Talloni is the Bologna of shoe stores! I am still flabbergasted by my experience! Below is a bit verbose but worth the read... After meeting the owner Connie at our club, my husband and I thought we would pop into her store. Whilst browsing, we saw a small green purse on a display. Seeing that we are golf fans and the Masters was a week away we decided to purchase said purse. The tag on the purse stated $128. I took it to the register, paid and went about my merry way. This is where the story starts! Approximately a week later, I receive a phone call from the store manager (I assume they scoured through our directory at the club to track me down) stating the item had been mis-marked and should have been $528 not $128 and DEMANDED I make up the difference immediately with a credit card over the phone!!! With purse already in hand and on my way to Honkey Tonk row in Nashville, I wasn't going to let such a bizarre and outrageous demand alter my weekend and whilst I felt some understanding as we all understand mistakes happen but that the purse was only worth $128 to me and not the $528, and it was being used currently on my trip so we would have to come to a solution after vacation. This is where bizarre event number 2 evolves. I decided, being a business owner myself, and feeling empathy for the perceived plight of the sales associate, I said why don't we split the difference and I'll pay cost for the rest. I felt this was a fair proposition and not to mention I have already used the purse at this point on my trip. To my surprise they stated they wouldn't be discounting the purse at all and that I needed to return the purse, USED!!!!! Now mind you it wasn't gently used at this point, my girlfriends and I hopped around Nashville for 3 days celebrating a bachelorette party. I thought she must be kidding and ended the call as clearly my compromise of paying cost was outside her authority. Lo and behold, Ten minutes later I receive a phone call from the owner, Connie. She doubles down and tells me that I should pay full price PERIOD or return the item to the store!!! Flabbergasted to say the least and shocked as never in my life could I have imagined a store owner request USED, receipted merchandise back! She then CAME TO MY HOUSE and picked up the purse!!!!!!! Needless to say, if you see a green purse in Talloni for sale, it's used (with a little honkey tonk love) and whatever you do don't give them your information unless you want a visit from Connie. I'm not sure if a business can get negative stars, but this experience certainly warrants its own classification. read more

I was recommended to visit this establishment by local friends. A couple of weeks ago, what started as a pleasant experience browsing, turned quickly sour once my sister and I were confronted by the person working the floor, who I later looked up as being the owner of the store. She was initially polite and answered our questions, but once we pointed out the "sale" prices still seemed expensive compared other stores we've visited with similar level of products, she became very insulting and rude. She called my sister a "Karen." It's sad how quickly someone's apparent polite and welcoming demeanor can quickly devolve into ugly, hate-filled speech. We even mentioned we would still be willing to pay since it was supporting the local economy, however she refused to sell us the shoes. Talk about terrible customer service, on top of a condescending tone. I want to attribute it to her having a bad day, however in reading the other reviews, I felt I needed to post this to warn others of this behavior, and NOT to patronize such an establishment. I don't live in Asheville but love to visit Talloni when I'm in the area. I have always had a very positive experience with sales associates and the unusual beautiful shoes are wonderful. The jewelry and other accessories are also stunning with many pieces from area designers. I also recommended Talloni to my sister-in-law who was looking for shoes for a special occasion. She was very pleased with her shopping experience and the sandals she purchased. I highly recommend this store if unique details and high-end shoes appeal to you. read more

I just got back from a long weekend in Asheville. I have never posted a review but just felt compelled. This wonderful small store was a great find in so many ways. The great selection of items were fun, so unique and beautiful. The ladies there were kind and gracious and I just left feeling happy! This store was an unexpected surprise. The prices are higher, but the quality is the best I have seen in the area. After searching everywhere for ANY shoe that would fit and match my mother of the groom dress, I found Talloni. The store manager gave me space to look and when I asked for help she was superlative. Oh my goodness. I am not surprised by Shawn V's review after what happened tonight. I have shopped there several times over 5 years and only ever been treated with the utmost respect by the usually lovely staff. Tonight I was scurrying around trying to acquire things at the last minute for a Christmas trip and thought I could find something special at Talloni. I guess in my rush I came across as short when speaking to the sales associate so once I left the store the owner literally followed me to Barnes & Noble to publicly humiliate me. She asked me, "Are you all right" as if to insinuate there was something wrong with me. After I asked her to explain and she said I was abrupt to her 18yr old sales associate I apologized. But she couldn't accept that. She kept going on. I was planning to write her a letter to apologize again and to unfortunately inform her I would never enter her store again but after reading the other review I can see she's not the kind of business owner who cares about losing my business or positive word of mouth. read more

This was initially a fantastic experience. We were staying at the Hilton and walked the area doing some shopping. This Hilton was connected to the store. My wife bought a pair of shoes that were on sale ( over $200 ) and planned on wearing them the next night. Since we were in a hurry my wife asked the young lady what to do if she didnt like them, if she could return them. She was told yes but only for store credit. That was ok since there were other items she liked in the store anyway. After about 5 minutes of having the shoes on in the hotel room, ( on carpet with no wear at all ), my wife said they hurt her feet and she couldnt wear them. We planned on doing the return the next day. We returned monday morning and was greeted by an older lady who, after my wife explained she wanted to return for credit to buy more things (and actually spend more money for what she wanted), was told no. The lady said it was a final sale! She said its on the receipt......in small print on the bottom that you would not see if you we not looking for it! After my wife asked is she could call the other young lady and she would confirm what my wife said about being able to return, she was told by the older lady that " I am the owner and I am not going to take these back or give store credit". We said we didnt understand how she could not make an exception since there was an obvious misunderstanding. She didnt want to discuss anything and became very angry very quickly! Went into complete unprofessionalism and started yelling to get out of the store, that she was done discussing this! She said "This is why we dont like people like you in Asheville!" lol Note... she had that breath you smell the next morning after getting drunk! It is the only explanation we can think of to her rapid and erratic behavior. Passive aggressive smiling to yelling angry face. We feel that she takes advantage on people on vacation. We own 2 businesses and support small business owners every chance we get. Please dont support this unappreciative business owner! read more
