If you're looking for a burger this is the place. With no less than 73 burgers on the menu you should be able to find one to fit your taste. We were in for breakfast and it wasn't bad at all. I had the breakfast burrito that was wrapped in an omelet instead of a tortilla. Different but pretty good. The wife had a pancake the size of a dinner plate. Our server was very friendly and on the ball. She even took the time to chat a little. The place is clean and nicely decorated. I should have known better. But I wasn't feeling like a burger so the special was grilled or battered shrimp. So I got the battered. I didn't think I needed to clarify The battered shrimp. Typical foodservice battered is a wet battered breading and breaded is a light dry breading or panko breading etc. Well my battered shrimp was similar to a Vankamps butterflied breaded shrimp. Not what I expected from an "authentic made" Resturant. It was disappointment. Everyone else got burgers and a Rueben and they were fine. Service was great and was towards closing time so wait time was 10 mins. There is not a ton of dining space not a good place for larger groups. I am going to leave a very honest but fair review of Foodie Garage. I have been here multiple times for Brunch. The food is always delicious and amazing. Servers are friendly and delightful. Prices are fair. Where they go wrong is the waiting time- on every aspect. *** If coming for Brunch, make sure to have 2-3 hours of time. Do not come here if you are not willing to wait or are in a rush. *** This is not a one off thing. I have been here 8 or 9 times for brunch. Every. single. time. there is a wait. Foodie is always busy for brunch and for good reason- because the food is the bomb. Brunch ordering ends at 11. And regardless of when you get here- between the small sized interior and the demand- you will be waiting. I timed it this time: You walk in. You get told 10-15 minute wait. No waiting area. Wait either in your car or outside. Ask to put your name on the list. No buzzers or calling to let you know. They will just peek outside and it is up to you to see it or keep going in to check. My 15 minute wait turned into 25. And I was lucky. It is sometimes longer (if you are willing to sit it out ). You order. They are busy so be flexible. Servers are amazing and accommodating. I waited a full hour for my food since I placed my order. That was this time. I was by myself but when I came other visits alone or with my partner this wait is pretty consistent. Expected 30/45 mins to an hr+. The servers will always apologize for the wait, but this is not a one-off thing. The kitchen timing is what always slows the food down. Food is amazing. It is always consistently good. I have not been past brunch, but this is the best Country Fried Steak brunch I have had in the Dubuque area thus far. Bloodys here are awesome too. No beer chaser, but they have regular sized bottles to order. I have never had bad food here. I come back time and again because it is delicious. But the Brunch wait is why I won't frequent here as often. I would come back more or even recommend to friends and family from out of town, but I don't because most people I know would not put up with this outrageous waiting time. **In Summary: Food and Service amazing. Wait time is downfall. - Average wait time during visit: - Arrived at 9:45. - told 10-15 min wait. - Luckily got table at 10:15. - Put drink and food order in. Drink came within a few minutes. - Got food at 11:15. (1 hour after seated). - Left by 11:45 I really enjoy coming here. I just wish they could figure out the timing. If you walk in for brunch and see the place packed, (unless there are people leaving soon) find somewhere else to go if you are not willing to make the time to wait it out. I went here for a date night and it was great. We had one of the specials, grilled cheese pulled pork on Texas toast. It was delicious. We upgraded to the sweet potato fries. 9am on a Sunday. Parking out front on the street and we walked in and sat with no wait. They have specials on the white board and the server Emily was on top of it. The decor was race car themed or just motor theme. We were offered drinks and she came right back to check on us. Small diner but could fit a good amount of people. We didn't take long to pick our food. The breakfast burrito seemed the way to go. Threw size of the burrito is shareable. I really loved how the egg was the same shape as the whole burrito shell. Not scrabble but almost like part of the shell. Then all the meat and goodies were inside served with salsa and sour cream. We shared the burrito and we're both full after. First glance it looks a little run down and divey, but it's actually amazing! Their air conditioner wasn't working the best, but it's not their fault it's August 1st and a million degrees outside. Their ice machine was also on the fritz, but our waitress made sure we got a cup as soon as she could. The menu is HUGE! All 3 of our meals were amazing. Absolutely amazing. I am stuffed. I'd love to bring my burger-loving husband here some day. We didn't catch our waitress' name, but she was a cute, young blond woman and she was great. Stopped at this place while driving thru town. Small restaurant, very clean, car themed, seat and decor. Waitress was quick and attentive. Huge burger selection, very difficult to make a choice. Stopped in on a Sunday morning around 8am to have breakfast before hitting the road. Cool restaurant and decor! Brick interior with metal accents and old car parts throughout, even a booth made out of a car. Our server was great, I didn't catch her name though. I was torn between the hash browns or American potatoes, but she said the American potatoes were amazing and her favorite so that's what I went with. She wasn't lying, they were so good and full of flavor! My dad got the hash browns and wished he'd gotten the American potatoes after he tried mine. We both ordered the 2 eggs, meat, potatoes, toast. First time here and I am so impressed! I was expecting a large sports bar atmosphere, and was pleasantly surprised with the cozy feeling of "home". Angelica was so welcoming the moment we walked in and her energy was infectious!! Haylee was our sever and she was one of the best servers I've ever encountered. I spent 28 years in food service and would have killed for a staff like this! Even a couple of the cooks came out and had conversations with the table. This had easily become my favorite burger joint and I plan to make it back enough times to try every burger on the menu. I also cannot say enough good things about the amazing French fries either! Very delicious! i highly recommend the Elvis Burger, a burger that has a pretzel bun the patty, bacon, cheese and peanut butter. When i saw that it had peanut butter on it i was unsure but after tasting it everything compliments each other. While exploring the Great River Road, I had a night in Dubuque and decided to check out the Foodie Garage with a to-go order. I was immediately and warmly welcomed, my order taken, and I grabbed a seat for what was a surprisingly short wait, given that everything is made to order. I got the Hawkeye, one of about 57 amazing different burger creations on their menu. This had a fried breaded tenderloin, 1/3 pound beef patty cooked to order, bacon, cheddar cheese, sauteed onions, raw onions, tomato, lettuce, and bun (and this is nowhere near the largest offering). Trying to unhinge my jaw to get all the flavors in one bite was almost impossible, but I did my best. I got it with sweet potato fries, which were delicious. The burger was impossible and decadent and wonderful, and noticing the prominent sign in the place saying "Leftovers are for Quitters" was a bit daunting, but I managed to finish it. read more

I will start off by saying the staff was very friendly, attentive and kind. There are tons of burger choices. That's probably the best thing on the menu. Prices are kind of steep considering the quality, the cheese curds, fries all frozen and served. $10 for not fresh cheese curds is pretty steep. The fries tasted old and frozen, the burger however was fresh. The price definitely doesn't reflect the quality of the food, would not return again. read more

I ordered the crispy chicken bacon ranch wrap for $10 and upgraded to the sweet potato fries for an additional $2 and both were great. I stopped here for breakfast while I was in town because the country fried steak picture looked like it had good gravy on it. The place is weird because it has a long bench in the middle of the room that separates the dining area into two rooms. It turns out that the country fried steak is not house made so I ordered something that I have never ordered before which was the breakfast special Prime Rib and eggs with toast and hash browns. The toast options were the generic three. I ordered a Bloody Mary with my breakfast and to my amazement it's a house made blend that was sweet and oddly good with bacon bits in it, definitely a unique version. The food took longer than average to get out to the people I noticed. My Prime Rib breakfast looked pretty good I must say. I ordered my hash browns with onions which were sweet onions and gave my hash browns an overall sweet flavor. The Prime Rib was in a sweet brown sauce and for the most part tender and very tasty. I'm definitely noticing that three of my items had a sweet taste so the cook must like sweet tastes. read more

Everything started out strong. Drink order taken fast and came out quick, food order in immediately after. Our server was on top of the fact the item I wanted was insanely spicy and made sure to ask if I was okay with things hotter than ghost peppers. They suggested a different burger that was still spicy but wouldn't melt my face off. Good idea. Every burger (seriously about 45 different burger options) could have a veggie patty or chicken breast to substitute the beef if you desired. I think that's excellent. I happen to like a veggie burger, but please keep the bacon on it . Our orders came out fast and almost correct. Not a big deal. I asked for regular fries, got sweet potato fries instead. Can't really complain because they were actually the best ones I've ever had. My mom asked for no side and it still came with the default of potato chips. Oh well. This review sounds nice, why three stars? While we were enjoying our food and raving about how good it was, the pest control guy came in and sprayed for bugs less than 20 ft from our table. I get this has to happen and it may not indicate a gross place.......but while we're eating? We were then so focused on him, watching where he sprayed on the floor that we then started seeing how dirty it was in there. The floor was littered with crushed food and old, crumpled napkins. While taking in the messy floor, we started to be able to smell the fumes from the spray and then the cook came out front with his messy towel tucked in his belt covered in blood from the burgers and grease from other things.
