I had some heel pain and I went in thinking that I would just be told that my arches needed support. When I walked in she told me everything that was wrong with my foot. Instantly when I tried on the Joya shoes my heel pain was relieved and she is very knowledgeable about the human foot. We visited Foot Solutions on Saturday to get new insoles for my better half- and were helped by Brittney. Because he had purchased the custom orthotics originally from Foot Solutions a couple of years ago, we were able to get a "tune up", instead of having to replace them. Brittney was very helpful and knowledgable - and really took her time to make sure the orthotics were perfect. She did an awesome job on the orthotics, and we definitely appreciated her great sense of humor and friendly attitude. Beyond orthotics - this store has a great selection of comfortable shoes... and an improving selection of "cute" comfortable shoes. I had been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and it kept me out of work, for the longest time. When I went back to work, I had gotten myself new shoes and put the heel risers in my shoes, but when I went back to work at vons, and since the floor is concrete my foot felt like it was burning and it felt like my foot was going to fall off. So my step mom, who told me about the store and told me that it will do me a lot of good. My dad took me there and I had gotten sandles and work shoes as well, today when I went and wore my shoes they really helped me a lot and gave my feet a lot of comfort. I can't sing praises loud enough for the wonderful shoes offered in this store, and especially to Juanita who freely spent her time in giving me options to test so I could make the right decision. I had foot surgery on both feet 30 years ago. The result was that my toes spread out like a fan, and are very uncomfortable in shoes. At 78 years old I decided I had to take one last look for shoes and my Orthopedist recommended this store. I have walked at least 30 minutes 5 of the past 7 days. A great shop with very knowledgeable staff and owners. I am a recurring client and the experience is always top-notch. My first pair of shoes was business casual style. I needed a pair that allows me to walk easily, that was comfortable and looks good for work. I couldn't be more pleased. Roueida took the time to listen to what I was looking for and explained me how my posture affects my feet and my walking pattern. She was able to recommend the most suitable and supportive shoes for my feet. I have wore them for over 8 months now and they are super comfy! I love their style and I am super happy they last. I always think twice before I buy something because when I am pleased with a purchase I can wear shoes or clothes until it's time to throw them away! With any other shoes, the sole usually wears out unevenly on one side. With these shoes, this isn't the case because Roueida recommended me well on the type of support I need for my walking pattern. Since then, this store is my number one stop (saving hours of wanderings looking for shoes). And I am always pleased with my purchase. Earlier this week, I went for a pair of sandals. So no comment on: - no returns or (if tried at home only) 5 % charge for credit cards; - not even store credit. I would like to add that they are hiding their prices: I had to ask and wait until the lady checked her records. $$$ shoes and flee market approach. Recently I developed blood clots in my ankles (I was wearing Sketchers at the time). It became a situation where I ended up in Tri City Wound control and am recovering to date from the clots that could have been fatal. I went to Foot Solutions today and was personally fitted with shoes that have relieved much of the pain that I would experience after an hour or so in the day. I went to Foot Solutions to try to find some comfortable walking shoes for an upcoming trip. It was not all bad but overall I was not happy and am unlikely to go back there. Here are the pros and cons: The pros: 1) The salesman spent a lot of time with me and seemed knowledgeable about foot problems and shoes. He seemed eager to help me find something that would work. I appreciated his patience and the time that he spent. 2) They have some very comfortable shoes in the store that I haven't seen elsewhere. The cons: 1) Quite a few of the shoes that were on display in the store were not available in my size. I wear a 9 M so it's not a particularly unusual size. 2) The salesman was friendly but also quite pushy and tried to convince me to buy a pair of expensive custom orthotics (which I declined). 3) They only allow you 7 days to return the shoes that you buy. 4) When I did return the shoes that I bought after trying them on at home and deciding that the fit wasn't great, the salesman who had been so friendly and helpful a few days earlier did not look happy and semi-scolded me for returning them. I understood his frustration since he had spent a lot of time with me, but that's not the way to get a customer to come back in the future. 5) I was dismayed when he told me that there would be a 5% charge for returning the shoes. He told me that the store was charged 2.5% by the credit card company for every transaction, including both purchases and returns, and that they had to recoup that amount from their customers. I buy things all the time and have never been asked to pay a 5% fee for returning something without being clearly warned ahead of time that there would be a restocking fee (and that has only happened a few times, usually for a good reason). At Foot Solutions I didn't see any signs in the store about this policy, nor did the salesman mention it before I paid for the shoes, nor was it written anywhere on the receipt. Had I known about this before I bought the shoes I would have hesitated to buy them, or at very least would have spent more time in the store making sure that they were really comfortable. Afterwards when I asked people who worked in other shops as well as a customer service representative from my credit card company about this policy they all said that they had never heard of such a thing. I know that credit card companies charge merchants around 2% on purchases and assume that this is passed on to customers by charging more for everything in the store. Whether or not it is true that a store has to pay the credit card company a fee when an item is returned--I am dubious about this but don't know for sure whether it is truth or fiction--it is wrong to charge the customer a 5% return fee if they have not made this policy absolutely clear before the item is purchased. The shoes that I returned were expensive so I wasn't happy about having to pay this fee without having been warned ahead of time. I'm even wondering whether this is allowed by state consumer protection laws. The next day I went to another comfort shoe store less than a half mile away in Encinitas and had a much better experience. The saleswoman was helpful and patient without being at all pushy. I have bought quite a few pairs of shoes at that store and have also returned some of them after trying them on at home and realizing that they weren't as comfortable as I had initially thought. The salespeople have never seemed annoyed when I have returned anything and have never charged me a fee for the return. THAT is the way to build customer loyalty. It was a relief to go back there after my experience at Foot Solutions and I ended up with a great pair of shoes that were perfect for my trip. read more

The salesman here oversold his ability to help me choose the right solution for my foot pain. After spending $300 there for shoes in which I couldn't walk without pain, I went to a real orthopedic specialist and had to get customized orthotics. (by the way, these were way less than Foot Solutions tried to sell). Foot Solutions would not take the shoes back, even though I had planned to get different walking shoes with the credit. read more

I went into the store to find some walking shoes to wear on a trip to Europe. I have had foot pain for years and I need some very comfortable shoes so I can enjoy my trip. The staff were so helpful and helped me find the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. The brand is Joya and I have been wearing them for walking and what a difference! No foot pain. I am so pleased that they helped me find shoes that don't hurt my feet. I had never heard of the brand before and would not have known, if it were not for the staff. I just purchased my second pair of athletic shoes and custom orthotics from Foot Solutions. I couldn't be more pleased with the selection, service, and expertise. With my fallen arches, two size difference and different width feet, it's impossible to find shoes that REALLY fit both feet. It took time, and a special order of split sizes, but we achieved just that. But it wasn't just the shoes, perhaps more importantly are the custom made orthotics. I've tried them all, both off the shelf and custom made, including a set made by a podiatrist. Foot Solutions orthotics are simply the very best I've ever owned. They were even able to make small adjustments to my orthotics in house. I simply will not go anywhere else. read more

I have previously bought two pairs of shoes for myself and one for my fiancee at this store. I have always found the service to be exceptional and I have recommended your store to many other customers. Sadly, I will never do so again after my experience today. I went into the store and there was one sales person helping a couple as another couple sat waiting; another woman was walking around trying some shoes on. I sat for awhile as the couple being helped tried on various shoes and asked various questions. Eventually, over the course of over 40 minutes, they apparently picked out at least four pairs of shoes among them. During that time the woman who was trying on shoes told me that somebody was helping her in the back, and that person came out to help her again. But nobody ever asked me what my needs were or even attempted to communicate with me or the other couple that was waiting. Finally, after more than half an hour, the salesperson walked near me and I asked him if somebody could at least check in with me and the other couple. He said he thought I was with the woman who had been trying on shoes, but he didn't offer to have anybody help me. In the meantime, another worker had shown up but was apparently 15 minutes early for an appointment. He didn't help any of us who were waiting, either. Another customer then went in, went straight to the back, and was helped by the new salesperson who had arrived. It's fine that they had an appointment, but it was still 10 minutes before the scheduled time. It would have been very simple to have somebody check in with me and the other couple to see what we needed. My needs were simple: I wanted to give them $200 to replace a pair of shoes that I bought there. I knew the size, I knew the style, and I would have been really fast. The first salesman could have helped me in the time it took for the other customers to walk around the store as they tried on their shoes. The new salesman could have completed the entire sale before his scheduled appointment with the other customer. But none of the three employees thought to do the most basic thing that you teach in Retail 101 class. The result? I left frustrated, came home, feel that I wasted an hour and a half (I drove 20 minutes to go to the store), and bought them online in about 5 minutes from somebody else. And I'll now tell people not to go to this store. That's too bad, because they had a good store. But it will now die from online competition like this. The only way to stay in business is to give something I can't get online. And they did that during my previous two visits. This time, though, they just gave me frustration. read more

I have been to this store many times and have always had very excellent customer service. Yesterday, I was there with a friend and Darryl was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We were there over and hour and never felt rushed. The other employee aptly handled the other customers who came in while we were there. I would highly recommend this store to anyone who has difficulty finding comfortable shoes. One time I did need to exchange my shoes and had no difficulty. They only require that the shoes be in sell-able condition. I am sorry the others who reviewed this store did not have the same experience as I did.
