This location is pretty typical for a Food Lion with a few exceptions. There's a few pluses that makes this store better. I like shopping here. As you enter and turn to the right you are in the deli section. You then enter their produce section. The produce department is sectioned off and well stocked. They have a few more items than the other F.L.s in the area. The wine aisles are another bonus for this store. The shelves throughout the store are nicely stocked. The best thing about this store is the checkout process. They seem to always have enough cashiers working hard to get you checked out and on your way. Tonight they had five registers open during a non-peak time. The employees were friendly. It really takes the stress out of grocery shopping!

The manager was called for a question and came over right away!

I headed over to Food Lion to pick up a few items, and it appears that Food Lion has stepped up their game! The store has been remodeled, it is very clean, the shelves are neatly stocked, there's a new dedicated fresh produce section and a new wine area with a pretty decent selection of vino! Another great change is more employees who are quite pleasant and professional with new uniforms walking the store and readily available near the check out counters to better serve customers! Let's now forget to mention the large selection of items on sale!

Flowers and Sparkling Wine in case celebration or romance is in order.

My neighborhood TJs is fantastic for its wine selection. I do my wine fridge restocks and walk away with anywhere from 14-16 btls in the $100-120 range depending on how thrifty I'm being. Most Sundays they have a little wine tasting w/featured btls and the staff always make great recommendations! One guy, who had seen me in before, told me they were discontinuing a btl and it was deeply discounted...I walked away w/4 btls thnx to the tip! You gotta luv when you're a regular somewhere and the business still sees value in that! My only gripe here has been their plant selection of late. I LOVE getting houseplants here and adding to my collection, but the last 2 I have gotten here (one was an orchid) have not lasted. I'm not a green thumb per se, but I know how to keep plants happy & thriving...I was especially devastated about my orchid! So, the quality of the offerings has been subpar and the selection hasn't been as great as it once was. Hoping that changes cuz nothing makes me happier than walking out w/a cart full of wine and a few new plant babies!

I highly recommend!…read more Now I'm going to officially share my secret: Compare Food has a hot food bar, and this is where I get my oxtail plates! They are reasonably priced and extremely delicious. The service is always prompt and friendly, and the ambience of the entire store is always squeaky clean. I love this Compare Foods location. They have so much to offer from their baked goods section, hot foods, fresh fish, wonderful selection of tropical produce. Yesterday I went and visited to get me two oxtail plates and I did come towards the closing time of the hot food bar so there was not a lot of options. I was OK with it because they had enough oxtail and I was grateful for. I got one plate of oxtails, white rice and plantains and my second plate was oxtails, Spanish rice, and plantains. They also have a fresh juice option behind the hot food bar, and all of their fresh juices are excellent. I love the mango and soursop. Those are my two favorite. I highly recommend you go and support our local compare foods and I hope your experience is just as as well as as mine!

So the good is they have the best price limes in all of Concord 10 limes for a dollar the bad is; everything else is a bit pricey, and the confusing is the huge jewelry and perfume kiosk in the middle of the store next to the produce. All in all, the store is clean and well stocked.

You have found your area Butcher shop!…read more This butcher shop has the meats! They have many precut and portioned options that you cannot get in grocery stores, but they also have a full service area where you can ask questions and get customized help! There are pre-made meals, sides , seasonings & other accoutrements available for your complete meal. My experience here has been a positive one for several years and I always recommend this butcher/grocer to our Airbnb guests and friends/family. Will you upgrade your meat buying experience!?

My most recent visit to The Stock Market was on a Thursday evening this past July. On a previous…read morevisit to the Concord/Charlotte area, we found The Smoke Pit when searching online for a good barbeque spot near our location. Since they are in the same building, we also discovered The Stock Market. We love the restaurant so much and returned on this trip to the area, so we also made a return trip to the butcher shop this time around. The Stock Market is located on Concord Parkway, just a few minutes off of 85. It is in its own building that is half restaurant and half meat market, but all the same entity. There is plenty of parking in front and on the side of the building. However, it seems to fill up with all of the patrons coming and going! You will have no issue locating the place, as it is clearly marked with signage. Just note that the hours for the store differ from the restaurant, with the store closing earlier. We stopped here just after 5:00 PM, and it was not terribly busy. There is usually a lot of action in the area due to the restaurant, but the market portion has never been overwhelmingly crowded when I have visited. There is a lot of signage to direct and instruct patrons to the correct side of the building for the market. After you enter on the right side of the building, you walk right into the store. This shop is definitely a true butcher shop. There are so many different types and cuts of meat. Fresh, frozen, shelf-stable, and more varieties await you. There are other select grocery items, but you would not be able to complete all of your typical grocery shopping at this one store. They also sell bones and specific items for dogs. We bought our dog a bone, and he loved it! As stated, there are fresh and frozen meat options available. The selection is great, and you are able to find a lot of different types and cuts not typically available in a traditional grocery store. Most of the meat seems to be prepared in-house, but there are also some name-brand items throughout (such as for sausage). There are a lot of options already on the shelves, but I would assume if you were looking for something specific that it could be cut and packaged right there. In the back, there is a fresh meat counter where you can pick your exact weight and have it packed right there. A deli counter is beside it, offering lunch meats and cheeses. It did not look like they produce their own lunch meats, but it is an option if you are in the store. There were also some hot, ready-to-eat items in this area too. There are signs hanging advertising the different bundles that you can buy. There is a Chicken Bundle, Beef Bundle, and Pork Bundle, which all contain 5 different varieties of the respective meat. The total weight is around 25 pounds per bundle. The Variety Bundle allows you to mix and match 5 different types of meat, each in 5 pound increments. This would be a nice way to try different types and cuts of meat or to stock up your freezer. The prices here are decent and comparable to any other meat store. They had a deal on select packages that you could mix and match to get 5 packages for $29.99, presumably presenting some savings. There was also a discount freezer in the rear of the store with items marked down to half off. Though, for the quality of meat and vast selection, the prices here are not too bad. Each time I have visited the store, the staff has been kind and helpful. There are cashiers up front, as well as deli and counter staff in the back ready to serve the customers coming in. We have enjoyed stopping into The Stock Market when we find ourselves eating at The Smoke Pit. It is a nice butcher shop with a good amount of variety and fresh items. The prices are fair, and all of the staff is friendly. Would recommend giving this spot a try if you are local to the area!
