My wife had been wanting to go here forever so last year for Christmas I got her a gift certificate. Life got in the way and we finally found a class that worked for our schedule and was interesting to us. We did Hawaiian night - Hawaiian pizza, some saucy chicken over rice, and pineapple upside down cake with coconut whipped cream. All of it was really tasty. We're both more on the advanced side of culinary skills, so while it was a nice to try recipes we wouldn't typically make, we didn't learn a ton of new techniques so it wasn't a class in that sense. We talked to the owner and she said that they definitely do more advanced classes so maybe next time we'll reach out for one of those. She also said that we can always check with her about finding a non-kids class to bring our teenage daughter to who loves to help in the kitchen. read more

What an amazing experience. From the moment we walked in, Chef Christina Hart and her staff made us feel right at home. We made an amazing homemade gnocchi. She walked us through step by step to make this delicious meal. She offers tons of different cooking and baking classes with guest chefs when she's not teaching. The great thing is, you don't need any skills to be able to do this. And on the plus side, they offer byob. I highly recommend trying this awesome place out. We had a fantastic time at Foodology! We finally redeemed a gift certificate we had had for a while and made a delicious phyllo wrapped salmon, whipped feta crostini and lemon curd ice cream. They have so many courses to choose from online but you need to sign up quick! Our instructors and helpers were fantastic and very knowledgeable. We got the recipes to everything after our class. I personally wish we could have done more of the prepping and cooking but there's also only so much time for the class so a lot was prepped for us prior to the class. I was able to create the picture taken completely on my own. The instructor was available for advice, guidance, and expertise. Pricing is reasonable. The environment is friendly and fun. Chef Christina is a true angel and hosted a group of 9 of us for a "rehearsal dinner" for my sisters wedding and it was the most fun, memorable event that has ever been associated with a wedding. We have not stopped gushing about it. Christina's attention to detail to each piece of our meal will not be forgotten. We did the Mediterranean meal and each course was so fun to put together while also having the flavors of a five star restaurant. If you're looking for a fun stress free night out, foodology is a great place. The owner is friendly and accommodating. The space is large and clean. I've been a few times and most recently did breakfast for dinner. Everything was amazing, from the corned beef hash, to omelets and stuffed French toast. My husband and I came here for a special date night since we both are fascinated with cooking. Our themed meal was Italian food: dinner rolls, Cesar salad, chicken cacciatore, and limoncello dessert circles thingies. It's BYOB and there were 3 other couples in the room. The chef demo-ed a really yummy white bean soup too. The instruction was really easy and casual. Each couple had their own station set of tools as well as more items on the side if you needed big knives or mini bowls, extra spatulas, more measuring cups etc. The chef has an assistance that takes away all of your dirty dishes or appliances that your done with, such as the kitchenaid mixer. It really was just a fun and different way to spend time together and learn a few new things. The food and the meal that we created was delicious too. read more

I recently returned to Foodology cooking school. The last time I was here was before the pandemic where I learned how to make apple pies. I love that Foodology offers a variety of classes and workshops for adults, teens, and tweens. They even can host birthday parties or group events. Each of their classes are themed which adds an element of fun. An example of some of their fun themed classes they have offered include the 70's Freaky Deaky Dinner, Nashville Night, and Gatsby Dinner Party. Additionally, If you ever wanted to be on a food challenge show, but didn't make the cut,check out their schedule of food challenge classes and events. During my recent visit we were making breakfast for dinner. On the menu was Maple Cream Cheese and Bacon Stuffed French Toast, Oven Roasted Home Fries, Western Style Omelet topped with a home style guacamole, Corned beef hash, and Sausage Links. The class was hands-on and everything required to make the dish from start to finish was provided and pre portioned out. Chef Sarah, head chef and owner of Sarah's on Main in Portland, CT guided us step-by-step in the preparation of each dish-from chopping, to mixing, to cooking, and plating. As we prepared and cooked our foods, Christine, the owner of Foodology, circulated to all of the stations and chatted with all the guests and assisted Chef Sara as needed. This was a great experience. I enjoyed learning and making new recipes. We made so much food; we are able to take leftovers home. To go containers were provided. My favorite items we made were the Maple Cream Cheese and Bacon Stuffed French Toast and the Corned Beef Hash. Both dishes tasted incredible and I definitely will be making them at home. A copy of the recipe for each dish was provided so you can replicate them at home. The class was BYOB so my friend and I brought OJ and Champagne to make mimosas to compliment our feast. I highly recommend signing up to take a class or one of the challenges. It is such a fun experience. I am already checking out the schedule to see what my next class will be. read more

Paid $180 for 2 and we didn't cook anything. We smeared some pre-mixed butter on to some 2 small chicken thighs, we mixed a few ingredients for bread that were all pre-measured and cut it into four pieces, and that was the full extent of the Hands-On "cooking". The dessert we were supposed to cook was fritters with homemade ice cream and they said the machine broke so they pre-made the fritters. They served homemade ice cream that was horrible and they only gave about a 2 tablespoons. The class was supposed to start at 5:00 p.m. and go to 7:30 p.m. it did not start till about 5:20 and there was no explanation for why we were waiting. I expected a lot more and was disappointed. read more

If I could subtract stars I would! I love macarons! I got a gift of a macaron class for my anniversary. I was so excited. I drove 1hr 20 mins one way to attend the class. I got there early, when I got there I was told that the class was sold out, and everyone but 2 people were coming in pairs. I was a single. I took my seat, as people arrived and class began to fill I was asked to give up my seat for the winners of the chopped competition, and asked to join another group becoming a party of 3. I was not happy and voiced I paid full price, I deserved full supplies. The owners friend moved to another group, I was left with a teenager. The owner/teacher never once used any terms known in macaron making. Batter thickness = macaronage! Our batter was not thinning so the instructors answer was to add water...you NEVER add water to make mavarons. I asked which method we were making..the instructor looked at me like I had 3 heads...I explained Swiss, Italian or French. The instructor says "let's say French" she had no idea! All the batter made in class was different in texture. Not a one table had passably results. All were over cooked and browning. I asked about fresh or carton eggs, the recipe states 2 eggs, instructor says carton eggs, but no amount. Macaron making ingredients should be weighed not eyeballed! I knew more about macarons then the instructor. Sad day for macarons! I want a refund...it was a waste of time, gas, money, and lack of knowledge. You are scamming people for classes you are not qualified to teach. Real cooks/baker beware!! read more

This place is amazing! I take my nieces and nephews here for their toddler classes. Chef Christina is amazing with kids, and she always has activities lined up while our food bakes/rests. We have participated in the Halloween class and the Christmas cookie class. Both were amazing; the kids have a good time making something on their own, and they're so proud of themselves after. The little details are what really shine (e.i. on-theme playlists and creative names for ingredients). Foodology is a great local, family-owned business! In times like these, we know local businesses need some support, and we are so happy we found Foodology. They adhere to state guidelines and keep their classes very clean; they encourage hand washing and have hand sanitizer stations throughout the kitchen. We will definitely be coming back next month for their "monkey bread" class. read more

I had my daughter's 13th birthday party here and the kids loved it! It was original, fun, just challenging enough, and they ran it very smoothly. The girls got to bring home their extra cupcakes so cake and favors were checked off my list too! The party we did was a Nailed It competition, with 3 teams competing, but they do all sorts of other themed parties and challenges and will cater it to the age of the participants. I would recommend Foodology for birthday parties! And I would love to check out their more grown up parties and classes as well. read more

This place is incredible. I had never heard of it until my sister and friends took me there for a cooking class for my surprise bachelorette since I love to cook. It was the absolute best experience! We had the whole place to ourselves and my friends were able to decorate the tables and bring in our own alcoholic beverages. My friends were able to request the menu to fit the theme- New Orleans inspired! Christina was amazing, and the food was delicious!!!! We had a four course meal and a few of us got to volunteer to help with each course. Everything was simple and delicious. It was so, so good. We each got to take home the recipe for each course and even purchased some of their baked goods to enjoy at home. It was a unique and fun experience, and I highly recommend it! read more

This is seriously one of the best bakeries in Connecticut and I drive all the way from Manchester for it. The desserts are artfully decorated and in sizable portions for sharing, and the flavors are fantastic and memorable. I've ordered cookie baskets over the years as gifts and goodie-bag treats for parties I've hosted -- but for more special occasions I prefer the sweets in the refrigerated case (try the macaroons!!).
