I fractured my fifth Metatarsal and had expert advice from my family friend back in Switzerland tell me that fortunately I wouldn't need surgery, which will make my healing easier than getting a surgery and adding metals around your bones and cutting through the skin, which is a worse process plus long-term it's always better to remove the metal scraps to not get infections and I also had another experts telling me that I did not need surgery, but I wanted somebody to follow me and my progress so I still went to Dr. Gandomani who insisted I needed surgery as soon as I told him that I was looking for an alternative because I heard I didn't really need it. He insisted that I was very bruised. Still tried to tell me I had pain in my foot when I didn't and that if I didn't do it, I was gonna have a non-union or a union. I asked him for my alternatives which he reluctantly said to let it heal by itself and get you a bone stimulator and I wanted to go that route first as we park he says he's gonna put it in for my insurance and I asked for a note, I have to ask for the note to be corrected four times by the assistant who couldn't care less about my demands and was trying to fight me into. It's good enough or just come back in two weeks to get it renewed when I can't work for three months so quite ridiculous then the following week and a half. I had to call multiple times they kept rejecting me, not sending me my x-rays and not putting in the order for the bone simulator through my insurance. Only when my boyfriend picked up the phone they finally listened. I don't know if that's misogyny or what it is but I highly recommend to finding any other doctor that you can. read more

Absolute worst podiatrist in LA. All about the money wants to push surgery my girlfriend has a fractured foot and she spoke to three specialist who encouraged her to just put it in a boot and this particular doctor wanted to push surgery gaslight and try to gaslight her into thinking if she doesn't get it, she'll have issues going forward. Also didn't follow up and put in any orders for the bone stimulator we had to call back countless times just to get x-rays. Terrible service would not recommend this doctor read more

For the record, the 1 star is for the basic level of customer service it seemed at least the receptionist had. Reasons to stay away: 1. Scheduled my appointment. Was weird, they said they would call me back to confirm my appointment. Not sure why ya couldn't just confirm it while I was on the phone with you. 2. Having to email things to them was annoying. Even after doing that, spelling my name and address and everything else, it was still wrong in their system so I couldn't check-in. They had my name wrong, address wrong... 3. While waiting for the half hour, another person came in and said they came to pick up their orthotics for the 5th time and it still wasn't ready -- this was because the office CALLED him to say it was there but still blamed it on UPS. Dunno why they wouldn't wait to verify they had it in office before making that man drive his 30 miles to the office for nothing... multiple times, mind you. 4. Didn't even need to worry about rescheduling my appointment, just canceled it on the spot, asked for parking validation, and am gonna go elsewhere. Honestly probably should have known, once they called me a couple days ago to verify my coverage and still couldn't verify my name... for the second time. Can't even speak to care quality. This is the second podiatrist I've seen. I suspected I had a bunion and just wanted to confirm but they took X-rays so that I could be billed. As far as I know the doctor never looked at them and if he did, never shared the results from me. Dardashiti spent 15 mins with me tops. He looked at orthotics that another podiatrist made for me and just put strips on the underside to adjust them. He told me he could make a new set once I knew how the adjusted ones worked. I've been waiting for a month and a half for a response from my them (they said they are waiting an response from insuarence), and I was beginning to suspect that the request was taking too long, because in that time I've been able to see another doctor, he submitted the request, the insurance approved it, and I received the service. I wrote to them once 2-3 weeks after my first appointment. They grudgingly (24-48 hours after my request, even though I wrote it during business hours) replied to me that "something was messed up" and that they would "get back to me with new information". I waited another 3 weeks and there was no response from them. No new information. In the end, they finally sent me the decision (after i write again) and it turns out I was denied. They had the form for 2 weeks and didn't even bother to email me a copy of it, even though they promised to come back with the information. I looked at the form and saw that the doctor gave incorrect information (that my disease is congenital, not acquired), did not include important information for the insurance company (that I have pain when walking, exercising, standing for long periods of time), that conventional methods do not help me and my insurance company refused because of this (insufficient evidence). Just a waste of time. Everything is done on the back burner. The rejection form even included a contact to contact, but if these people are so lazy as to notify you of a response (which took 3 days, and I waited 40 days for it), is there anyone they can contact? They don't care about helping anyone. Totally disrespectful. They are also very fond of gaslighting. When I wrote them about it in messages, they didn't reply, not even apologizing for the inconvenience and mistakes. I left a google review - and they decided to gaslight me, blaming my insurance company, even though they had previously admitted to "making a mistake" and not sending a request (1), promised to come back with information and didn't (2) and made false information (3). I showed up to my appointment on time, but the doctor made me wait 45min until he showed up. He then had me do xrays on a dirty machine and said there's nothing he can do for my feet even though they're in constant pain. He did try to sell me on his custom insoles. Felt like they are scamming trying to upsell expensive insoles instead of taking the time to diagnose and make sure patients feet are okay. Didn't even show me x-ray and point out anything. Entire thing was a waste of time and money. Appointment took 1.5hrs even, I showed up on time, and saw doctor for maybe 2min. Save your money and find a doctors office who actually want to solve problems instead of just make money. Also they forced me to sign a doc consenting to them using my photos for their social media even though I told them I'm not comfortable with this. They said they wouldn't see me unless I signed and assured me they wouldn't use it for social media... but then why force me to sign???? Dr. Tamashiro and his assistant Sandy are very Professional, carrying and proficient with the work they do in carrying for you. From the moment you walk through the door you are treated like family. Sandy not only cleans and prepares your room for your visit, she does an excellent job in assisting and listening to orders given by Dr. Tamashiro about wond cleaning and care. Sandy should also be recognized for her abilities in foot and leg wrappings and unia-boots. Sandy is also very observant and carrying to her patients. I was recently discharged from the Hospital and she noticed that I was released with the wrong size walking boot and went above and beyond to insure I left the office that same day with the proper sized walking boot, to avoid further damage and injury to my foot. And for me that is first class service in insuring her patients are taken care of because by me being Diabetic I could easily lose my toes, foot or even leg do to an infection. So in closing I highly recommend anyone dealing with foot and ankle issues or even with toe nails give this team a call and they will put in the work to get you back right. read more

GARBAGE. I waited 1.5 months to be seen and took time out of work to go see them on Thursday. The doctor was 45 min late to the appointment, spoke to me for 3 minutes, then rushed me out of there. I was told I would get a prescription for my chronic pain, and when I asked about it I was told the doctor would fill the prescription at the end of the day. Friday (today) rolls around and wouldn't you know it - no prescription. I called them back and they said they would follow up with the doctor and call me back, and big shock - no one called me back. It's now Friday evening, everything is shut, I'm in so much pain I can barely stand, and I'm being told to call and follow up on Monday. And spoiler alert, no prescription! If anyone tries to send you here, they probably hate you. Stay far away from this dumpster fire of a place. I think one of the worst experiences of office visits. I did my foot surgery last year, I still have pain on my ankles and toes with pinching sensation. I had a bad inflammatory response after foot surgery so they had to send the biopsy which was horrible. Top of the that, I got a bill from their lab. They never asked me for any consent form nor explanation that they would send that my insurance doesn't cover. Luckily, the insurance company took care of it due to emergent situation and lack of patient care service from Dr's office. However, the lab kept sending me the statement. So, we both side( I and insurance) had to call them to comfirm with them. Secondly, they asked me to pay for dr's note at first time for my work. I was speechless. And every time I go, the first thing people from front ask me was co- pay $$ even before sitting down waiting. It looks like they see patients as $$ signs. I was in a motorcycle accident. What you see in the picture started as a 3rd-degree burn on my ankle the size of a 'Silver Dollar.' I went to the Hospital ER 3 times before anyone took my injury seriously. It was not until a nurse saw my Wound that the doctors even bothered to do anything. My nurse called my doctors stated they need to take my Wound seriously! If the doctors do not take my injury seriously, I would indeed have my leg amputated. Foot & Ankle are a subsidiary of Cedars Sinai hospital, but the service and insolence of both institutions are not fit for animals. These are absolutely the worse doctors who have ever worked on me. No one paid attention even when my "rotting flesh" smelled like someone died. Instead, I had a nurse who wanted me to have a live-in nurse assistant as my Wound became worse. The only thing the doctors did was have me take more and more tests from X-ray, MRI, imaging, etc. Yes, there is more money made when you are subjected to more and more medical tests. Even when I was in the Cedars Sinai hospital and operated on by the 'Foot & Ankle' doctor, Cedar Sinai was calling me asking me to take more medical tests meant for pre-op after coming out of post-surgery. Making me thoroughly disgusted! The nurse at the Foot & Ankle was also very rude. Rather than respect those who are injured, we are called, "Smith, over here. Jones go there" more like giving military orders than being treated as patients with compassion. The doctors are equally disgusting when they say they will give instructions to nurses -but completely ignore you and the nurse coming to your home to treat you. The doctor will tell me "Hey you, tell Cedars to fax me the results, never following up on instructions to the nurse coming to the house." As a military veteran, I have had worse injuries but never have I been treated as bad as than at the Foot & Ankle doctors. Even veterinarians treat dogs and cats with more respect. I called my high profile attorney with the intent to sue a group of doctors at Cedars Sinai including the Foot & Ankle doctors(part of Cedars Sinai). My attorney said unless the doctors amputate my leg due to this Wound that I would get $6-8 million dollars due to negligence and malpractice. At present time, it is 7 months and I am still not healed due to severe negligence and malpractice of not taking my injury seriously from the beginning. If you can avoid going to the Food & Ankle doctors or any doctors at Cedars Sinai group -avoid them like the plague! I had to tolerate the verbal abuse, medical neglect, and disrespect from the Foot & Ankle and Cedars Sinai personnel in the office and the hospital. Whatever good reputation Cedars Sinai(including Foot & Ankle) is a memory of the past at a time when doctors, nurses, and medical personnel cared for patients. I am not healed yet and my attorney is still watching closely as he is disgusted with the way I was treated by Foot & Ankle and Cedars Sinai. By far the worst experience I've ever had in a doctor's office. Try every other podiatrist before you come here. The most rude and unprofessional staff from the front to the back of the building. I've waited a total of 4 hours on hold waiting for someone to pick up the phone. Their treatment will consist of pedaling their in-house pain cream. 1) After being referred to imaging for an MRI, it took the doctor two weeks to review the images. After reviewing them, I had to call back to get word on what the diagnoses was. 2) After being told the diagnoses, I requested paperwork and recommended treatment plan. Deshown stated he would send the requested paperwork by end of day. Nothing. I called and requested the paperwork again two days later giving them the benefit of the doubt of being busy. Nothing. I called and Deshown picked up again, apologized and said he would send it immediately. Nothing for the whole day. Called again the following morning and didn't get off the phone until Deshown had sent the requested paperwork. 3) Upon receiving the PDF - the information said my left foot/ankle was lacerated. It was my right foot.. Doctor recommended PT but it was not included in the diagnoses/treatment plan. I requested them to send an updated version with the correct foot labeled. MY RIGHT FOOT. Deshown apologized and said he would remedy this. 4) A WEEK GOES BY - NO UPDATE. I call again - apparently Deshown updated the document but never sent it. It finally gets sent to me. Still no inclusion of the referral to PT. 5) I have called 5 times today waiting between 30-45min on hold. No response. No update on the referral to PT. Someone please shut this place down. I highly recommend the Foot & Ankle Doctors practice. I had a great experience from my first contact. Rosa was very helpful in scheduling my appointment, obtaining insurance information and completing the proper paperwork. Medical assistant Jimmy prepped me, was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable right away. Staff is excellent. Doctor Aasin Tareen is extremely knowledgeable with the ability to explain things in lay terms. He looked at the x-rays and explained what was happening and made sure I understood. We developed a plan to combat the arthritis in my ankle. I had seen two other foot specialists who took x-rays of my foot and ankle and neither of them told me that I was suffering from severe arthritis; which Doctor Tareen stated it had been there for years. I was so frustrated not knowing why I was always injured. Now I know and we can make a plan for my recovery. If the other doctors had notified me of this, I could have started rehabilitation years earlier. Who knows how much more damage I caused by physicians who give you a pill and send you out the door? Dr. Gandomani, D.P.M. treated my father for gangrene. After months of getting the run around through Cedars-Sinai, we happened upon the Foot & Ankle Doctors, Inc. We were referred to a Cedars podiatrist. I called to get the appointment expedited due to my concerns over necrosis. They wouldn't bump the appointment up, and even went as far as to tell me that we would have just been referred to a different podiatrist. They referred us to the Foot & Ankle Doctors (They work closely with Cedars, but aren't affiliated). I called and was able to get an appointment the same day! We went up to the office. They asked us to remain at the door so the nurse, Shawn, may conduct the current standard pandemic procedures (mask change, temp check, symptom check, the whole works). Shawn has assisted us every time we go. He is very personable, and a self-proclaimed "foodie." He's lots of fun. Now let me tell you about the MVP, Dr. Gandomani. I expressed my frustrations with the quality of care my father has been getting. We had told MANY doctors that my father was in excruciating pain, and no one would listen. I also expressed my frustrations with the fact that other doctors aren't taking the necrosis on my fathers toes seriously; He was discharged from the ER the prior day. Dr. Gandomani was empathetic with the situation and equally perplexed as to why my fathers treatment (up until that point) wasn't reflective of the severity of the situation. He immediately advised me to take my father to the the ER, and wrote a recommendation for us so that my father would be properly treated. Dr. Gandomani has fabulous bedside manner. He answers all your questions to the fullest extent; You never feel rushed even when you bombard him with 100+ questions. He did a fantastic job on my fathers foot. We are still in the healing phase, however our experience with Dr. Gandomani, and his staff, has remained exceptional. I am very pleased with the Foot & Ankle Doctors, Inc. I decided to write this review because I feel Dr. Gandomani, and his staff, need to be recognized for their empathy, urgency, and quality as it relates to the my fathers health care needs. P.S. I went to see the Dr twice before I decided to stop coming back, I came in to see why I was experiencing foot pain and in both visits the doctor did not even touch/look at my actual foot once. Both visits I waited 30+ minutes to see the doctor for less than 5 minutes of actual visit. The short visits would not be an issue if my problem was actually solved, but I ended up leaving this office feeling dismissed and with my foot pain remaining. I would recommend to visit another office where they're more diligent and try to actually figure out what is causing your pain, not just collecting your insurance money. read more

I was told the office was closed but I could hear people laughing, Joking and talking about what they did over the weekend. Before going in to see the actual doctor they asked me to sign a consent form in order for them to take photos of my feet. I told them NO. I WILL NOT! the only reason I was there at the first place to just get a referral from them and nothing more. I was forced to sign a consent form or I was told by the office manager I can't see the doctor. Remained you again, I was there to just get a referral from them which it could have been done over the phone. But, I had to go there physically and pay them in order to get that referral. After getting forced to have photos taken of my feet I left. I was told I should get my referral contact with in few days. Well today is 6/17/2024 I just called them and they said they haven't finished with the report yet. What report? I was there to get a referral from them. That's all! I have so much pain that I don't know what to do. I DON'T RECOMMAND ANYONE TO GO TO THIS PLACE. THERE ARE A SCAM ARTIST!! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME GO FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF... I must share with you my experience with the ENCINO office staff, at the FOOT AND ANKLE CENTER with Dr. Tamashiro located at, 16311VENTURA BLVD SUITE #650, ENCINO, CA. My name is Shaun LaTray and this is my review. I was involved in a rather difficult situation as I lacerated and broke my right (big) toe in a freak accident. Upon being initially evaluated, and treated at the ER in Tarzana, I needed follow-up care. The kind nurses, and Dr. in the ER, who treated me, suggested I should highly consider the FOOT AND ANKLE DOCTORS with Dr. Tamashiro. The following day, I called the ENCINO office and spoke with Sarah (a very wonderful, and caring person) who scheduled me that same day!!! When I walked in the door of their office, I was greeted as a family member!!! Both Sarah, and Sandy put me at complete ease. Sandy, without missing a beat, placed me IMMEDIATLEY in the X-ray room. I was then able to meet with Dr. Tamashiro. After his very professional examination, Dr Tam scheduled me for immediate surgery the following week. Since that time, I have been seeing this wonderful Dr. and his staff, weekly for the past 6 weeks. Since then, I have healed from my injuries and things are almost back to normal. My wife and I have been patients at the Encino location since it opened (as it replaced our prior Podiatrist). It's many times difficult to get familiar with the new personnel whether it be the doctor or the staff. Fortunately, Sarah was still there taking care of the administrative duties and as usual was doing a fantastic job. The seemed to hold the office together while the new doctors began to see patients. Sandy, the assistant in the office is such a sweet person and she along with Sarah are perfect in welcoming patients and getting them situated for the doctor. Dr. Tomashiro is the perfect doctor. He is very kind and gentle in how he treats us and very knowledgeable. I had worn prescription orthotics for most of my life, but after a change in insurance around 15 years ago sent me to a new podiatrist who told me I didn't need them I've spent the last 15 years in pain. Over the last 2 it became unbearable and I found Dr T. He recognized right away my need and I am once again walking on happy feet. This team is amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Pirak is very professional, kind and willing to go the extra mile. If you have any issues with your feet and/or legs, he's your guy.

Do not go see this doctor and if you do, I highly recommend you don't let Dr Pirak give you a cortisone shot. Dr Pirak is so very proud of his own skills, but I wish I had not believed his overly confident talk. He administered a cortisone shot in my foot 6 months ago and my foot has been getting worse ever since because of how he did it. I now have a collapsed vein running up my shin and sunken dry purple tinged skin all around the injection sites. After the shot at first my foot was just aggressively cold, on top of the pain that was still there from the initial condition. After a week of discomfort I went back to him and he said that perhaps there was an issue with how he did the shot. He admitted that he'd heard that issue from another couple patients before and it wasn't an expected normal side effect, but hopefully coldness would go away soon. Made it sound like no big deal. It was 2 months before I was able to stop needing to have a heat pad on my foot all the time (aggressively painfully cold.) Now it's just super cold at night. I hadn't connected the awful look of my foot and the jagged sunken vein that developed in the months after to this shot though. I thought it was just the neuroma getting worse. However today I went to a new doctor who quickly pointed out exactly what it was, could still see where the injection sites were, and then called in for a second opinion. They said it was from the cortisone going into a vein, and though they'd seen bad reactions to cortisone from sensitive patients, this was purely about very poor placement. Dr. Nejad and his staff are excellent. I have seen many doctors in this field and he is the best. I received a thorough examination and he took the time to listen to my questions. I was also very impressed with the assistants and front desk staff. Ms. Rosa was a standout but they all exude professionalism and kindness. I highly recommend Dr. Nejad. As an athlete, my feet and ankles need the best care and I found it at this office. As an added bonus, the office is spacious, clean and beautifully designed and parking is validated. read more

The office staff here was friendly and courteous. From the moment I was greeted and escorted to an exam room, I felt at ease. The doctor was calm, upbeat, patient and made me feel confident he could solve my problem (after three other doctors failed to). Sure enough, he was able to resolve my problem then stuck around long enough to explain how I could best help heal the wound. read more

I came in after a terrible experience with an orthopedist who had an overbooked practice and zero bedside manner. I came to Dr. Pirak's office and what a difference! Sarah at the front desk is friendly, personable, and puts you at ease. Dr. Pirak is knowledgeable, actually listens to your concerns, and answers all questions. I leave feeling like I've actually gotten treatment. Today I graduated - no need to come back unless I need to. Would recommend this office to anyone. read more

When Foot & Ankle Doctors took over from my previous podiatrist, the delightful Dr. Richard Silverman, I wondered if I'd receive the same level of good care. Not to worry! Dr. Jonathan Pirak is not only an expert diagnostician, he's a great listener and terrifically friendly. His assistant, the wonderful Sara (who stayed over from the Silverman era) and her co-worker Sandy are so welcoming, I always look forward to seeing them. I've been looking for a foot doctor for a while to see about my Ingrown toenail and lucky I found one. The people there are very nice and helpful but they did take like 5 or 10 minutes to enter the room but overall I would totally recommend this place for everyone else. read more

Services offered review: I inquired about getting replacement pair of orthotic insoles. I have a pair from a different provider with same manufactorer, Prolab, which already has my molds. I thought this would save me the cost and effort or starting over, but I was told rate was $590 the same as if I didn't have molds. I told Vicky this was much higher than other places and wouldn't be making an appointment. She didn't seem to care one way or another. read more
