Fantastic experience. I foolishly left my running shoes at home and so my only footwear this trip was a pair of slip-ons. Not the sort of thing you want to be tromping around Pisgah wearing. So we stopped here on our way out to the national park. There were no hard sells, no baits and switches, just great customer service and knowledgeability. Kaleb asked if I was looking for anything specific. I explained to him the situation and he asked what shoes I wore at home and what I was looking to do while I was in NC (which are the perfect questions, in my opinion). I told him and he not only was aware of the brand but also the important factors of that particular "model". (I am severely "duck footed" and need a shoe so wide that it might as well be a clown shoe). He brought out a few shoes that also met those criteria. I was impressed by the options he brought out because clearly a lot of thought went into the selection. One was the brand/model I wear at home (but the only color they had in stock in my size was pure white). Another was an option that was more hiking-focused (since I had mentioned we would be walking through Pisgah). And another was similar to the brand/model I wore at home but a more neutral color (since an all-white shoe worn while hiking will quickly become not-white). I wound up going with the brand/model I wear at home (Altra Escalante) in white because the aesthetics aren't particularly important to me, and, I wanted something more all-purpose. But the fact that he had really considered what I would be using the shoes for and presented several great options was really impressive. And all in all, the entire experience from entering the store to checkout took less than 15 minutes. No long waits, no hard sells. And no markup either - same price as Amazon. This review is for the Pisgah Forest, NC location. I had the best experience yesterday!! I met with their foot specialist, Kaleb Wright, and he did an amazing job. I have Type 2 diabetes and the peripheral neuropathy that is associated with it. Walking lately has been painful. Specifically, in the balls of my feet. My doctor had told me to visit them, so I did. Wow!! I am so very happy that I made this decision. Kaleb spent 90 minutes with me explaining what I was experiencing, watching me walk several times, and then trying on multiple shoes until we found the best ones. He taught me so much about my feet that I never knew, and how to take care of them. I now feel like I'm walking on air, and there's no more pain. After I booked a 1-hour consultation with Caleb, we tried several pairs, but he wanted me to be totally satisfied, so he brought back several more from the Asheville store and a day later helped me find the perfect pair. Visited the Brevard store on my doctors reccommendation. Staff was very helpful and listened to what my needs were. However, I was disappointed that NONE of the products in store, either shoes or socks or anything else, had prices on them. AND there was no scanners available to determine the prices for yourself. You could ask the employee but they made it seem to be such an inconvience I was unwilling to ask a second time. Eventually I did buy a pair of shoes and was shocked the price was almost 50% more than the first pair I tried on and the one that I had the price check for. But the biggest shock was when I got home and read the receipt to find their NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS in small print on the receipt. They should have a sign in the store with this. They got me this time, but I will never go back - no prices and no refunds! read more

My Physical therapist sent me to see Scott because of some foot/ knee issues. I was at the Brevard location.I can't even begin to tell you how great this experience was. Let me try... Friendly, attentive, greeted me like a family member, thorough, great listener, examined my feet, examined my walk, looked at my footprints, explained everything to me and not only did it make sense, within the first 10 minutes after placing pads in my shoes, the toe tingling stopped. After 30 minutes my hip pain stopped and my knee pain is almost gone. No exaggeration. I'm speechless and almost in disbelief except for the fact that I'm almost pain free. They didn't have my shoes in their store but gave me many options to get them, so I'm going to the Asheville store today to pick them up and I cannot wait to put them on. Feet....everybody has them and they are all the same....Right? Not so fast! Feet can be wide, narrow or average. They can be in great health or not. Either way, treat your feet right! Last year, my podiatrist recommended several brands of shoes that would be good choices for me and I bought a pair of Hoka's which i've worn daily . They are getting worn out so I went in search of another pair. I was also looking for good customer service and after reading the reviews, I decided to check out Foot RX. Artimus asked questions about my feet, took measurements and brought out several brands and styles for me to try on. He explained how different brands have different levels of heel to toe drop (which affects your walking) which have a wider tox box etc. He was patient and gave me plenty of time to try out several pairs. I chose the TOPO brand because its shaped very much like the human foot. It fit me well and I'm very satisfied. They know feet and the shoes that fit them best. read more

I have had trouble with my right foot my whole life. Doctors always trying to figure something out structurally to help. But never a real solution. I recently had an injury and my doctor suggested Foot RX. They worked on balance and how your feet actually move and distribute weight. Just after a month, I can tell a difference. I highly recommend Joe Quinlan. He is very knowledgeable and practical. Explains everything in detail but in a simple way. The shoes are not cheap there but, you get what you pay for. TL;DR + Great service and personal attention. + Orthotics made for fraction of price of doctor's offices + Good location (This is a review for Scott, the pedorthist). I have had supination for quite a while, but I always dealt with it because walking on it hasn't been too problematic. However, spending extended time hiking in North Carolina, I noticed just how bad it can get. I was having longer recovery days and aches after long hikes so I decided to finally do something about it - although I did not want to wait three weeks for custom orthotics and spend upwards of $300-500 on the way. Got keyed onto Scott and there was a quite a wait to get to see him. I got lucky and managed to see him on the day I was leaving town after a long work trip. After working with him I can see why there was such a wait. Sitting down with Scott, I immediately noticed he's a master of his craft. His brimming knowledge of orthopedics and mechanics eclipsed mine by far - and I have extensive experience in orthopedics, surgery, and therapy. His assessments were on point and his solutions to remedy were similarly targeted. He crafted a pair of insoles for me on the spot and had me try them out. I felt a difference right away, but again, was unsure of the long-term resolution. Scott agreed and said that there would be an adjustment period and asked me to set up a follow-up with him the next week (I happened to be coming back for another reason) to make sure things were going smoothly. If things were going well I could cancel the appointment but I kept it for follow up. He offered to set up the follow up outside of normal hours to accommodate my schedule - awesome service. It has been a little over three weeks now, and I have noticed a lot of improvement in my symptoms when out hiking or doing longer outdoor walks. I have not yet tried the insoles for my job, although that will be tested soon. Definitely a great experience and would not hesitate to come back for any other running or footwear needs. Leaving 5 star because I don't want to hurt their average but really wanted to voice this. I showed up before closing time (only 10 mins) but I had left work early specifically to visit. I had a great experience there a long time ago and wanted to use them now that I'm running again. I didn't realize they closed at 4. The door was already locked and even though I said I couldn't come back for months they wouldn't let me in. Well within their right but It wasn't closing time yet. I would've been out by 4. I drove to Fleet Feet, bought a pair of shoes and was out by 4:09. I knew exactly what I wanted and the drive to Fleet Feet was 5 minutes. I would've easily have been out by the posted closing time. Not that It matters to them but It would've been $150 they could've made in less than 5 mins. I found a great pair of shoes at Fleet Feet for that price (tax included). I also have been bragging about the great experience I had at Foot RX for probably 8 or so years each time anyone mentions buying running shoes. So I'm not sure if I've had any references or not but probably. I just haven't been running. Very disappointing and I won't be bragging anymore. I wish them the best and if they are making enough money to Turn people Away I am very happy for them. Needed new shoes and am hard to fit. Found FootRX online and called, talked to Scott who was super knowledgeable and helpful. I knew from our conversation that he was committed to helping people get fitted properly so went next day to the Hendersonville Rd location. Worked with Kelly who was great, spent about 1-1/2 hours with me. I tried on lots of shoes and re-tried until I found two pair that fit and felt great. Have been wearing them for 2 weeks and they're perfect. I called Scott a few days ago to tell him about my experience and we talked at length about the shoes. He assured me that if I had any problems to let him know and he would help. So glad I found them, will go back and will recommend to everyone. Would give them more stars if I could. read more

What a fabulous shop this is! I had an appointment with Joe who is a pedorthist there! I never heard of this before and a friend suggested going there. I'm glad I did! It was an hour appt I told him my issues and the I always have in hips and back, I told him I walk 4 to five miles 4 to five days a week he watched my gait a few times and tried on many pairs of sneakers and orthotics! After time we found a pair that felt really good! I could go on and on ! What it comes down to it his knowledge and help was excellent! Patient with me and easy to talk to!!! Thank you to Joe!! I had a great time stopping by the store today. The salesman was incredibly knowledgeable and they had a wide selection. It turns out they didn't have the shoe I wanted in my size in stock (I've got really wide feet), and the salesperson could not immediately locate it from their suppliers, so he showed me the brand on the manufacturer's website and allowed me to the order the shoe online while I was in the store. Rather than trying to make a commission and pushing me towards a different shoe, the guy was just really authentic in trying to get me what I wanted. That's just such an amazing level of customer service to me. I only wish that I needed to buy running shoes more often. read more

This shoe store is dedicated to helping their customers find exactly the right shoe and they seem to go to Great Lengths to make it happen. They put me on the treadmill, videotaped me running, and then had me try on different pairs of shoes that helped support my knees properly. My massage therapist AND my chiropractor strongly recommended that I get a high-grade therapeutic athletic shoe from Foot RX. I made an appointment on 3/11/21 and met with a sales person to get properly fitted. I tried on several different brands and came to a decision based on fit and style. But they didn't have the color I wanted; they said it would take a few weeks to order it. After 3 weeks, I never heard from them so I called to inquire if my shoes had arrived. Oh, they forgot to order it; it would take several more weeks to come in. When they finally called to tell me the shoe had arrived, I had to wait yet ANOTHER 2 weeks before I could get a fitting appointment which was today 4/23/21. When I get there, they bring out the shoe I ordered but it didn't fit and it didn't fit because I initially told the salesperson that I needed a 7.5 but he insisted I needed an 8. So, they didn't listen to me, they didn't care enough to bother ordering the damn shoe and then made me wait 2 months until this disappointing outcome. Not to mention that when I went online to the brand's website, I discovered that I could have ordered directly from the manufacturer for $30.00 less than Foot RX was selling them for. read more

FootRx was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm so glad I stopped by looking for some relief from plantar fasciitis. Great staff helped me find the best orthotic inserts and I even ended up buying shoes (though there was NO pressure to do so). I'm 55+ and not athletic - partly due to aforementioned plantar fasciitis :-( so I was worried about feeling out of place here. Should not have worried - there were customers of all ages and athletic abilities being served while I was there. Did I mention that the staff is great? I love the selection and the process they use to find the right shoe for us. I was disappointed today with their payment policy. I had been told on my last visit that I would be eligible for a $25 discount on this next visit because of purchasing $250 in shoes in the past. Apparently they have a new computer system and that discount did not flow through to the new system. They did offer a discount off of today's shoes, just not the $25 they had promised me as a repeat customer. It left a bad taste today and I am disappointed they did not make good on their agreement, especially if their new computer system is not keeping up with this information.
