It's a neat setup with some cool signage and excellent customer service. The parking lot is a bit tight. While here... A lady was asking the worker behind the counter: "Is it Muffin Monday?" "I'm not sure. I don't think I've ever heard of Muffin Monday." When I went to the front to check out, I asked one of the employees if it was Muffin Monday. This was supposed to be a private conversation, but she then shouted across the cash-out area to another employee: "Hey, Brad! Is it Muffin Monday?!" "What's Muffin Monday!?" he shouted back. I intervened: "It's okay. I don't even eat muffins."

I've been super excited about this new grocery in our area! I've heard mixed reviews, but I wanted to check it out for myself. Stopped in on a weekday afternoon, just after the lunch crowd and my eyes were constantly moving as I walked around - so much to see. I understand that this is a special concept that they're trying in Huntersville, and I like that each department's decor has its own unique theme. Since I heard good things about the food I decided to check that out. There are multiple stations where you can order, including Smokehouse (BBQ), Chicken Kitchen and Sammy's (sandwiches). There's also a beer den where you can sit and enjoy a nice cold one in the store. I ordered smoked wings, salt and pepper flavored, at Smokehouse for the road. It's not a huge store, but I think they made really good use of the space and they seem to have a nice variety of items even though it's smaller quantities than some stores. I didn't look too closely at the pricing, but just based on the items in stock, I'd say it's probably more of a specialty store where you can grab items in a pinch or grab unique items than a place where you'd do regular shopping. They don't have very many checkout lanes - again it's not a huge store - but they have a couple of self checkout options which is nice. Parking is plentiful too. As for the wings, they were flavorful, but they were not crispy at all. The skin was soft, which I don't really care for, so I probably wouldn't order those again. But I'd come back for other items.

I enjoy having Lowes open in Huntersville. The last time I shopped there was when they had a location near West WT Harris Boulevard. They have what you need when you can't find it elsewhere. I noted the beer/coffee/food area is right inside when you enter. It was a brisk night and the cool air was flowing in from the entry/exit doors. This area might have been served better a little further back and to the side of the store. Otherwise, yes, they should have everything you need. I noted the prices are a bit higher than the other grocery stores. With a coupon, you may make out better. Be sure to do the math.

I have eaten several meals here over the last month. I have to say, I truly believe they are better than 95% of the restaurants in the area. This morning I am having a Sammy Sunrise and iced coffee for under $7. You truly cannot beat the prices. I'll be back this evening to grab a beer and a plate of smoked wings!

Love the store and the set up but don't get the ribs from the Smokehouse shop. They are dry and overcooked with no sauce.

Heard great things about your store. Any chance you'll be opening in the Steele Creek area where the old Earth Fare was?

Did I mess up or play it right?…read more I went to get my Bings, which are healthy energy drinks. I usually go to Harris Teeter but I know the Food Lion in Mooresville has them on sale so wanted to check this one out. They did indeed have Bings on sale, but only for one flavor, which I had never seen before. That being the case, I took my 12 Bings (three on sale if by flavor) and went to the register to inquire. Up until this point, I was a normal, logical, and respectful human being. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how long that lasted. I approached the cashier and put the Bing-filled handheld basket on the stationary conveyor belt and looked at the cashier but she was violently cross-eyed. No big deal but just not something I expected so I froze for a brief second. Maybe five seconds. "What?" she said. "What?" I replied as if me staring at her for five full seconds was normal and I didn't understand her question. "You're staring at me because I'm cross-eyed." "Me?" I pointed to myself. "No. I didn't even notice that." I was taught as a child that the only good lie was a white lie to protect someone's feelings. "Yes you were." "Okay, maybe, but I was just admiring how beautiful it is because, figuratively speaking, it's like being at the beach and the mountains at the same time. "The beach and the mountains, dude?" She just stared at me. I think. It wasn't going well and without saying a word, I picked up my basket and headed toward self-checkout. Along the way I mumbled to myself out loud: "Just tying to help the human race by not using self-checkout but whatever." So, if you saw a dude that looks like me mumbling to himself in the store, that was me. Or if you just saw a dude that looks like me, that was probably me anyway. As for the store, and aside from this embarrassing experience, the lady at the self-checkout area confirmed that only one flavor was on sale (odd), but it was a simple and easy checkout experience. However, I grabbed one of those $1 packets of vanilla wafers along the way and later learned they tasted like coffee-flavored cardboard. Avoid those! But now it motivates me to get the regular vanilla wafers because they are great. Maybe the store does this on purpose. If so, genius move. The staff here is hit and miss as are the prices. The vibe of this whole shopping center has gone downhill over the years due to Huntersville getting greedy and overbuilding everywhere. It's not about top-line growth; it's about quality of life. Your greed has backfired and you have failed miserably. Your legacies are destroyed forever. For a better shopping experience and great prices, go to Aldi across the street but Food Lion isn't bad, it just Food Lion. It's the supermarket equivalent to McDonalds. You just need to know what to expect.

Back in my earlier days when I worked in the Hunterville Businss Park as a Chemist for one of the…read moretenants, this was a place I would occasionally go to to pick up something to take home for dinner. Just married and Susan had not moved down yet so a number of very quiet dinners but not by choice. Occasionally dropped in to pick up something after Susan moved down from Pittsburgh but this was never our go to store for groceries and provisions. At that time, store impressed me as having a limited selection and very much a German store with its offering. Store appeared somewhat dated. Time moves forward and I have been to a number of other Aldi's since in Cornelius, Mooresville, Statesville and more recently, Denver when we moved here. It was after moving to Denver and shopping at Aldi's that I began to change my opinion and now I shop here several times a month. Still get the bulk of my produce from Publix, meat from Harris Teeter and dry goods from WalMart this presents a unique niche that I like. Went back over to Huntersville a couple of weeks ago and generally twice a year, they have events where they showcase German food items. This was the fall event and one of my favorites. (Remember that Aldi's and Trader Joes share a common heritage through Albrecht's in Germany) Normally I'll stock up on German cuts of meats, condiments such as Spicy Brown Mustard, Pastries, Spices etc (Note: Aldi's is the go-to place for Spices) Back in the old days, they did not take Amex but now they do. Still have to rent the carts for a quarter which is a distraction because I rarely carry change anymore. If you have a quarter, you will get it back and if you don't, look around because someone else will ultimately check in a cart and leave the quarter in it. Just play it forward and leave the quarter in the cart for the next person. They are like Costco with no bags at checkout but you can scarp a box on exiting. If you're looking for something with a European Feel with good value, this would be good place to check out. It was a big improvement from the first time I went years ago because it looks like the store has undergone at least one remodel and the product selection is better and the value is great. HIghly recommend.

Chicken breasts are also a good choice, but they're less expensive in Harris Teeter. Other stuff? Always inexpensive. Dairy, cheese, sliced meats, produce and the like. You will absolutely save money at ALDI. A couple of things. During the pandemic, they were skipping the rental on shopping carts but that's back now. You will need to bring a quarter for the shopping cart and you'll get that back when you return it. You'll also be bagging your own groceries so remember to bring your reusable bags or you can buy some from the shop. It's always possible that they may have some cardboard boxes available but not definite. Great shop and a friendly person who rang up my sale. I'm especially pleased now that ALDI accepts AmEx as I get 12x points for groceries! [Review 13424 overall, 743 of 2020.]
