But best of all They Go above and beyond with their cleanliness and Precautions during the Pandemic. So here is how your trip goes You make an appointment When you arrive you wait outside They will clean the entire waiting area and door handles inside and out If there is a patient inside the exam area they will finish them up and escort them through the rear exit. 1 star because 0 is not an option.. Dr. Shin is an experienced business man, more than a ped. dentist. He does not genuinely care for his patients. He's not flexible about his treatment plan & will not entertain taking a less invasive approach. His methods are outdated. My child who used to love going to the dentist, was traumatized after her visit with him. Honestly, we both were. We had to find a new dentist & it wasn't that hard to find a Dr. that's patient & understanding of parental concerns (which Dr. Shin is not). It took a few visits with our new dentist, who worked with my child to reverse the damage that Dr. Shin has caused. There are so many better dentists out there. I highly recommend staying away from this one. I'm not one to write negative reviews. This is my first and most likely my last. But thought it was only fair to let other families know before visiting this clinic. read more

I brought my son here for a 2nd opinion on some dental work and I'm so glad I did. The lobby is definately FOR kids, there are toys laying around and my toddler immediately felt at home and at ease. There are computer/video game type terminals for older kids with headphones and a TV. Dr Shin was great, he put my son at ease, got on the ground at his level and did his initial exam that way. I really liked that he let my toddler take the lead and set the tone before resorting to physical restraint. They hygenist area is an open area which initially I was unsure about, but in hindsight, I think it makes it feel more comfortable and casual. Less scary for the kiddos. There is a cute little recovery room for post oral surgery patients. All in all, the place was really comfortable and friendly and the dentists and staff all put us at ease. On top of which, the fees were half that of some of the other places I'd been with my kids. read more

This dental office has some really good people working here. . The doctor here is very nice, and explains things very well. The best part for me is the staff that works at the front. Zaira and Cindy are both very sweet and helpful over the phone. they were very helpful in attempting to resolve insurance problems and always handle my phone calls in a very polite and helpful manner. the dentist did the job very welll. i also compared the prices at 3 different dentist and this place had the most reasonable prices. read more

This is my childrens dental office, and they love the atmosphere, they don't even realize that they're at a dentist office, (my kids are 2 and 3 yrs old) and that is a huge plus for me, it saves me allot stress. I wish I could give this dental office a 5 star rating but the only reason I can't is because their employees could use some work on being a little friendlier, from the Dr. To his front desk assistants. I took my 6 year daughter for regular checkup, on every 6 month visit they told me that my daughter has cavity, in one year they remove three cavities but on 4th time when they advice me that my daughter had it again i thought to go for 2nd opinion and i went to an other kids dentist who informed me that my daughter has no cavities. Wow! This place is awesome! My three kids felt comfortable coming in here. When they walked in here they had Despicable Me 2 playing (which my kids love!). There is also three video game screens that the patients can choose to play. The staff are very friendly and also display an incredible amount of patience. I work in an ER and know that having kids be patients in a healthcare setting can be stressful for everyone. Once my kids were finished with their x-rays, they got their teeth cleaned. Right above the dentist chair, there is a tv screen directly above so your kid can focus on the movie playing instead of the dentist poking around in their mouth. They let the kids choose what flavor they want to get their teeth cleaned with. Dr. Shin is very patient, gentle and kind with my kids. When my son needed to have two, yes, two baby root canals, he did them and before the procedure, explained what to expect and the anasthesia options. I love coming here for my kids and the best part is when they get to choose their toys at the end of the visit! Bonus- free toothpaste, toothbrush, and little floss in a carrying case. Just took my 6 and 2 year old here yesterday and I just wanted to say that this place is really great with kids. My 6 year old was terrified (she had a traumatic experience with our last pediatric dentist) but the dentist walked her through the whole process and was so kind and patient with her. She even asked me later that day if she could go back!! That question itself should speak volumes about this place. The front desk was also really friendly and sweet. Big plus for me because I have run into a number of rude unhappy receptionist who have made me avoid those offices altogether. My 2 year old also loved her visit to this dentist because of all the toys she was able to play with. Her teeth cleaning was quick and easy, probably due to the fact that she doesn't have that much teeth lol. They give the kids a toothbrush, toothpaste, timer, and they even allow the kids to pick a toy, which I'm sure is the reason why my 6 year old wants to go back lol read more

I love this dentist! It is definitely the best place to bring your little ones for any routine check up or extra crazy work that needs to be done. The staff is nice and the environment is welcoming. Tons of cute trinkets and toys for the kids. Bribery at its finest! They take most insurance and offer several means of sedation for kids that are truly terrified. This is my first review ever with Yelp but I felt compelled to write this as I hope this helps other parents. My daughter is almost 5 years old and this was the first time she has ever had an actual dental exam. I was referred to this office by a mother from our preschool. Cindy the front office receptionist was nice enough but never acknowledged my daughter (hello!!! this is supposed to be a kid friendly office and I would think the people that work there at least associate and would get to know the kids). The young man Ronhil (don't know if that's the correct spelling) took her in first and took X-rays. He was the nicest and most sincere compared to all others including Dr. Shin. Rosy cleaned her teeth and didn't even take the time to explain anything until my daughter said she was scared and then she started showing her things. She wasn't sincere nor did she even smile. After a second try at X-rays (by the way parents, if X-rays are the first thing they do on a first time visit, be very cautious as they are supposed to build some trust and rapport in the beginning - duh!) Dr. Shin says she has cavities and immediately goes into talking about "extra care" oral conscious sedation and said it would be as if she was "drunk". Who says that??? He didn't give me any other alternative to this option, as now I know there are at least 3. Dr. Shin at least showed me the X-ray of cavity but also said the X-ray pic wasn't the most "optimal". I really didn't even know what I was looking at. I end the visit with Cindy telling me that there is also another alternative to oral conscious sedation and that is IV which she will be fully asleep. I was already very uncomfortable with the "drunk" type of sedation and now this! They also asked for a $100 deposit for the next appointment in order to fill the cavities. Never would I go back again as overall, I could tell the office is about achieving a high quantity of patients even if sincerity, patience and just doing a good job is lacking. read more

This dentist doesn't care about children. Only making money. All I heard were children screaming and crying the whole time we were there. He told me my 8 year old needed a baby root canal and crown. I had a bad feeling about that place. I took her to get a second opinion. Turns out it was just a small cavity that was easily filled. The new dentist told me the root canal and crown were very unnecessary. It's sad that he is doing unnecessary procedures on children. Stay clear of this place and tell your friends. read more

Finally a dentist that understands. Went through 2-3 dentists to find the right one. I am in Long Beach and first took my kids to Dr. Stella knowing they had dental issues AND issues with sitting in the chair and having anxiety. They tried the nitrous oxide on him and it didn't work so they wanted to do sedation (put him to sleep). They didn't charge me for the nitrous oxide the second time around but it was just too expensive for me to continue going there. My son loved it though because it looked so cool. We tried Dr. Worden and had the same issues. We finally went to For Kids and we just love it. The office is extremely child friendly..it's like a mini Disneyland dental office, the staff are so friendly and patient, and Dr. Shin gives you options. Having to sedate your child sucks but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and they offered oral sedation. And they take MetLife Dental. read more

The dentist didn't care if my baby is crying or not feeling well. But rudely and roughly forced him down and opened his mouth. And not considering the feeling of the kid but wrapped his lip around to show how he can prevent biting while I really wished him to stop because the baby is really feeling bad. Apparently, he stuck his hand way too inside, and the baby chocked and vomited, A LOT. Then the baby cried for a whole longer time bc it's really a terrifying experience for him. Then the doctor said, that we shouldn't feed the baby before we come in. Omg, this is a dentist checkup, not a blood draw? And if he doesn't vomit, he can still gag with such a violent checkup. And as long as he doesn't vomit things out, it's ok to be treated rudely like this? The dentist want's even looking at the baby or care about his well being. Treating the kid by force only. I really detest that. He didn't care about the kid's feeling at all just want to get the job done. Jeez, you are dealing with a baby, not appliance that you can just open and fix. I had a wonderful experience here with my daughter. The guy who takes x rays was absolutely wonderful and kept my daughter calm. she usually cries when getting them done. the actual dr himself was awesome. explained everything to me about what needed to be done and showed me as well. definitely will be keeping him as out dentist from here on out. read more

All I can say about this disgusting unethical establishment is that they tried to take advantage of my sons disability and charge me an extra $100. They stated that nor mom or dad can be in the room while my son would be getting work done on his teeth and being held down by their employees. To make it easier for them they wanted to sedate my son for some simple x-rays instead of being patient, kind, and working with him. They don't even deserve one star.
