We bought a new house that had Shaw engineered hardwood floors in some areas and carpeting in other…read moreareas. Our daughter has allergies so we needed to get rid of the carpeting. We found Preferring Flooring on the Shaw Website. Preferred Flooring did a great job. First, Shaw is a little weird because they don't offer the same products to the consumer market that they offer to new home builders. Preferred Flooring found us the equivalent Shaw engineered hardwood that matched perfectly. Second, they did a great job installing the floors including removing the carpeting from the stairs and installing and staining the stair treads to match the Shaw engineered hardwood. Third, they gave us a reasonable price and came in on budget. We also had them do a little tile work in the master bath, which turned out great. Their salesman Jeff Parker is great to work with as are their installation crews. We highly recommend Preferring Flooring and would absolutely use them again.

Lucas and his Right Step crew removed old carpeting, installed new hardwoods to match the existing red oak, and custom stained and refinished the existing oak floors throughout our 2200 sq. ft home. They had the daunting task of mimicking paler-shaded white oak flooring from our orangey-red oak floors. If this is the aesthetic you are trying to achieve, you will quickly come to realize through research that it can be a hit or miss process. Lucas and his team hit it out of the ballpark! We were extremely impressed with Lucas's professionalism, expertise, sage recommendations, and responsive communication. He is absolutely meticulous in his craft. Through testing, he discovered that we had a mix of different types of hardwoods that may have gone unnoticed by others during the refinishing process but would have definitely impacted the final look of the floors. Because of his diligence-our floors look perfect! He and his team were always prompt, worked tirelessly, and were a pleasure to work with. It was great to have a reliable point person through the entire process. Brentwood called me the day before the installation to confirm, which I appreciated. Installation team showed up the following morning on time. The team consisted of three men- all courteous, experienced, and hard-working. 1650 sq ft of carpet including two staircases, old removed and new installed all in one day. They worked for nearly 12 hours! But I never saw them rush; they took great care in their work. They cleaned up (inside and outside) and vacuumed completely before leaving. I'm so glad we did not go the big box store route. For my wife and me, having Wes as our point person and knowing a high-quality install team would be doing the work were invaluable.

We needed our kitchen floor replaced because the wood laminate had some water damage. After getting…read morea quote from a local competitor, we decided on Floor Masters because they were cheaper after including a Duke 10% discount that Marcus alerted us to. We appreciated the promptness of measuring our kitchen and providing a quote. Unfortunately, after paying the first half as a down payment, there were delays in the shipment of materials that pushed the installment back 11 days. We felt that Marcus' communication during this time could have been better, particularly since it left us without a stove for over 2 weeks. The final product (pictured below) looked good overall, but we were disappointed in a couple of the decisions with quarter rounds that looked funky. Marcus did get someone out to fix it within 24 hours. The final charge wasn't what he initially quoted, but that was remedied with a few emails. Overall, Marcus' communication was not what we were hoping for, and we likely won't be going back to Floor Masters.

Working with Wakefield Flooring was a mess, with James being really rude to me, but I can deal with…read moremen who get frustrated when mistakes happen (like them having us move items back into the house before the job was done and James taking pictures of one pair of underwear on the floor, having fallen out when we were moving laundry, and harassing me with that to say we were slobs, when they weren't even supposed to be at the house that day). James will likely reply to this with a he said she said sort of shaming, but this next problem is indefensible: now our flooring is breaking and they won't respond to me when I've tried to contact them. I think it's a manufacturer error, but it could be installation. I know my daughter's motorized wheelchair is part of the wear, but they knew we needed something that could handle that. The LVP boards are lifting and the corners breaking. It's troubling that they won't stand by their work or help facilitate communication with the manufacturer. (Also, if anyone knows how to get in touch with Nuvelle flooring, who made our LVP, I'd appreciate it!) ((I do see James likes to post personal emails to make himself look innocent here. If you saw all of our emails and knew that they cleared us to move items back into the house before they were completely done with the job, whatever he posts out of context in response to this is carefully selected to make himself look good. The real question for him is "have you responded to Shannon about the damage and pictures she has sent you?" He hasn't.))
