I had a cup of Czarnina. The Polish duck blood soup was full of prunes, kluski and raisins. The correct amount of sugar and vinegar really made it delicious. You can't find this often so, order it when you can. I asked if she made the soup but she confessed it was her mother-in-law who makes it. The menu is simple with regular sandwiches and some entrees like meatloaf , a Polish platter, fried chicken and of course a Friday fish fry. I had a fried bologna sub with onions and peppers. The perfect thickness and plenty of onions made it memorable. Sandwich's come with chips and a pickle. Mary enjoyed some bologna as well. The waitress chatted a bit about the upcoming Easter holiday and made mention of their Dyngus day party. It sounded fun but I already have parade plans. I enjoy the small taverns that used to be on every corner. This one fits the bill as it's like a time capsule of neighborhood life.
