My mom and I have been coming here for years (at their old location) and we finally had some shoes to bring by again at their current location (newer). While we both remember the great quality of work and decent prices, I will say they have gone up a lot and some of their work is great and other times it's been okay, but at least we got the fix we needed. In our most recent visit, I was able to get my mom's cowgirl boots stretched and they did a fantastic job! The toe box was pointed and very tight but after stretching they have been super comfortable to wear. I did drop off my husband's Sperry decks to be resoled and they did a good job, I just know it wasn't exactly what my husband nor I were expecting. The shoes are definitely a lot thicker now as they resoled on top of the worn down original sole. We assumed they would have taken off the original sole and put the new soles on, but again it got the job done and my husband can wear his shoes without slipping on every surface. It might be helpful to be more clear with what you want when you drop them off, as we had just assumed it would turn out a specific way because we were asked no questions. Dropping off the shoes was a little concerning too since all they did was hand us a slip of paper with incoherent writing on it and our last name (written by us). We didn't pay until we picked up the shoes. They only accept cash which is important to know before going. They won't call you when they are done with your items, they just give you a date and when you show up they are ready. Clearly their system works for them. I'm just glad I was able to get some more life out of my husband's decks. read more

My son (7) recently discovered Michael Jackson and has been practicing his dance moves ever since. The one move that he REALLY wanted to do was the "lean" from the Smooth Criminal video. Unfortunately, that move requires very special shoes. I went to several cobblers in North County trying to find some who could make the shoes. We didn't have any luck until we tried this place. They were extremely patient and understanding and willing to take the project on (much to my son's delight). After a couple weeks we picked the shoes up and they were PERFECT. Use any other shoe repair. My brand new boots that I took in to have polished ended up dyed! What?!?! They went from neutral to I can't even describe this awful brown and look at the dyed thread. Brand new and now ruined. Also, to my surprise during drop off I was told it was $4 for the service. I was fully prepared to give him $10 or $15, but now it was $22 for them to ruin my boots. I was in need of having a pair of Jordan shoes repaired due to tearing. After reading the nice reviews, I decided to take my shoes there for repair. This was last Saturday. I was told they would be ready by Friday. I never got a call that they were done, so I went in today(Saturday). They were ready. I was charged $9.50 for the work. I am very disappointed in the quality of the work. They used white thread in the blue section to sew it up. It stands out and looks bad. This particular Jordan 13 shoe is no longer made in this color scheme, so I'm screwed. I do not recommend this buisness if you care about your personal items. read more

If you need shoe repair look no further. I have gotten a few things done here. They can do it all. I bought some second hand store heels thar needed new straps they did that. I bought new heels and the ankle backing sat too high on my ankle and hit in a really uncomfortable spot. I wasn't sure what could be done but they had a solution and I still wear those shoes over 5 years later. Most recently I bought a cheap pair of really cute sandals from shein. I've had a hard time finding something like this so I bought and of course the cheap quality did not fit my foot right. They were able to get the straps fitted even though the material was cheap and quite honestly seemed hard to work with. I don't know how long these will last but that has nothing to do with the quality of work at ruby slippers. If I get a few wears out of them I'll be very happy.
