To be honest, I never heard of this place nor noticed this store until my podiatrist mentioned about it. Based on his recommendation, I was looking for a recovery sandal which I can wear inside the house. I wasn't comfortable ordering online and return if it doesn't work. Finally this place came for my rescue. This store was hidden to me, I have been around this plaza many times, hardly noticed this. I was very specifically looking for a brand - oofos. I didn't realize initially that they serve their customers by appointment. I had to find it the hard way. Went there and the shop was closed, but there was a notice outside with the details. The next day, I called in that number. But no one picked up the phone. But a few minutes later the shop owner (sorry, I forgot her name) called me back and asked me to come over if I was available that time; or else she was ready to give me a time slot later that week. When I arrived, I didn't have to wait. I handed over the prescription, she gave me the choice of couple of models for the sandals. I tried them out, different sizes. She was super helpful and patient to listen to my asks and concerns. She gave some suggestions on the models as well. Finally I have the sandal I was looking for, yay! I wanted to try the oofus shoe as well, but unfortunately it wasn't available. She had noted down that and taken my number so that she could call me once the new stock arrives. I am still waiting for that. Checkout was smooth. She gave me a 10% discount as well. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Shame that they don't carry Hokas, but I will visit them again when I need another fresh pair of sandals or any other recovery shoes. Sherry, the owner is so knowledgeable and helpful. Wow I am amazed at how great a problem solver she is!! I went in with Dr Martin boot shoes, which have the worst construction ever. Purely fashionable with no support and uncomfortable in all kinds of areas. She identified my left foot is both half a size smaller and more sensitive. She gave me a half sole insert with an arch to create more support. Then to reduce the discomfort on the top of my shoe, she stuck this half ball thing on top of the sole insert. Then after seeing I was feeling it protuberate, she moved the half ball thing on the bottom side of the sole insert. She even cut a part of it off with scissors to reduce how much it stuck out. Then she used Velcro to keep the insert in place. Wow I got a whole new pair of shoes. She even said "now you have new shoes". It cost more than I was planning to spend but so worth it. I'll be coming back with any of my shoe problems, and I'll surely be wearing my Dr Martins a whole lot more. FYI - they moved to Irvington area, they're not in warm springs snymore read more

After a weekend of running around, going up and down stairs I woke up Monday morning with a pain on my right heel. Wow what was that sharp pain in my heel. I called up my older brother who had developed planar faciitis from running 10Ks, half marathons and full marathons. He talked about certain exercises but he also talked about orthotic supports. Could my life as an weekend warrior athlete be over. Not if I can help it. I looked on Yelp and found Foot Solutions in Fremont. Great I thought, it was closed to my work and I could go there at lunchtime. I made a visit and met up with Lynn, who showed me the products. The store is clean and very well organized. Lynn requested that I stand up on a machine that can measure your pressure exerted by your body weight. The results showed up on a flat screen in different color gradients and process takes less then twenty seconds. With the results Lynn was able to size me up with a pair of Powerstep Orthotics to help stabilize my right heel. The orthotic insoles cost in the range of $40 to $80.00. So hopefully in a week or two my right heel will heal up. Did you get that? Foot Solutions provides great service and very knowledgeable. read more

I came in with heal pain. The first foot solution was an insert in my regular shoes. That seemed to work for a few months, but the heal pain came back. I came in again, and the second foot solution was a pair of Spira shoes. A little costly compared to my old New Balance, but I'm happy to say those shoes eliminated the heal pain. I came here with my mom since her doctor suggested she get better walking shoes. They were really helpful and knowledgeable. They helped her pick the right shoe and even looked at my feet. I'm younger and would probably never wear those shoes but they told me what to look out for the next time I get shoes. My mom told them that she found their products online for cheaper and they offered to lower the price for her. I wouldn't say the seller (store owner?) was terribly rude. She definitely showed lack of good judgment. When we walked into this shoes store today we saw only one sale associate and she was helping one other customer. 15 minutes later she was still with that one customer. At some points a smart seller would leave a customer alone to breathe & decide which shoes to buy, while show other customers some acknowledgement. If she hangs onto one customer until she sells, it might take all day...without a sale! We really liked the shoes, so we tried to be patient. Then she took a phone call & talked for another good 15 more minutes over some $10 charges on the phone. We were very frustrated because she should take care of the customers, who are ready to buy, in her store, not a phone call! Her store has no AC. I went to Foot Solution because I have been having heel pain. The lady helping me was very knowledgeable about planters facia. She fitted me with some cute shoes for the summer and my foot is not screaming at me as much :) However.......she was very crass and kinda bitc%€!! The owner is very knowledgeable as well but finish all of her sentences with a silent dumb as*!! I had to laugh because they have such wonderful products and really really bad customer service. In my opinion, it is wonderful to be in the top of your field but true success is when you can make people who come to you for help learn something without feeling stupid!! I have gone to various Foot Solutions over time, and you always notice one thing- these folks know what they are talking about, they study foot problems and they are trying to help you. I can also tell you that many of them hear lots of BS from customers who may have spent 20 min thinking about things they spend all year thinking about- which is how to make your feet feel better. They are Pricey, this is true. The ONE thing you should not scrimp on is your feet. Get a great shoe, that lasts for longer than 6 months- my last pair from Foot Solutions lasted 4.5 years. My mom recommended this store for my next pair of running shoes because of their exceptional knowledge of different feet ailments. I tend to have knee pain when I run due to alignment of my legs and feet so I gave this place a try. The lady who helped me was really nice and had me try on 4 different pairs of running shoes (the only 4 they carry) and I decided to try the Brooks. Before I bought them I made sure to ask if I could return them if I didn't like them and she said, "Of course, but make sure you try them for 2 weeks before you decide to bring them back." No probs. I tried them for 2 weeks and they made my feet and legs hurt like crazy. I brought them back and the guy working there was extremely rude. He asked me if I had worn them and I said yes. He said they could only exchange them if I had worn them. I told him exactly what the lady had told me before. She said it was fine to return them (I had specifically used the word "return" not "exchange" when I had asked her) but that I SHOULD wear them for 2 weeks before I did so. He said "that's not our policy. Our policy is to exchange them if you've worn them so I can fit you for a different shoe if you'd like." I said, "I already tried on all the shoes you have and this was the only one that felt good, so I'm not really sure what you'll exchange them for." He begrudgingly refunded my money but said, "I won't do this again." That's ok, because I won't be coming back. I think this store has really knowledgeable employees but when I ask about the return policy, they need to be more specific. Don't just tell me, "Oh yea it's fine" when it's really not. Most shoe stores allow you to try shoes for awhile and return them OR exchange them, and they have ~25 pairs of shoes for you to try if you don't like them. When you only have 4 pairs of shoes for running, it's hard to have an exchange-only policy. Basically, this store is for $100 sandals, not running or exercising shoes. Just know that before you go in there because I was misled going there. And a piece of advice to this store: When one of your employees gives out incorrect information, don't get mad at me and treat me like a moron. I specifically asked about the return policy so I wouldn't be a moron. If I had known that you couldn't return the shoes, I would never have bought them in the first place. So don't treat me like I'm trying to screw you over. I just refuse to pay $120 for shoes that make my feet and legs hurt worse than ever before. I recently began suffering from pain in my heals and saw Dr. Bartis at Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF), who diagnosed me with plantar fasciitis. Dr. Bartis suggested Superfeet insoles and new shoes. Being the research nerd that I am, I did a bunch of searching on the web for Superfeet insoles and Vionic (Orthofeet) shoes and ended up buying the insoles. My pain went from about an 8-9 (scale 1-10) to about a 3-4. Wanting all the pain to go away, I thought I should also do the shoe upgrade. In my emails with Dr. Bartis, he had good things to say about the Vionic "Jackson Square". I searched the Vionic website and eventually ran across Foot Solutions as carrying Vionic shoes. I called Foot Solutions and they advised they didn't have the Jackson Square shoe, but said that they had several solutions for plantar fasciitis and said to drop by. I wanted to see what "intel" was out there for Foot Solutions and found people on Yelp either loved them or hated the guy named "George", (AKA "the old man"). Desperate for relief I decided to stop in. Well it turns out that Foot Solutions is under new ownership, (I believe this year), and I have to say the ladies there were amazing! The lady that helped me was "Lynn" and she was incredible. She listened to go on and on about my heal pain. Everything from how active I was before the pain, to the various gym shoes I've worn the past 5 years, to how I need to get rid of the pain so that I can get back to the gym because I'm gaining too much weight! I have to say that she spend about over an hour, almost two with me taking out multiple athletic and business casual shoes for me to try on. (I lost count after 7 pairs.) There also was a petite soft spoken lady that would peak her head in from time to time trying to see what else they could order for me if I didn't find something in store I liked. Turns out the petite soft spoken lady was the new owner, and Lynn has worked at the store for 10 years (during the previous ownership) and continues to work now that they've reopened. I couldn't make up my mind on business casual shoes so they ended up ordering the Jackson Square shoe for me to do a side by side comparison with another shoe they normally carry. They were just so nice!! I thought I was done, but I then remembered that Dr. Bartis advised that walking barefoot is one of the worst things someone with plantar fasciitis could do. So, I asked if they had slippers that I could use around the house. Lynn's face lit up and she said, "Oh, I have one that I love!" She brought out a pair of Haflinger "Grizzly" slippers. I have to admit that I immediately thought of a sabot, and wasn't impressed, but Lynn had this "you gotta try these" look, so I put them on. Oh my goodness!!! These were the most comfortable things I've ever put on!! I took two steps and told her, "I'm getting these!" By the time I was done there were shoe boxes everywhere, Lynn and the owner new probably more than they wanted to know about me. I purchased these ultra-comfortable slipper, and ordered a couple of work shoes. I apologized to the young lady (I'm guessing college aged) that came in towards the end of my time there because she ended up picking up all the boxes. She was very cheerful and said "Now worries as long as you found shoes that you like." Supporting local, small businesses is important to me and I totally recommend Foot Solutions. From what I've read the previous owner might have had his good and bad days, but the people there now are amazing. With that I'll end just as I started. What a Horrible Experience !!! The store is closing and I think stores with owners like these should close down or move to some other parts of the country. It is really hard to believe even after experiencing it myself that people are so racially biased in the Silicon valley. We went over to this store for our second visit as this store was recommended by my wife's podiatrist. Rather than get a normal greeting when you walk into a store I almost saw a look on their face as if they did not want us in the store. And we should have left right at that time. Anyway , my wife has been in considerable pain with PF and so we really wanted to get her a comfortable shoe. We looked around at a few shoes for her and then we asked for the correct size for the ones that we liked. While all of this is going on a few other folks walk in to the store and the old man who works there walks out and asks for who is next. The people who walked in after us were caucasians and politely pointed to us being next as they saw us when they walked in to the store. The old man did not even look at us and asked who is next almost like I dont care about them and would like to help you. I do not believe I have experienced anything close to this. I guess reading a few of the reviews here I would agree that the old man is probably called DICK for a reason. Dont know if that is what his name is but it would suit him perfectly fine. Anyways , they have a sign which states the sale is 30-60% off on everything but there is not a single mark on anything to state what the discount is and they seem to make it up when you ask them for the prices. The prices are higher than what you would get online even with the discount and I found this out after we bought one shoe for my wife. I went there on the advice of a trusted source, but the shoes I bought (for not a cheap price either), completely came apart after nine months. Both soles are cracked all the way through. These are office shoes I wear maybe 4 days a week. The soles were hardly worn through. The guy I spoke with (friday the 8th, 5:30 pm) said it was because I must have a weird step. Yeah. right. whatever. Then he tried to sell me another pair. No shoe I have ever had came apart like this, nor wore 'weird' so as to indicate they would. I know nine months is a bit of time, but the wear on the soles was minimal. they should have offered to replace them and then complained to their supplier, not blame it on the customer. If you want this kind of service, this is the place for you, if you expect better service for your money, shop elsewhere. I will. Thinking back on this, he could have at the very least had me step on their fancy pressure mat and then backed up his flat denial with at least an one full ounce of BS. This place is fantastic! The service is educated, professional, friendly, and not pushy in any way. I walked in the other day to get my mom some shoes for work since she's on her feet all day, and after describing what she does, her experience, her various knee surgeries, and my budget, they immediately had a shoe in mind for her. They explained the technology to me, and I really felt confident in the purchase I was about to make. I bought a gift card and after presenting it to my mom, we immediately went to Foot Solutions and got her the shoes. They explained the fit of the shoe, from insight on my mom's narrow heels to putting some cork inside the shoe to accommodate it. Once she put them on, she said her feet felt amazing, and the shoes were fantastic. Needless to say, she was stoked. She told me today after working for 9 hours, her feet don't ache like they use to, and neither do her knees that he's had 3 surgeries on. To sum it all up, Foot Solutions is worth every penny, and will always get my business in the future. They know their stuff, and are fantastic people. A few months ago, I noticed my left foot hurt when I walked. The small toe next to my big toe was swollen and I felt a large knot on the ball of my foot. I thought maybe I stubbed my toe and didn't realize how bad it was or possibly sprained my toe. I figured it might get better but after a couple more weeks - it was worse. I went to Palo Alto Medical Foundation in May. The doctor I saw said my symptoms most likely were from inflamed nerve endings in my foot. He suggested "Foot Solutions". He said from his experience, I needed a foot support and additional attachment under that support to alleviate the pressure from the actual ball of my foot. I was excited to see if something as simple as a foot support would help. I went right to Foot Solutions in Fremont off of Warm Springs. When I walked in I was greeted by Lynne. She took a few minutes and listened to my problem. She was very friendly and sympathetic to my problem. She had me take my shoes off and began to suggest (first of all) a better shoe in general that I should be wearing. Then a gentleman who was sitting towards the back (George Paris) asked me to walk towards him. After doing so, he told her to get a size 7 shoe. I said but I'm a size 6 1/2? He replied - nope you're a size 7. Lynne brought out from the back a size 7 Brooks shoe. Then Mr. Paris handed her two foot supports with the additional attachment UNDER that support already in place. I started to question - how do you know where to put the attachment? That the doctor said it needed to be placed just below where my pain was. I was shocked Mr. Paris would know that I was a size 7 and where to place the extra support attachment without even measuring my foot. But, after I tried the shoes on, my shock turned in the sheer excitement. My foot felt tons better. It was not perfect mind you - there was still some discomfort - but much improved. When I got there, I could barely put any weight on my left foot and now I could at least walk on it. That was May 22nd and now, about a month later, it's about 80% better. I still have some discomfort but the swelling in my toe is almost gone. There is still a small knot on the ball of my foot but the improvement - in just a month - remarkable! I can't say enough about Lynne and Mr. Paris. They really know their stuff!! I would recommend going to Foot Solutions if you're having similar problems like I mentioned above or if you need advice on a good pair of shoes. read more

I didn't know what to think when I came in here the other day to shop for running shoes. I need a special type of shoe in order to run without serious pain and told them about my problem. They immediately knew how to fix this and helped me select a shoe that fit and was comfortable. I have been passing here for years and didn't think that a running store was near my house and that's essentially what it is although they also sell specialty orthotics as well. HORRIBLE customer service EVER!!! I walked in here looking for some running shoes for my plantar fasciitis(PF). One other customer was being helped by an older gentlemen who told me someone would be right with me. A few minutes went by and some lady came out asking me if I needed help. Told her i was interested in a certain running shoe for my PF. She asked me if a Dr. recommended this certain shoe or did I just want this shoe. Told her i was recomended by my masseuse n a friend. She went to measure my foot...told me i had a flat foot and another type of shoe would be better. She walked away, not telling me anything...and some other lady customer walks in and she goes to help her instead. Not communicating with me she would be right back, she would get me a shoes to try on, she would help this customer real quick and would be back to help me....i walked out and never turned back. I recommend Beck's shoes in either Fremont or Milpitas instead! They greet u promptly upon entry. Even if they busy with other customers. I didn't expect much from Foot Solutions, but I was extremely impressed after my visit! I was doing some spring cleaning, and I noticed that I don't wear a lot of my shoes because they're so uncomfortable. I had either worn them out or they were stylish heels that just hurt after a while. I was going to donate them, but I figured it was worth a shot to take them to a comfort shoe store to see if anything could be done. The man and woman there were so patient, and they showed me different insoles I could add, and they even stretched all 10 pair of my shoes for free! The shoe stretching completely changed the feel of the toe box of all of the shoes. I didn't know it would make such a huge difference. My flats have amazing supportive insoles now (that I can pull out and swap between shoes), and even my pointy designer stilettos are actually comfortable - I never thought could be possible. I bought three insoles (thin ones for ballet flats and sturdy ones for running shoes). I'm still in awe - I feel like I have an entire new wardrobe of shoes! I'm thrilled, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone! read more

Since I'm super picky about my shoes and making sure they fit correctly, I take up a bit of their time in trying different shoes. I've worn custom orthotics my whole life, and getting comfortable and supportive shoes has always meant more expensive shoes. They've always had a decent selection for athletic, casual and dress shoes.
