My daughter loves this and it was on sale for 2.99

I still come here, the security guards are always so nice and protective. The selections are great, the produces are fresh, I hope this place stays here for a long time. I love coming here for chicken, pork, chicken and beef. I also like to get the sashimi or raw fish selection. I come here a lot for the vegetables, snacks, meats, frozen goodies and sauces. Easy parking, good prices.

My go to Korean supermarket in the east bay. There is a good amount of fresh produce at very affordable prices. A lot fresher in comparison to Chinatown and doesn't spoil as fast. The meat section always have a variety of meats on sale. Usually go for steaks as cheaper than most places. Bakery goods I would pass as it doesn't seem very tasty and plus on higher end for price for what it is worth. Hot food section is a hit or miss. There is security on-site to direct traffic and enclosed parking lot. The restrooms are extremely clean and code on the receipt to enter.

5/17/25 FYI. I bought a case.... May never even eat it. lol.

Another business that we frequent that I have not written a review for?!?! We call this place KP Market. Quality/Quantity - One of the best markets for Korean foods in the area. There are a few other (better) Asian markets, but none that are specifically Korean themed/focused. Well unless you are in Santa Clara, CA. Sadly, the two things I came here for they did NOT have; there goes my craving! But we still spent $70 on ?!?! My daughter is/was on an indo "kick" so I bought a case of indo ramen for her. Not sure if any of us will actually eat it, lol. Can always be a future donation. My wife bought some snacks that I ended up eating at Alameda Brewing, lol. She is trying to fatten me up. See picture and other review. Atmosphere - Decent size market. I especially liked the private parking lot. With plenty of security. Do keep in mind that security is still only a deterrent and there can still be car break-ins; see pictures. Be safe. Need a code for the bathrooms which are on the bottom of your receipt. See picture. Separate building for housewares, which I rarely frequent. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 9pm. Service - Self service. Price - $70, expensive... But there is minimal competition and we keep coming back. :) Not going to drive all the way to Santa Clara! Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1973. Cut and pasted from their website (which needs to be updated on Yelp): "A family business for over 50 years - KP Asian Market, formerly known as Pusan Plaza, was the first East Bay Korean Market established in 1973. In 1988, Byong Joo Yu acquired the market from his sister Patricia Lee."

The best asian market in the area! Absolutely love coming to KP for groceries! Being a Daly City native - this place reminds me of Kukje and it fulfills so many of our asian eating needs! My hubs is in charge of real food groceries and I'm always shopping for snacks! Love the kimbop and stirfry fish cakes! It's also still affordable and with good portions! We love the quality of the meat and produce! They have a separate building for their korean skincare and household items too. They have great sales and rotation of items! We definitely come to KP at least once a month for our groceries!

Ok size Convenient Korean Asian market that can satisfy your need. Parking is guided. Friendly security guys. Fresh and frozen meat, poultry and sea food. Ok vegetable and fruit sections. All kind of spices and snack and drinks. Price is ok, not the cheapest. Typical small aisle crowded Asian market. Check out is friendly.

I love going here!!! I recently came here to look for some kimchi and honestly their store is so clean inside!! I noticed that they have a little side building that sell only household stuff which is awesome!! The worker seems so nice here and the food seems super fresh! I would definitely come back here again!

Love coming there for their samples, 99 cents section, and ready made meals. Koreana always has yummy fruit samples and occasionally good prices. I recently bought two heavy bag of Barlett Pears that each cost $1.99 TOTAL not per lb. What a steal! Sometimes I get their 99 cents produce bags as well! I didn't see any this time but I'm always on the look out. Last time I got a bag full of bell peppers and a bag full of roma tomatoes. Each bag had about 5 of each vegetable in their specified bag. Each bag looked fresh without damage or mold. The ready made meals are pretty good. Sometimes I get the Japchae or Gimbap. For dessert, I got a mango cream Sando. It was decent but the bread wasn't so good. It was a bit on the dry side rather than being bouncy and soft. Overall, I still love coming here!

Since moving to Oakland, Koreana Plaza has been my family's go-to Asian Market. They're not the largest, but they have a good selection of most products (sometimes we'll get produce elsewhere). The lot can seem intimidating, but security measures actually make shopping there feel much safer. And while parking can fill up on weekends, there's a good flow of people coming in and out. I always find a spot. Staff are quick to move people through the lines, and I always find everything I need at KP. We even get large orders of their fried chicken for our holiday parties - so good. Their kalbi was pretty expensive, but I splurged for a special occasion. I most often shop for fresh and frozen kimbap, soju, instant noodles and meat at KP. The shop next door (across in the same lot) also has a good variety of Korean skin care products and household items. Definitely worth a visit.

Reduced salmon fillet with receipt with wrong price.

I've never been one to check my receipts but happened to check it before I tossed it. I purchased a discounted salmon fillet and noticed that the cashier rang up the original price that had been crossed out. I frequent KP market a lot and will now keep an eye on the register/check my receipt. Posting to warn others to keep an eye out for this! Bummed as I could have purchased a better filet for the price they charged me.

Ask the Community - KP Asian Market

Do they carry Onggi fermention pots with lids? I make my own kimchi !

Do they sell hot roasted sweet potatoes?

My Mother said the do. Very small and pricey.

    Do they sell porkbelly?

    Yes!

Do they sell raw chicken hearts and chicken liver?

Not sure about liver, you probably have to go to Safeway. But they do sell chicken heart

    Do they deliver?

I don’t believe they do. Yet I would do it for you under the table. Of course at a cost..

Do they have Filipino foods like ube jam?

    No they don't

Do they sell garden stuff like korean seeds and tools?

At the house ware store in the same plaza they have seeds, I'm not sure about garden tools.

    Do they accept ebt?

    Yes!

Do they sell hand-made or fresh egg noodles for soups and to stir-fry? Do they sell by pound?

    Do they sell frozen oysters?

I believe so! I remember they have frozen mussels, scallops, squid, octopus, variety of fish. I'm pretty sure they have frozen oysters!

Do they sell chicken for shabu shabu?

Yes, I have gotten it there before. :)

    Do they accept EBT?

    Yes they do.

Do they sell the Korean green plums to make the extract from scratch?

Hi. Does the market sell dry split mung beans?

I believe they do! They have a lot of dried goods so half mung beans most likely will be there

Usually, how long is the line to get in during the morning?

Not much of a line before 10am

Do they carry frozen rice flour? Thanks!

They have dried rice flour, but no frozen ones that I can find. Don't think I've seen any frozen grains, except natto.

Does anyone know if they sell purple yam rice cakes with cheese?

Sometimes I see it where the rice cakes / mochi / fresh tteoboki are by the front register. But it seems like their rice cakes /mochi sells out fast.

In produce section do they have gno gai (culantro in spanish)?

They have had ngò gai / long cilantro / 刺芹 / 野香草, but more common to have "regular" cilantro (rau mùi/ngò rí).

    Do you carry black rice?

Yes, generally they have black rice

(Under COVID-19 shelter in place) Do they limit the number of customers inside, if so how long is the average waiting time to get in?

There is a line to get in at times, so they do limit customers. On a Friday at noon it took me about fifteen minutes to enter the store.

Lucky Seafood is a very small seafood market offering a variety of exotic live seafood, including live crabs. They have two tanks for the Dungeness crab, one with a larger crabs and one with smaller crabs. There is very limited street parking so try to get there early. And they only take cash. That was my first red flag, but I still supported this business. I came here to purchase live crab for the holiday season, about $300 worth, then I came back to purchase the same amount a week later for New Year's eve, just to receive the worst service I've ever experienced considering how much money I was spending. The guy got upset when I wanted to look at the crab he was trying to quickly throw in the bag without me seeing it, so he got mad and just dropped the bag on the floor and said "here you look at it!" and he walked away leaving me there with a bag of live crab to search through. I spent a lot of money at this store for the treatment that I've received and after this experience I decided it was the last time. I now go to green fish in Chinatown where they also have live seafood offerings and the customer service is much better. Lucky Seafood also smells really bad inside and green fish does not. This may be due to freshness or lack thereof. 7

The woman at the register was very kind and gave me a heads up that they are open tomorrow as well, but they may run out of blue crabs by then. Also, right now they have a bunch of Dungeness crab. Depending on the size they vary from $10.99-$12.99/lb. There is also a small selection of produce for anything you're looking to pair with fresh seafood. Btw! The floor is VERY slippery. Please be careful.
