I stopped by on a random Wednesday noonish. There was seating but the coffee shop for sure moves. I can see how this place gets real busy. I tried a honey latte that I forgot to take a picture of. Which was delicious and smooth. Service is kind and helpful with explaining their choices. There is WiFi. I'm not sure if it was the day that I went but I was told there wasn't a restroom. As a coffee addict and self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, I was really excited to try Sweet Harbor Coffee in Roslyn. I had heard so many great things and was willing to wait over 20 minutes in line because my expectations were that high. One thing I always look for in a coffee shop is house-made syrups, and I was happy to learn that they make most of theirs in-house. I ordered the salted caramel latte, which is usually my go-to drink. While it was a decent cup of coffee, I found it to be much more bitter than I expected. The quality wasn't bad by any means, but it definitely wasn't the standout cup of coffee I was hoping for. Would I wait 20+ minutes in line for it again? Probably not. Was it the best coffee I've ever had? Absolutely not. For me, it was mid at best. That said, the staff was incredibly friendly and working hard to keep up with the long line. They were pumping out drinks as quickly as possible and provided great customer service despite how busy it was. Overall: 7/10. Not terrible, not amazing--just okay. I'm glad I tried it, but I'm still on the hunt for my next great cup of coffee. read more

Unfortunately, my experience at Sweet Harbor Coffee was pretty disappointing, especially considering how expensive everything is. The shop is definitely overpriced for what you're getting, and when you're paying higher prices, you expect the service and overall experience to match. The ordering experience was extremely frustrating. The employee helping me barely seemed to understand English, which made it very difficult and time-consuming to place a simple order. I had to repeat myself multiple times, and it took forever just to get through the ordering process. I completely understand that language barriers can happen, but there should be a better system in place to make sure customers can communicate their orders without such a difficult experience. What made it even more frustrating was that I was told they didn't have iced coffee. I was then offered an Americano instead. I was confused because iced coffee is such a basic and common coffee order, but I figured maybe they were out for the day. However, another the other barista kindly later told me that they actually DID have iced coffee. So I'm not sure if the first employee simply didn't know what was available or if there was a communication issue, but either way, it was frustrating to be given incorrect information and then find out from another employee that the item was available. I also frequently see a bald barista working here, and unfortunately, he consistently comes across as very unfriendly and stoic. There's very little warmth or customer service whenever I've encountered him. I understand that everyone has bad days, but when you're working in a customer-facing position, being approachable and making customers feel welcome should be part of the job. The overall attitude just makes the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I really wanted to like this place, but between the high prices, the confusing communication, inconsistent information from employees, and lack of customer service, I don't feel like the experience is worth what they charge. For the prices they're asking, I expect better service, better communication, and a much more pleasant experience. There are plenty of other coffee shops where I can get a good drink without paying a premium and dealing with these kinds of issues. read more

I am a coffee snob and a lover of any kind of coffee venue. Sweet Harbor Coffee is the newest in the Roslyn Harbor area on Old Northern Boulevard, and it did not disappoint. By habit, I drink my daily coffee black. Sometimes I put stevia in it when dining out and ordering it with dessert or after my meal. I only put milk products in iced coffee or lattes/cappuccinos, and I usually prefer almond milk since I prefer a less sweet, more nutty aftertaste. But for my first go at Sweet Harbor, I asked the very attentive young person behind the counter what he would recommend. They had a salted caramel latte on special, so I tried that with almond milk. It was served hot, did not need a sweetener, and was not overly sweet nor salty. In essence, it was the best marriage of the salted caramel coffee concept I've had in a long time. Prices are comparable to what you'd pay in any coffee place, with Apple Pay being an option. They offer free wifi and have the password on display near checkout for your convenience. It is a small shop, with about 4-5 small tables. You can eCommute there, but I imagine it fills up fast. During nice weather, you can walk outside and visit the ducks in the pond across the way. There is a municipal lot directly across the street, as well as on-street metered parking. I cannot wait to go back and try something else, including their food menu. read more

My coffee was very good, i rarely purchase these types of beverages but we wanted to check out the new shop and the Maple maybe salted Latte, iced, sounded interesting. you can certainly tell that the syrups are made with a passion. My daughter had a similar one but she felt they may have forgotten to add the espresso as it was incredibly pale and did not seem to have a coffee taste. Few tables crowded by the waiting crowd, the staff was working hard to churn out the drinks to the masses that were waiting. The town has a culture as most do nowadays, of take out coffee/chai drinks and I can see them expanding in the future to accommodate the crowds. I do not think there was an upcharge for alt milks, at least it did not seem to be posted. I wish them continued success ! read more

They also have parking in the back for about $1.50 or street parking (both paid), so that's convenient. I decided to try the pistachio latte, and it just wasn't my favorite it tasted a bit water down. But honestly that might not be their most popular drink so I'd definitely be open to going back and trying one of their best sellers next time! read more

VIBE: This is a very cute and cozy little cafe. It's like Brooklyn/Queens meets long Island. We arrived around 12 noon on a Sunday and the place was packed. All seats were taken. I kind of feel like they should have a policy like other busy cafes I've seen where folks should not be able to sit for long periods with their laptops on weekends. There was 1 person with a laptop occupying a table for 2 when the line was going all the way from the counter in the back to the door up front. SERVICE: Even when the consistently long line, the wait wasn't super long. The guy who took our order was nice, making sure to ask if I wanted milk and what kind. The have simple syrup on the side to sweeten your iced drinks which I always think is just a level up from other places that don't have that available. DRINKS: My husband got an Americano. It was smooth to drink, the espresso not being burnt nor too watery. I was drawn to the cardamom rose chai latte and I got it with a shot of espresso. The cardamom was mild and pleasant. I can't say I tasted much of the rose flavor which folks who don't like floral notes probably prefer. The chai could have been a tad more spiced in my opinion...but there's also a chance they misunderstood and gave me a latte with the cardamom flavoring? Which I don't mind because I wanted the espresso for the caffeine. PASTRY: We got their salted chocolate chip cookie and it was delicious! Not only was it massive but it was soft and chewy with plenty of chocolate and nice toasty edges. I split it with my husband and honestly half was all I needed with my coffee! TLDR: Cozy cafe with delicious coffee and cookies. Limited selection baked goods so maybe don't go hungry. I was really pleased by the atmosphere of this coffee shop and the flavors of their coffee. We ordered the Maple Salt Lattes, one iced with almond milk and the other hot with whole milk - both were yummy but VERY sweet. Aside from the coffee itself and the welcoming staff, we were bummed this place didn't have a bathroom. Despite it being a sit down shop, the only bathroom nearby was at the deli across the street. We'd really love if there was a sign or some restroom within the vicinity to use if we are customers. Although alt milk is still all the hype, there was zero pricing on the menu if you chose the alt milk route. Since coffee expenses has risen, we love business transparency and being real with your customers if you will be paying 0.75 for alt milk, syrup, ice, etc!! read more

I really hope what I say will help the owners create a more efficient system. Having 6 workers squeezed behind that tiny barista space seems completely useless. The cashier kept turning her back and not taking orders which was just very bizarre as she just awkwardly stood there. Then another barista just hopped on the register as she stood there. Another worker was just waiting for the barista to finish drinks so she can then call out peoples names. Too many cooks in the kitchen with no efficient system. The place was also extremely messy. The cashier could have been cleaning up tables and fixing chairs when she was ignoring customers. There were no napkins and lids weren't restocked. The drink was fine, nothing much to say. The place is entirely too small but cute. I think the owners could really benefit from getting in consultants to help out the staff read more
