**Pappa Ozz Restaurant Review** Stopped by Pappa Ozz on a Sunday around 2:00 PM for a quick bite. My wife ordered the two eggs with bacon, hashbrowns, and toast. The portion of hashbrowns was very generous, and everything was cooked exactly to her liking. I opted for the Reuben sandwich, which was cooked perfectly and loaded with sauerkraut, just the way I like it. You see this relatively new restaurant attached to a gas station/convenience store and no one would blame you if your expectations were not very high. But what a pleasant surprise Papa Ozz's is. Simply put, I haven't been to a restaurant locally that does all of its dishes as consistently well. There are restaurants that are fancier with more ambitious menus, but most of those would do well to focus on making all of the menu as well as Papa Ozz does. There's nothing surprising on the menu. Great midwestern breakfasts: pancakes, waffles, omelettes, skillet combos and basically any traditional combo of breakfast items you'd want. There's a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and dinner entrees. But a big menu here is not the point. Lots of places have overstuffed menus. The secret here is the care and quality taken with each dish. You can have a great Reuben or Alfredo pasta or catfish etc. They're all done well. And the best fries in town. And we've had excellent service each time as well. This place is just a happy surprise. read more

2 words: kids meals. My kids love this place. Meals priced right in line with fast food restaurants, but quality of a sit down. My daughter compared her chicken tender meal to the one at a large steak chain. They have spaghetti on the menu so everyone got their favs. Plus, ice cream instead of a toy is always a win for me. I would recommend calling ahead if you want to make it fast, but they do have a drive through and the wait isn't terrible. We have enjoyed Papa Ozz meals for a couple of years now after my niece introduced us to it. Most portions are very large and was very good food. The last two or three times we've eaten here, we have been increasingly disapointed with both meal and service. Well, today was the straw that broke the camels back. We were between appointments and a little before 11 am we decided to eat here because we wanted to stop at the hardware store across the street when done and I wanted breakfast and my wife wanted fish and a form of potato. We sat down and it wasn't too long (but not quick) and a waitress brought menus. I ordered coffee and wife ordered a drink. She brought it back promptly and said "I'll give you just a minute". About 10 minutes later she returned and took our order (the place was about half full and there were at least 3 waitresses we saw milling around). Then we waited and waited. I drank my coffee pretty slow and was entertained by an old lady with two captive people with her talking everything from liberal politics to plumbing and law. It was torture. Finally, after another 20 minutes or so, I was looking around to get someone's attention to get me some more coffee at least and my wife saw her delivering an order across the room and told me that these people had come in a little while after us. She got up and asked the waitress if she had forgotten to turn in our order or what and I wanted more coffee. She looked over and said our order was on the counter waiting. She soon returned with it and my coffee. We both took a bite of our food and it was about room temperature....it had obviously been sitting on that serving counter for a LONG time. We had to eat it cold or nothing because we had to hit the hardware store and get on to our other appointment. I told my wife about half way through our cold meal that this is it..... I'm never eating here again. She agreed. And, the waitress got a rather meeger tip but it was more than she deserrved. I wish the owners would have kept the old Point Restaurant.
