Where do I even start. This place literally never misses. I have been here probably over 100 times and never been disappointed. Always a go-to spot and always will be. I usually get the sesame chicken or the sweet and sour chicken combo. The sesame chicken is literally the best I have ever had. It's extremely fast, I usually call ahead to order and go pick up. Take out is their jam. I love their egg drop soup and their Singapore Mei Fun is the best!

We have been going to this restaurant for ~20 years. It used to be the very best. However, first they changed their egg rolls to a cheaper less tasty version. Next, they changed their noodles that go in the soups to a cheaper version that we had no interest in. Recently, we got some house rice that had old tasting things in it. Also, it is inconsistent. We no longer go to this restaurant. I realize that costs were cut to maybe stay in existence but I think this can ruin a restaurant. It is a shame and we miss the good old days when it was a great place. read more

This place rules. Awesome food, done in mere moments after you place your order, and it is GREAT. Seriously, there isn't much Asian food in this neck of the woods and these guys could coast by being mediocre if they wanted to, but it's legit. All of it. Not sure if you can dine in or not, my Airbnb was a block north so I just walked home with my bag of hot treasures. The interior is pretty bleak but clean- cases of soda and boxes of to-go containers are stacked neatly around the walls, but if you're basing any Asian restaurant on its decor you're clearly not very good at eating. I've been living in some cities for a while, but moved back to OBNY, to care for my mother. Chinese takeout is very important to me, and Food King is the best in the area. I'm so happy they're here! It's a no-frill store front with brilliant takeout. Not a sit-down place, but they've got all the utensils and condiments you need to-go. I love the hot and sour soup (full of pork, tofu and mushrooms). The egg rolls are good, and the Buddhist Delight is my go-to. Fresh and so yummy! I also recommend a side of fried scallops, or the spare ribs. The won ton soup is loaded with plump little won tons and also very great. Service is always kind, prompt and friendly. You can't miss with Food King. And it's so affordable! I kinda wish they would bring back moo-shu. Maybe someday? :) read more

Omg. What happened to this place!! They have taken covid to the extreme. It is strictly take out now. You walk into a walled off little corridor with no air. You order your food through tiny holes in a plexiglass wall. You get your food and pay through separate box openings. The handles of which are touched by every human that walks in there. We ordered a lot of food and it was almost all horrible! The wonton soup was almost Coca Cola dark and salty as hell. The pork egg rolls were a salty mush and burnt on the outside. The happy family was anything but happy. The chicken Lo Mein was actually OK. The Chicken with Chinese vegetables had bok choy and carrots and one pea. We had more food but honestly this place sucks. $70 down the toilet. If I was not concerned about the poor fish in the Lake water, I would have flushed the food down the toilet too. So sad read more

When we lived in bigger cities in Arizona and Idaho, we had several Chinese takeout or buffets to choose from, and all were a disappointment. We only have one here in Newfane, and I'm not sure how far we'd have to drive to find another, but I'm glad we never have to. This place is excellent. I can't believe we haven't it tried until now, but it is cash only, which doesn't lend itself well to impulse dining. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it's clean and spacious with a few small tables if you want to dine in. The menu is large and fairly standard but the execution is solid, and it's a good value in terms of price and portions. Service was fast and efficient. My husband liked his General Tso's chicken even though it could use a little more heat. My sons and I shared the sweet and sour chicken. The sauce is on the fluorescent side, but it's orange red instead of hot pink. The chicken batter wasn't too heavy. My only real disappointment is that the crab rangoon, while big and golden, was low on crab meat and heavy on green onions. Regardless I look forward to trying other menu items the next time we feel like takeout and actually have cash. I'm not sure if it's the norm, but they threw in a bonus eggroll. None of us like eggrolls, but one of our dogs ganked it so I guess we'll be getting their impression later. Update: the sesame shrimp is so, so good. read more

I first went to Food King on a work call. Went into kitchen and was shocked. They had 5 guys cleaning from the top down. The place was spotless. Went back to eat and the food was great. Not expensive by any means. The owners run the place and are absolutely a pleasure to deal with. I now get take out from here on a regular basis. read more

The only reason I'm giving this restaurant four stars is because it's been a family tradition to get take-out here one weekend per month for decades. HOWEVER, don't let that turn you off. If you're in the mood for completely non-authentic, quick, cheap Chinese food and find yourself far north of Buffalo, you'll be A-Okay. The food is good and the restaurant (unlike other Chinese take-out places in the area) is squeaky clean. My personal favorites: General Tso's chicken, beef with broccoli, chicken/shrimp lo mein and their sugar donuts (I could eat an entire box by myself). They have a great lunch menu: less than $6 for a main course and rice, and drinks are very cheap. And if you're in the mood for hot tea while you wait, they always have fresh, boiling green tea available for free. read more

The food's not overly greasy and the place is pretty clean. I usually roll with chicken and snow peas but everything I've had here has been pretty satisfactory. There are not a lot of food options in the Newfane area so a quick lunch stop in Food King was exactly what we needed. The place was empty when we stopped in just after 1 pm. There are a few tables available inside for dining in but as we sat in to eat, several patrons came through to get their takeout. All three of us got the lunch combo special and it is a decent amount of food for a really cheap price. The quality of the food is not the greatest chinese food I have ever eaten but it was not the worst either. The hot and spicy chicken was a little bland for my taste but I appreciated that it was not overly salty. The seating area and the bathroom was clean so not much more than we could ask for. We travel through this area once a year so I would stop again but would try something different. read more

Cleaner than most chinese places. Good food at a reasonable price. Ordered the Won Ton soup as a side and it was a little cold. The Pepper staeak had lots of fresh peppers and onions and was quite good. The fried rice was generic yellow rice with not much else. I'll be back if I ever find myself in Newfane again. read more

Best Chinese place in western New York. Food is great and is prepared super quick. Definitely recommend it.

Service can come off sharp however food is hands down best I've ever had. Cash only service I assume because people can be thieves and purchase food with a bad check. Costs restaurant money to accept credit cards although it would be nice if they did. All that aside its absolutely worth it. It was the worst food I ever had.Crab Rangoon with no dropping sauce ,were not very good,Mir fun which is my favorite ,but I gave all of it to my dogs,lo mein had no flavor ,n the fried rice well I did not know what I was eating,found not tell by the flavor ,last we had dragon & Phoenix which turned out to be haft a container of general tos chicken on one side n shrimp in white sauce on the other side that mixed together by the time I got it home.i throw away almost $40.00 away .well my dogs will eat it for the few days .i will never go there again I will drive the 20 miles to a Chinese restaurant I gave it NO STARS read more

Good food at reasonable price. Very clean, which was a great surprise. When I called to order our dinner, I was half way through the order, the person on the other end asked for my phone number and then hung up on me!! I had to call back to complete the order!
