Heres the security guard guarding anybody trying to go in...
    Josh G.

Just got blocked from going in the store 17 minutes before they close.. which by the way is listed on the wall as 10pm but online says midnite. The employees all want to be walking out by 10pm. This store is the biggest joke of a store ive ever been too. Id never come back if it wasnt 30 seconds from my house. The employees are rude and i actually watched a cashier try to fight their own security guard about 2 weeks ago. Id not recommend this store to anybody but an enemy. 0 stars if it was an option. After writing this theres still 9minutes until they close and theyve turned away atleast ten people already...

Store hours WRONG. Why does it say that the store closes at 12 midnight and I'm here at 948pm and the security is pulling in carts and locking the door. Waste of time gas. Terrible.

    Lines wrapped around the store.

The aisles are wide. The selections are immense. And the price is right. However they never have any cashiers. For this to be a warehouse grocery store, there needs to be more than three cashiers. Who is running this business? This is why i stopped shopping at food maxx.

We deserve a grocery store with working shopping carts! I only gave y'all 2 stars because I love the checkers.

FoodMaxx isn't a force to be reckoned with. ---except for their ridiculous prices on certain products being sold at their store. It's not a bad store, but it's also not all that special (good) either. This store is to be considered in the middle. I have been going to this store for years, and nothing really changed except for their logo and store name. Although, this grocery store is extremely convenient for those who are near East Oakland and for the residents in San Leandro. If you're too lazy to waste cash on expensive artisan items at Safeway, then head down over to FoodMaxx. There's at least a little bit of everything for everyone. ... But don't expect an artisan item like Hummus being sold at FoodMaxx. It's not there. FoodMaxx tends to have a sale on their produce, chips, and soft beverage drinks like the AriZona brand. Make sure to keep an eye out for those whenever you enter the store. They also want to please the Latino community by offering various pastries, baked bread, drinks, and the like. Other than that, the lines are pretty long when it's the afternoon on a weekday. There are times where you are being passively forced to go to a different line if a certain check out aisle closes. But oh well. You gotta deal with it once that happens. Overall, it's a decent convenient grocery store. P.S: Sunnyside Farms is the "brand" being sold at FoodMaxx and nowhere else, folks.

Yuck, not worth the lower prices for the inferior experience. Sometimes a bargain is not worth it.

It's a surprise every day, which pizza they'll make, but it's guaranteed to always be good. The quality of the ingredients is top notch, the kind you can just taste. Even their salads, soups, and baked goods are delicious, it tastes like a quality bakery, for a place that's known for great pizza. This is definitely an if you know, you know spot, the kind you'll come back to for years on end for its consistency, its flavor, its heart. It's a staple of the East Bay for a reason, and even if you're not a vegetarian, you will adore it.

Great spot for a quick dinner at an affordable price!…read more My partner and I stopped by Arizmendi to check it out and get a daily special on a Sunday. In total, we paid $7.50, which was not bad at all! The space is spacious inside with an ample parking lot, but I would say this is more of a grab-and-go place; there is some outdoor seating. We got a pizza with tomato, olive oil, feta, and olives. The service was quick, straightforward, and we were able to get our slices within 5 minutes and it came out hot which was great! The pizza itself is on the thinner side and has a good ratio of dough to cheese. The crust/base was chewy and light and did in fact, taste healthy (in a good way)! Do I think this place is somewhere you must go to try out? Honestly, no, it is a good value pizza that tastes delicious, but I would say to only stop in if you are around the area.

If you're walking past Tarts de Feybesse, STOP. Seriously. Your taste buds will thank you…read more This place was seriously AMAZING! Great service kind and funny.... Everything looked almost too good to eat -- and somehow tasted even better than it looked. The pastries and desserts were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with some serious attention to detail. One of my favorite things was how the pistachio actually looked like pistachio and the mango actually looked like mango. The presentation was SO cool and creative that you almost feel bad taking the first bite... almost. Then you taste it and realize you absolutely made the right decision. Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and beautifully made, with flavors that actually came through instead of just looking pretty for Instagram. Definitely one of those places where you walk in thinking, "I'll just look," and walk out thinking, "Well... apparently I'm moving in

It's small and clean inside 5/5, and the staff was patient & informative, plus they heated up my sandwich, which I didn't ask for but it was nice 5/5. Now onto the pastries.. the coconut was so thick, light, and creamy and surprisingly backed with flavor 4.8/5, the mango was phenomenal! The fruit inside was so fresh, and well cooked, and the cream inside was a light addition 4.9/5, the pistachio (even though I was crazy excited about it) was just okay. The pistachio flavor was strong enough, but I just felt it could've been better executed when you're offering options like mango and coconut, 3/5. The apple fritter style pastries was definitely my favorite out of them all. The outside was so buttery and flakey, and the apple filling wasn't overly sweet with a slight tart hint that really put it over the top for me, absolute perfection 4.9/5. The Calamansi Jasmine tea was a delightful little addition to my eats. It was more jasmine flavored than anything, but that's also one of my favorite tea flavors so I may be biased, but either way 4.5/5. Overall, I rate this place a 4.6/5!
