My sweet fur-baby.

Dr. McGehee saw my 12 year old lab/aussie mix today. She's terrified of all vet offices, and once again, the staff at FAH&E were able to utilize minimally invasive handling techniques to examine and handle my sweet babe. I've heard there are less expensive Vets, but they don't provide the level of care nor do they have the expertise and equipment available to diagnose my loved one the way this place does. The receptionist was upfront with the exam fee when I made the appointment, AND Dr. McGehee discovered the cause of her problems AND treated her without any hidden or surprising charges. They genuinely care about the fur babies they treat and it shows. This is the only vet I'll take my baby.

Took our Aussie here for the first time and cannot say enough great things about this business. Everyone from the front desk to our Vet Dr. Niki Kelland were amazing. Our pet is a 12 year old Aussie with advanced lung cancer. The tech Matt was very attentive and knowledgeable. Matt and Dr. Kelland spent quite a bit of time talking with us and our pet. No unnecessary tests, cost was very reasonable and when we left we felt so much more at ease with our situation. We live in town and there are closer Vets but we were happy to drive the extra miles for the special care Foothills Animal Hospital provided. We are so glad we tried them. (our normal vet has retired and left us searching for a new one)

Holding Bucks paw..

The staff absolutely treated my boy Buck with the upmost care and love during his visit 8/18/2023. The checked him in, immediately put him in an oxygen tank. Once he was breathing better they did X-rays and a CT scan. His heart was so big it was pushing his sternum and ribs. And there was a tumor in his heart. The gentle, kind, and support they provided will always be appreciated. My boy passed peacefully as I held his paw. Thank you for your care and gentle treatment of my boy Buck!

The veterinarian and her staff were so kind and provided comfort for both myself and my furbaby Spartacus in his last moments.

They've always been great with my Josie! They saved her life after only having her 2 days.

Between Southern Counties Rescue and Petfinders I'm not impressed with either one…read more I was looking for a Nebelung cat to replace one that had passed a couple of years ago. I checked the Petfinders site and found one that my wife and I were very interested in. This led me to Southern Countries Rescue site. I filled out their rather extensive application and received a phone call a few days later to follow up on the application. It was implied that the cat we were looking for was in San Clemente, Ca.. I was on a trip and decided to see him at a pet adoption event at a pet store at the suggested location. I met with a pleasant woman and discussed the cat I was interested in adopting. She informed me that the cat is located in El Centro, Ca. and not San Clemente. That was a reason he's was not at the adoption event. However, she informed me that he was still available and that I would be notified later in the week for me to see him. I could either drive to El Centro or they might possibly bring him by my location in San Diego. I asked if I need to do anything else in the way of contacting someone to set this up and was told no, they would be contacting me later in the week. My wife and I had a short trip planned for 3 days and it would not impact meeting the cat. We arrived home sooner than expected in hopes of meeting the cat. No one ever called me or my wife nor did they bother to email me to let me know of any changes. I waited around Friday through Sunday but no one ever contacted us. I went back to the Petfinders website and the cat we were looking at was no longer listed on their site. I'm not sure if this is a standard practice for them but I will not recommend their organization based upon my experience with them. I mentioned early on that I wasn't happy with Petfinders either. The reason for this is I inquired about another cat in Northern California to adopt also. I contactEd the agency and never heard from anyone there as well. I checked their site later and the cat I was interested in was no longer listed on the Petfinders site. I realize Petfinders is a middleman for adoptable pets. I feel they should be required to vet the adoption agencies as stringently as agencies vet the potential pet owners. It would reduce the level of frustration experienced by those of us looking for a rescue pet. I'm beginning to understand why so many pets go un-adopted. I won't be utilizing anymore pet rescue sites after this experience.
