to come to the conclusion that they purposely did this but, seeing past reviews from other customers, it is clear that this is an ongoing issue that they have yet to address and resolve since February. Food Bazaar definitely does have a wide variety of cultural foods however, the way they are running customer service is atrocious. I went to return rosemary for the reason I had an abundance of it at home already, yet I had to go through an obstacle course just to get $2.00 back. I first went to customer service where the gentleman then directed to me to register 13. As I looked over and saw no one there I then asked, "Register 13?" This guy actually verbalized "1-3, 13" to me as if I didn't know English. I waited at the register for 10 minutes for a lady who had the key and knew had to do a return. Perhaps she should be at the customer service desk for situations as these. Next time, I'll take the loss. Also, they are overpriced and pricing is incorrect in the aisles. I'm really disappointed and feel cheated! Bought a pack of short ribs (or what they call flanken ribs) and inside the pack had strips of bones without meat. When looking at the packaging, the outer layer looked like normal slices of meat. Once I got into the package, there were multiple slices where the meat had been carved out and left the bones. Packaging was deceiving and I ended up paying for a string of bones. It's definitely not how the meat is supposed to be, it's obvious that they had cut out the meat and short change paying customers. Pics to be posted. After feeling cheated, I'll never come back here again! Going to three different supermarkets (Costco, Hmart, and Shop Rite) is just worth the hassle than feeling deceived. read more

Thoroughly impressed with the protein and produce section at the Food Bazaar. The have an amazingly large selection of meat, and the quality all look really fresh. They have also got an option for dry aged steaks that I'm eager to try! The seafood section is incredible as well! None of the usual fishy smell at the place at all. Tried some shark steak as well as monk fish. Both were really good. The rest of the store looked solid, but I'd drive out of my way just for their stellar meat and seafood sections. read more

IT IS OPEN as of 12.01.16 I am so happy. Been waiting since original target opening of July 1. This supermarket will be my everyday go to place. It has everything I need and at affordable prices. It has weekly specials across the board. Did I say I am happy. Yes I did. All supermarkets are not created equal. I am very particular about where I shop for my daily food items. Start with proper refrigeration. I need beef, chicken, fish, diary, etc. all to be at proper temp; cold. I need fresh produce. Fresh bread. Deals and more deals. Everything I saw from produce dept to fish dept to meat dept all looked good. Bright colors, firm product and options. Lots of options for each area. I was a huge fan of the LIC location. When I moved to Cliffside Park, I had some issues finding my go to supermarket. While I found a couple of places. I was not 100% happy. I am selfish. I want it all. Affordability, deals and options. Plenty of parking. Credit Cards. Overall, Food Bazaar will rock. On opening day it was packed. It was a happening seen. OK, maybe it was not hipster happening, but it was rocking; lol. If you live in the area you will certainly find everything you need and be a happy camper. read more

Impressive is what I mur mured while walking thru their meat, seafood and other sections of this market. First off, location is easy to find as it is off of intersection of Edgewater road and Anderson ave in Cliffisde park. Parking is abundant which is always a plus. Started from the produce section thru seafood, meat, bakery so on and so forth. Seafood section was large and had various fish and shell fish. Found a whole octopus (which is pretty hard to come by in this size) for a very good price. Also picked up several types of fish such as salmon, grouper, fish heads etc. Then went on to meat section. Saw that they sell meat in different size packaging. There were so many types of meat by part and by size. Also picked up several types of meat including whole ox tail and ox feet. But, best of all, there is was... the dry aged beef in specialty fridge! I was so tempted to buy some prime rib but had to hold myself back for the time being. They also have variety of breads, dairy, prepared food, ethnic foods, Korean groceries ( including kim-chi) and more. Overall, this market offers value, quality and friendly service. Received my response back from Food bazaar apparently the fact that I had a mask that was uncomfortable was my problem that I wasn't breathing properly and the only way I could get another mask was to purchase one for a dollar I guess that's why I will never go back to food bazaar again I think it's tragic when a regular customer who is having a problem with their own mask cannot get one of those blue surgical mask just to use for while they're shopping in your store I don't understand how this is possible thanks for your response whoever you were from food bazaar it was very very consistent with the way all of your customers are treated at that store you order check the other reviews on that store you might be surprised what you'll find read more

I purchased a product that was spoiled but didn't open it until a few days later when I was going to consume it. When I opened it, it was spoiled, went to the supermarket and the manager refused to refund or credit because a few days had passed. I was under the assumption that I had 7 days to exchange it but the manager refused because they have a 24 hour policy. He was rude and refused to reason with us. The worst part of that we have loyally shopped there for 4-years on a weekly basis. I will never shop there again. read more

If there is one thing I really love about this supermarket is their Asian section and the bakery. They always have some new goodies in here that look good enough to eat. For my friends bday I ran out of places to look for a birthday cake and my mom recommended that I checked food bazaar. They had so many chocolate cakes but my friend was allergic. Thankfully after searching through the fridge, they were able to find a strawberry tree Leche Cake that had just been made that day and it looked amazing! I got it for my friend and he loved it. For me this store seems unorganized and hard to navigate. That said I really don't do supermarket/food shopping much, but I think the overall aisles and store could have been set up better. Not sure if ownership changed or if they just started buying produce from a cheaper provider. In the beginning the produce was amazing. Now much of it is rotten, beat up or moldy (yuca are usually covered in mold). Today I went to buy meat and the entire area smelled like raw sewage. I asked staff what it was and nobody would give an honest answer. I shop here frequently since they opened, and I tried to speak to management about the produce. I'm not a complainer type and I want this place to do well because I actually love the variety here. The produce manager was EXTREMELY nasty. Told me that it was my problem and that the produce was good. Literally walked away from me while I was talking and I was definitely being polite. Stay away from this establishment... Rude manager, wrong prices, rotten or expired and expensive prices... Every time I shopped here, I found mistakes in the prices charged; but nothing major, until today. We bought ground beef, it was prepackaged by another vendor, but weighed and priced by food bazaar. We got two packages of ground beef, they looked similar in size although one read 1.05 lbs and the other nearly 2 lbs. upon weighing them myself the actually weight of the second one was 1.12 lbs. not 2 lbs as they claim. I took it back to the store, and spoke to the manager; she asked me if I wanted the money back or to return the item! Extremely cold, and didn't bother to apologize... I picked another two packages, she dared ask me for $3.07 more. I told her I had to come out in the snow to correct their mistake... any other respectable establishment would've been glad to give it to me for free, with a big, humble apology...in a very rude manner she said" we don't do that here"! I am done doing business with a store that charges $12 for a pound of ground meat and call it 2lbs. The place is dirty, very cold, and run by rude people. read more

This place has the worst customer service. The girl at the cash register that was checking out my order was on her cell phone and double charged me for a product because she was not paying attention to her job but was balancing the phone while trying to ring me up. I went back later that evening to request a refund for the item I was double charged for and they refused my refund because they said I didn't bring the product back for them to scan the specific item. I asked the manager to go herself and find the I asked for a store manager and he has to go back and review the camera to see if I am lying or being honest. I'm now waiting for the store manager to review the camera for 30min. Do not go to this store ever. They are not capable of handling a simple $4 refund because they will assume you are just trying to scam them into receiving a refund. read more

This supermarket is actually good. Sadly, I won't be returning because of my experience at the very last moment. It's inexpensive and you can find pretty much everything here at great low prices. They have tastings going on too which is good. Large meat and seafood section. They also have a great variety and Korean and Latin foods. I am giving this one star because of what I heard an employee say at check out. I was paying for my groceries, when I heard the security guard/cop (late 20s) say some pretty disturbing comments. There was an old man prob 70-80s with a cane, seemed to be like he was stealing and he's done it before. I hear the security guard tell the cashier, " I swear let the old man steal that salmon again and I'm going to beat the shit out of him." The cashier proceeds to tell him "shh, be nice he's also handicap and old". The security guarresponds with "I don't give a shit of he's old or handicap, I'll beat the shit out of him and make him more handicap". Now another old man is leaving in a wheelchair. The guard then starts singing "they see me rollinnn" mocking the old man. I will not be going here and I do plan to complain to mgmt and I will not reccomend this supermarket to others.
