One party member did not like his out and the offer was to take it off the bill or bring him a different one. We had the appetizer of cheese garlic bread just delicious and with a nice presentation and shareable. They have a unique bear menu although I would like to see you different ones added. The personal pizzas are delicious. You can watch them making your pizzas right there would fire mouth of Bacchus. The large pepperoni pizza serves three people easily. Perfect Saturday night pizza! I recently ordered takeout and got a half broccoli (for me)/half sausage (for my roommate) and it was delicious! The crust was fluffy and the broccoli was perfectly cooked! Unfortunately, as a non-meat eater, some of his sausage ended up on my broccoli side so I had to pick that off and affected the flavor but not too much. We also ordered the shrimp spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was possibly the best spinach dip I've ever had! So creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor I could eat it all the time. Bacchus Wood-Fired is absolutely delicious! My favorite aspect of this place has to be the atmosphere and ambiance. The pizza oven creates such a fun vibe, and the ambient lighting enhances the whole experience. We started with their garlic bread, and it was divine - freshly baked bread with gooey mozzarella inside. Just thinking about it now is making my stomach growl haha I tried the Bacchus Pizza Margherita, The Ambustus, and the Cheese Trigeminious, and they were all incredible. My top picks were definitely the Ambustus and the Cheese Trigeminious. The personal-sized pizzas are just the right portion, but you can also opt for a larger size for a slightly higher price, perfect for a tasty lunch the next day! I'm already planning my next visit to try their Shrimp Pesto Pizza and the Hercules Pasta. Plus, they have a fantastic deal on Mondays - a beer and a personal-sized pizza for only $10. Had a nice night out after the holidays. Side salad, garlic bread, mild wings, a large pepperoni pizza and a personal three cheese pizza. Everything was timed perfect. The food was hot and fresh. We did not feel rushed, the temperature inside was very warm considering it's so cold outside, and the server Sara was extremely attentive. I stopped in on a random Tuesday, no show at the Troy Music Hall. I got a 4 cut pizza and house salad. It was all SO FRESH! A wood fired pizza is such a rare treat, and Bacchus never disappoints! I hate to say that I got violently ill from this, but I got violently ill from this. The service was AMAZING, and we had such a good experience while in the restaurant. The grotto table was so fabulous and fun and perfect for our chatty little group. The garlic bread was fantastic. All in all though, I am currently sitting on the toilet with one regret as to my choice of restaurant this evening. Great spot for wood fired pizza and pasta! I went on a Tuesday evening and was sat immediately. We started with the roasted garlic bulb and wood fired garlic parm wings. Both were fantastic! For entrees, we ordered the Mozza'Bella pizza and Spaghetti and meatballs with their red pepper cream sauce. The pizza was perfectly cooked. It was topped with meatballs, mozzarella, spinach, and garlic with a red sauce. I can't recommend it enough! The pasta was also delicious and the sauce was great. I was in Troy a few weeks and did not double dip eating at one spot except for Bacchus. Their wood fired pizza was amazing, especially paired with a decent wine menu. I frequented two Thursday nights and the place was very relaxing and chill. Good menu to make your own pizza or pasta. I had the ambustus, nice and spicy. Overall great experience. I had such a wonderful time at Bacchus! Located in a basement, this intimate and dimly lit bar/restaurant feels like you've temporarily left reality. The interior is really cool, and if you look carefully you'll find what looks like an old wine cellar turned into an intimate seating for four. Beyond this, there is a bar area, an additional indoor eating area, and outdoor seating- plenty of space for groups small and large. Importantly, the pizzas were delicious! A scrumptious wood fired pizza with a variety of toppings, including a create your own option! Most pizzas have a personal size or sharing size option (brunch pizzas are personal size, but still shareable if you get more than one). We ordered the "Dear Dana" and "Pan's Labyrinth" pizzas. Both were fantastic but the Pan's Labyrinth really hit home for me- the balsamic drizzle really added a nice and flavorful contrast to the pizza. Finally, our server was very nice, and when we asked about dessert, she recommended this amazing dessert bread, which featured pizza dough, Nutella, marshmallow fluff, and whipped cream sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs. My wife and I stopped here before a show at the Troy music hall on a Friday night. We had the Artichoke Spinach dip for an appetizer, and it was delicious! We shared a pizza and it was equally delicious as well. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was a little loud but the place was packed and everyone was enjoying good food and good company. We were very disappointed by the service our party of 6 (3 couples) received on a Sat. evening. We were there for only 1 1/2 hours and had just paid the check when staff (our server and the manager/owner) began aggressively clearing our empty glasses. A few minutes later, we were about to leave when the manager/owner again approached the table and said he needed the table because there was a line at the door. He said we could sit at the bar but we needed to leave the table. Now, from our viewpoint we could not see the line. What we COULD see was empty tables (plural) in our immediate vicinity. So, we had NO idea there were people waiting. Surprised and hurt, we left the restaurant immediately. NEVER have I experienced this treatment before. We were astounded. I've been to Bacchus maybe two or three times over the past ten or more years. I don't know why I haven't been there more frequently. It's quite convenient to the Troy Music Hall directly across the street so you can stop in before a performance or even after a show if it's on a Friday or Saturday when they are open until midnight. I know I've suggested it to my wife numerous times even when we weren't going to the Music Hall. Finally, last week I convinced her to return after recently having had the opportunity to try wood fired pizza at some other places. The atmosphere at Bacchus reminds me of some of the Old Montreal places we've come across. You enter from the street into the basement of an old stone building that I believe may have once been a church. Heavy stone support walls separate the small rooms in the restaurant, you almost feel like you are in the catacombs of some cult where you see a fire burning in the mouth of the sculpture of the god Bacchus. That's where your pizzas will come from. The pizzas are available in two sizes - 8" ($6.95) and 12" ($10.95). There are all the standard toppings available in addition to some less offered options, e.g., artichokes, feta cheese, pepperoncinis, and fig. You can design your own pizza by upgrading your sauce ($1/$2) from choices of Pesto Sauce, Roasted Garlic Alfredo, or Garlic Infused Olive Oil before choosing your toppings ($.90/$1.75, although meatballs, sausage, chicken, and shrimp have slightly higher costs for each size). We decided to take the easy way out by choosing two of the small pre-designed Specialty Pizzas. We went with The Ambustus and The Mozza Bella ($10.95 each/ small). The Ambustus came with blackened chicken, mushrooms, jalapeños, red onions, and topped with a spicy tomato sauce. A light hand was used in applying the chicken and tomato sauce, but there were plenty of jalapeño slices, red onion slices, and mushrooms, and a reasonable amount of fresh mozzarella. The dough had a very nice flavor, was enjoyably chewy, and had some nice brown and char spots along the edge of the crust. If I wanted to change anything, I think I would ask for more char on the edges and crispness on the bottom if possible. The Mozza Bella came with meatballs, fresh mozzarella, spinach, fresh minced garlic, and the standard red sauce. We also opted to add their homemade Italian sausage ($1.75) so we could sample it. The blend of flavors for the Mozza Bella were totally different from the Ambustus but just as enjoyable. The crust was similarly charred and I have to wonder if we had arrived at a later hour (more than 30 minutes after they had opened) whether the oven would have been hotter and the dough more crisped. Not to overlook the craft draft beers, I was quickly drawn to the Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout ($6/pt), not only because of the sign hanging on the wall above our table, but also because it was the darkest of the dozen offered and a favorite of mine. My wife had the Brooklyn Insulated Dark Lager ($5/pt) and was pleased with her selection. And while I didn't say anything about it, they also serve seven different varieties of Pasta and they also serve wine. Service by Kimberly was prompt, friendly and efficient. I'm hoping there won't be as long between visits in the future. Maybe some Yelp friends would enjoy having a gathering here. read more

They have a very simple menu. Pizza and pasta. But its really well executed and you can create whatever you want. It's also really easy to spend a lot of money here because of that. If you want any sauce other than red, there's an upcharge. Chicken is considered a premium topping. So with my brilliant imagination we got a 12" pizza with garlic alfredo sauce, blackened chicken, broccoli, and ricotta and it ended up costing us $21 for that alone. I also expected the pizza to be a little bit bigger. It was a decent size for two people but because of the thin crust it was really easy for us to eat the whole thing. Then we didn't have any leftovers so instead we ordered two 8" pizzas to bring home! I was actually kinda glad I didn't stuff myself because then I still had room for dessert. Had a pizza from here a couple of months ago and it was truly delicious. About a month ago I decided I wanted to try their spaghetti. It was not good at all. I originally ordered it to go but decided to just eat it there. Apparently no one ever does that because that bartender acted like that was the weirdest thing she'd ever seen. That's the only reason I can think that they decided to put those dry burnt meatballs with the order. Maybe they thought since I was leaving with the order that I wouldn't be there to complain about it. It wasn't even subtle. Those meatballs looked bad right away. I tried them but nope! I just ate the spaghetti and left the meatballs right on the plate. When the bartender took my plate she didn't even ask about why the meatballs were uneaten and she already had me feeling like I was straight from outer space for changing my mind and deciding to eat there. Based on the reviews, it appears that this business has consistency issues. We were hoping to get lucky, we didn't. The pizza was underwhelming, overpriced, and with horrible service. Toppings were sparse, dough was tough and bland, and there was very little cheese. This is not a place I would ever come back to, or recommend to anyone else.
