A favorite of the Troy resident generally speaking. I love that you can play skeet ball and that there is an outdoor "patio" that you can enjoy some fresh air. Generally a bit overcrowded with local college students and barflies. You can bogart the jukebox pretty easily (but the bartender can override your selections... and will). Walked in here during the Troy Victorian Stroll with my fiance and we were immediately charmed with the layout and charm of the place. We were not really ready for drink (Jayne had to work night shift) but we hung out for a while and enjoyed the atmospher. The game rooms are really cool and it seems like something new around every corner when you walk around the place. I will wait and see about the rude bartenders everyone is talking about. My two best friends, longtime Troy residents, got married last month, and as one of the maids of honor I was tasked with planning their stag night. I immediately thought of Footsy's, and I'm so glad I did. They let us colonize their back room, bring in our own decorations and food, and were generally just wonderful and indulgent of a party of ten girls playing Cards Against Humanity for three hours on a busy Friday night. They don't do formal reservations, so I had to get there a bit early to make sure we could take over the space, but all the other customers were really great about making room for us, and it was an awesome time start to finish. Definitely one of the oddest places in Troy, but in a good way. Good beers and awesome ambiance. It's an old house turned into a bar and it has all sorts of memorabilia and trinkets hidden away in its corners. Great place for darts too. read more

This place is awesome. It's actually called footsy magoos. They have skee ball which I haven't played in years for 25 cents a game. Haven't tried the food but I have heard good things. The interior of the bar is decorated quite uniquely and is definitely worth checking out. read more

Let me begin by saying it breaks my heart to give Footsie Magoo's a 2.. I love the idea of this place; the name is catchy -even though you might say "what?!" a few times, after that it sticks. I love that it's not lit up with trashy neon signs etc.. It should be a little better marked though because other than the candles in the window it blends in with the rest of the street! The inside is gorgeous with low intimate lighting. I love all the rooms and the way they tastefully tucked away all the gaming etc.. Ok here's the "but" the service is down right horrendous! The blonde bartender always looks so pitiful and is so hateful towards customers.. I've been in there a few times and tried talking to her but acts like she can't hear you or if that doesn't work she gives you a one word answer and then runs off pretending to be busy when there's 3 people in the place. She's always there when I've gone and I'm not the only o e to complain. I really hope they find good staff soon because I would hate to see another good place go down in flames in downtown Troy. read more

this is where hubby and i do date nite. friendly staff , we've never had to wait long for a drink. always great drink specials. you can bring food in,, which is quite convenient. juke box always has credits on it and great music to choose from. we love the darts and the eclectic feel to the place. always decorated for holidays. only problem we ever has was parking sometimes but it's like that everywhere in Troy. This place is amazing. I mean once you can get over the fact the decor is incredible (both mens and womens bathrooms are breathtakingly gorgeous..don't ask how I know about both). If you get stop looking around, and playing skee ball long enough to get a drink, the drinks are great too. Well stocked, GREAT prices, and maybe its just the time I went because it was slow we got quick service. I can't say good cause I've definitely met friendly bartenders, he wasn't rude he was just a boring bartender. I love that its dark lit, hidden, with no sign. Awesome bar. read more

My favorite bar. Great atmosphere and decor. I always look forward to a trip to the bathroom for the inspirational message on the chalkboard. Strong drinks, lots to do, and the owner is delightfully friendly and in-tune with his customers. My friends and I were regulars here, despite the 40minutes it took me to get there from my last apartment. I definitely recommend it. Just steer clear of the bartenders, they are the reason I docked a star. They can be abrasive and ruin a good evening, so grab your drink and back away from the bar before their bad mood sucks you in. read more

Really cool place, I don't think there's anywhere else like it around. Seems more like something you'd see in Brooklyn since it's usually filled with hipster type folks...They have a ton of draft beer options, special cocktails, and games like skee ball and foosball (sp?). It can definitely get packed, and you most likely won't get to hear your juke box selections come on, but I have enjoyed myself every time I have visited. read more

Footsy Magoo's is one of the more interesting places I've hung out at night. Certainly a unique place, which made me wonder what type of establishment existed there back in the day. Since it is a bar, they have a full bar, which an average selection. What sets this place apart though, is the skeeball. I can't think of another bar that has skeeball, and it can certainly be an entertaining night out with friends if you are able to get a skeeball game or two in. read more

I'm not in Troy often, maybe enough times to count on one hand every year. I'd say that I've been to Footy's every single time I'm around. Thanks to my firneds for pointing me to a great place! The even had free cookies and other desserts when I was up around the holidays! Always happy to be there! Great drinks, great layout, great people! read more

Spent money all night, place closed without telling anyone then refused to let 1 person use the bathroom before we left. Made us wait in the cold for an Uber that was 7 minutes away. It wasn't a matter of anyone being drunk, it was a matter of misrable workers. read more

In town on a weekend with a lot of RPI alumni. The Ruck was very crowded, so my friends came here. Good choice. Large place, I can't ever see it getting crowded. Like many other Troy bars, causal, which is a plus. Mixed drinks are good. I ordered a Jack and Coke for $6, which came in a 6-8 oz glass. At first I thought I was overpaying (compared to the Ruck which would give you a 16 oz glass for that price.) Then I tasted the drink, and understood the price completely. Only two complaints are that 1) Last Call is at 2 AM, and 2) Not a very good draft beer selection ,although a good bottled beer selection. The best draft beer I remember was Blue Moon. read more

Great place to have afternoon drinks! Large bar with comfy stools and a fun atmosphere.

Used to really enjoy this place, however I was not impressed when I was there last night celebrating my birthday. It apparently has become routine for the men's room door to always remain open so that patrons are able to watch a steady stream of men relieving themselves in a very public and highly trafficked area of the bar. Myself and the group I was with were definitely turned off by people essentially urinating in plain view, and by the fact that staff didn't seem to think anything off it. Drinks are good and the rest of the place is pretty fun but this was enough of a turn off for me to not return. read more

I agree with all the great things said about Footsy's, and some of the not so great, like the unfriendly bartenders, and one is the co-owner. Still the place is amazing, and feels like home, but one big problem... What happened to the great live music? The band that used to play there a few times a month has not been there in ages, they are so great and the main reason my friends and I went there, so come on you guys, be nice to the paying customers and get Chris Busone and his band back there! read more

Very unique decor is one of the hallmarks of this place. It's also quite large, with lots of nooks and crannies to find yourself in. They have a full bar, and usually some kind of drink special. Not going to lie, they have the best mojito this side of Puerto Rico! Try the strawberry one. Whether it's quiet of hopping (depending on when you go), it's always a fun time! read more

This is one of my favorite bars to go to. Never a dull moment. The drinks are reasonably priced, and they always have great music playing. The decor makes this places, its a little out there but adds to all the fun. They have lots of old school game, like Foosball, skeeball, and pin ball machines. I love that they always have jars of candy sitting out, and a pitcher of water. Its nice not to have to stand at the bar for a glass of water after you have had one to many drinks lol. Another cool feature is their bathroom wallpaper. Its covered in old magazines, its actually pretty cool. The one suggestion I have for this bar is to have more signs.
