I knew from the second I saw the sign that For Five Manhasset was going to be a success. I've lived in manhasset for 20 years now, and trust me when I tell you that i've seen 292 Plandome Rd businesses close one after another after another. In all my years of living 292 has been at LEAST 6 different stores. Until I saw that For Five sign put up. At the time I had no idea what For Five was, besides the fact that it said coffee roasters, but i had never heard of the company, nevertheless i was thrilled it wasn't just another boutique (which this town has damn near enough of) Once there was news of opening and hiring my younger sister got a job here (this review is unbiased i PROMISE) she worked here for a very short period of time as it was her senior year of high school at the time and she's now been away at school for 4 years now (WOW) Because she worked here I was introduced to some of the lovely faces behind the business including Stefanos, Christos, and Tom (and a few other of the OG faces that were here at opening) They were all so welcoming and happy and definitely for the People. Besides the coffee being delicious and the food being actually spectacular for a coffee shop, another reason for this location being a huge success is their stellar location. They are located on Plandome road RIGHT across from the train station. The perfect spot for all the early risers and commuters heading into Penn on the LIRR, the perfect spot for all the kids leaving school on their lunch break, or on their morning walks to school. It is quite literally in the center of the town of Manhasset and it is PERFECT. Service is always top tier, and i've never been disappointed in all the 5 somewhat years i've been coming here. Some of my favorite things that i've gotten in case you're going by my review for advice is their macchiato, their gotham mocha (which honestly i don't know how this will work now that gotham manhattan has officially closed forever due to covid RiP) their MATCHA which is fantastic especially when you add a pump of lavender. As for food, their menu is constantly changing and evolving, i'm pretty sure it changes seasonally but i could be mistaken. i'll post a photo of their current menu, as some items they keep! My favorites are their tuna poke, dolsot bibimbap, dan dan noodles, and the koulouri + poached eggs. From their grab and go their spanakopita and their tiropita are fantastic, they make their own massive cookies which are always a hit, and they have a bunch of other absolutely epic desserts like cakes, pies, loaves etc. The inside of the restaurant is sleek and dark with some white marble tables and black seating, and some tables are a light wood, PERFECT for photo taking (they knew what they were doing) There's wifi so you can do your work and a great playlist...(although i work in the restaurant industry and i know music is a touchy subject as it can get extremely repetitive lol, but it's always really good in here IMO) If you're in the area definitely stop here OR stop at any of their other locations because they are 100% worth every penny (as they are a bit pricey, but again...money well spent) read more

I am extremely impressed with this coffee place. My coworker asked if I wanted bougie coffee and I thought she was kidding but in fact it was bougie! I love it and I sure as hell am bougie. This is the best coffee shop, hands down!!! This place not only has amazing coffee but also has amazing food and desserts! My favorite breakfast sandwich is the Manhasset. But I just can't get over the OVERPRICING on everything and the SLOWEST SERVICE I have ever experienced in a coffee shop... the decor is very nice, the people are not rude, they just sleep walk... Even if there is one person wanting to make a purchase!! I tried on the week days in AM, on the week days in PM, I tried on the weekend. So this is not based on one visit. You'd think that at least in early morning on a week day, when they know people are rushing to the commuter train (they are right by the train station), they would put themselves in second gear for a couple of hours, but no... if it's between getting a latte or missing the train, I am making sure I make the train. But that's just a testament to how good their coffee and their food tastes! I was able to get the last 2 seats at the bar both times. I love the clean decor, the hipster vibe, and friendliness of all the workers. Gotham Mocha was perfect blend of coffee and chocolate. Mmmm. The beans used for their iced coffee had a semi-strong, slightly bitter taste to it which I liked a lot. They rotate some stuff on their food menu, but I tried their Dolsot Bibimbap (surprisingly very very good!), chicken banh-mi (delicious take on this vietnamese sandwich, but not like the really authentic banh-mis if that is what you're expecting) , and creme brulee French toast (delicious, but on the sweeter side as expected). I really want to love For Five, but I end up just liking it, every time I go. Beautiful interior and great location, but very expensive (i.e. I paid $8 for a large decaf iced latte). Thankful for the outdoor seating, especially during COVID. The food is hit or miss. I should have known better than to order the okonomiyaki (a Japanese seafood pancake) -- it was too thick and not well cooked. Having had this delicacy at Japanese restaurants in NYC, I was disappointed in their version. Their 'regular' lunch dishes (salads, egg sandwiches) are more reliable. Again, the prices are high, so expect to pay around $20+ for food+drink at lunch. My daughter loves their 'cookies,' which are thick and more like cupcakes than cookies. What makes this place 5 top stars was the Chocolate and Almond perfect flakiness toasted croissants!!! Would definitely try their full menu since it seems these guys know what they are doing. This place is a gem. Across the street from the manhasset LIRR- I find myself stopping by here whenever I am going to take the train. Perfect for a quick coffee or a nice breakfast/lunch (I have yet to try it but the menu looks great). Super plus that they have duchess cookies!!! I have been going to For Five since they first opened their doors. I've never been a regular coffee drinker but for five changed that for me. I'm on a first name basis with each of their employees now because everyone is so friendly! I really love this spot. It has a very comforting ambiance, and it's very clean too. It's Greek owned I believe, but their menu is very eclectic. They have a lot of Asian dishes which I found very interesting! Their food is pricey, BUT the taste is worth it. I've had their duck ramen where the noodles themselves weren't actually ramen, but the duck was very tender and the broth was really flavorful, so they can call the dish whatever they want :) I also had their okonomiyaki and it was filling and tasted authentic to me. I'm not a coffee drinker (the wife is) so this review is really for what I got to eat and the overall experience. I generally hate coffee houses - I find them pretentious, overly hipster and just incredibly overpriced and unnecessary. That being said, I stopped in to For Five today to grab a quick bite and to let the wife get her morning coffee. This place is like many other coffee houses (modern clean decor, trendy music, great lighting) but at least in this location, its a bit different - super family friendly. Kids were all over enjoying breakfast and the staff was super nice and friendly. Their 24 hour oats are just really excellent for those who like oatmeal. It's sweet, fruity and well balanced with spices and creaminess. The other options were no schlub either as the wife enjoyed her breakfast sandwich (the Manhasset). A nice, hip cafe right across the Manhasset LIRR station. It never gets too noisy and I never had much of a problem studying or doing any type of work here. Decor and ambiance is very hipster and cool. Pretty cool vibe here honestly. Coffee here is pretty smooth, but has a bit of a sour aftertaste. Hot chocolate has a nutty finish to it which I really enjoyed, but I found the drink a little bit diluted for my liking. Cookies are phenomenal! You can't leave without getting a cookie here. They're almost on par with the ones from Levain in the city! A lot of their food items look really good. There's a lot displayed as soon as you walk into the store, but they also have breakfast and lunch items you can order. I believe breakfast is served all day. Would like to try them eventually. I got to try For Five for the first time today with one of my friends and boy oh boy can I rave about this place. Everything we had was insanely good. Absolutely loved the Churro pancakes and even if these pancakes had so churro cinnamon whatsoever, hands down, the BEST pancakes I've had in terms of how fluffy and flavorful they were. The bacon on the Avogadaise Eggs Benedict BLT was killer and the brioche it was served on was enough to bring home for leftovers with how thick it was. Not to mention, the Birria grilled cheese was out of this world. I definitely will be coming back for more because 10/10.
