I was a little bummed when Green Kitchen left the market as it was one of my favorite salad and sandwich stop, but Forage kitchen is a fine replacement. Friendly staff, good portions, decent prices. You can get it to go or enjoy at a table in or outside the market!

A good but odd experience. I ordered a build-your-own bowl (love that they have that option) and for my bases I selected greens and cauliflower rice. When I got my order, there was no cauliflower rice but they included a (very) generous side of black rice so I think it was a courtesy? There was also a cookie in my bag - not sure if it was a mistake or a preemptive fix for the cauliflower rice thing but I certainly can't complain about getting something for free. As for the bowl itself, I was pretty impressed. I thought everything was seasoned well and it was a pretty decent portion although there could have been a little more chicken. The spot itself (having now been to the market) is cute and seems clean enough. Overall I'm a fan! Would definitely order again.

I love this new addition to the Public Market! It's a chipotle style, pick your toppings kind of spot, with healthy but delicious food. The power bowl is great for hitting macros and just feeling good about what you're eating. I like to add chicken to it for more protein. I feel like the chicken Caesar wrap is the most bang for your buck- it is LOADED! Also delicious. I was not a fan of tepache (fermented pineapple I believe?) but I LOVE their kombucha. Staff is always helpful in picking out what's best for you and I love all the sauces. The market is always a good spot to sit and catch up with friends, and here is some good food to enjoy while doing it!

first time trying Forage Kitchen - so clean and healthy and a lot of signage of all the ingredients and where it comes from which I always love with a restaurant! Perfect - quick, stop for a healthy lunch. They also have an app where you can order pickup / to go.

The chicken in my salad was spicy, and I did not ask for spicy. Was hard for me to eat and ended up removing it to be able to eat the rest of the salad. Also, they send you a literally half of a slice of bread with no butter or anything. Definitely not worth the $13.50 I paid for a small salad that the chicken had to be removed in order for me to eat it. Luckily there was very little chicken to remove.

Fucking love this place…read more If there is a highly rated small plates place in a location we are visiting, you can count on us to find it. We walked literally thirty minutes to this place from our hotel. It was a lovely walk in early August. We had a 5:45pm reservation on a Thursday (we are old now) and we were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Ok so they have a fantastic cocktail menu. I appreciate any cocktail menu that is more complex than vodka and cranberry juice but this takes it to another level of creativity. I also like how they name them with numbers. It's so much easier to say "I'll have a 42" rather than "I will have a duperbeamerscicle". I started with an "88" with pisco, rose-poached strawberry, amontillado sherry, verjus, rose port, and pink peppercorn. Served in a highball glass and garnished with berries. Very refreshing. GF started with the "91" mezcal, passion fruit, poblano, pineapple, amaro, lime. Gorgeous and chic. Very strong, smoky flavor. When in Rome, so the cheese plate did not feel like an option. Four fantastic cheeses were served with very tasty candied nuts, some jam business, grapes, and some of the best bread I have had on a cheese plate. Thick, soft, and fluffy. Paired absolutely perfectly with cheese. Only complaint is that I wish there was more of it. I haven't had deviled eggs in a minute so I went wild and also had the chili crisp deviled eggs which were SPECTACULAR. I also got the Egyptian fried cauliflower which is served on a smear of harissa and lemon tahini. Very flavorful. Star of the show tbh was the tagliatelle with squash, tomato, these fried cheese crisps. The noodles were al dente and SO GOOD in such a wonderful sauce. GF also got the steak, she says "very good seasoning". I helped her out with the kimchi pancake. Wonderful. Such a great sauce. For our second round of dranks we both went with the "77" makrut lime vodka, tamarind, bird's eye chili, cilantro, lime, lemongrass. Very tamarind forward. Very unique. I can see why it's our server's favorite drink on the menu. The desserts looked really good (something with sticky rice I think it was a cocktail and a bread budding that looked fantastic) but we just weren't feeling it.

Our bartender was incredibly friendly, charismatic, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He took the time to explain dishes, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Every dish we ordered was outstanding. The deviled eggs were easily our favorite and are an absolute must-order. We also loved the flatbread with fiddleheads, which featured a delicious curry-inspired flavor that reminded us of an Indian dish. My husband couldn't stop talking about the bread pudding and said it was one of the best desserts he's had. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. If we lived in Milwaukee, Odd Duck would absolutely become one of our regular spots. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in town.

It's rare to find a place where both me and my son can eat from the same menu, especially since he's a picky eater, but he finished his entire plate. Friendly vegan spot (5/5 Green Stars) If you're visiting…read moreMilwaukee then a visit to E Brady St. is probably worth your while - a few interesting spots here, including Twisted Plants. I wanted to support my vegan brothers and sisters and, having being on the road (actually on Amtrak, so rails, really) for a while, I was craving some protein. Following the advice of the friendly staff members, I opted for an order of "Drummies" (Dazed & Confused) to maximize my protein intake. I ended up eating it in the restaurant and thought the vegan drumsticks were delicious with the two homemade sauces provided (ranch and chili). This dish is pricier than most of the others ($15, compared to a more reasonable $4 for fries or $10 for vegan mozzarella sticks) but memorable. The place could do with a few tweaks in terms of décor/atmosphere but the friendly staff helped make it a nice experience. I'm also rating the Twisted Plants 4.5 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Everything on the menu - savory food and pastries - is vegan. * Most of the food packaging is compostable. * Staff members are happy to tell you what's in your food. The drummies that I ordered are from Lily's Vegan Pantry - made in Taiwan from soy and seasoning (no palm oil). * Cookies are from local vegan entrepreneur, Bunny's Bite. * It fills a useful niche of craveable vegan (elevated) fast food. Next time I want to try the Crispy Chik'n Salad (made with organic greens) as it's one of those dishes I never tried before I went veggie.

We decided to share the fromage grilled cheese with the offered addition of "tofu ham". For dranks I ordered a matcha latte, GF ordered a mimosa that had turmeric and was a very interesting twist from the standard, run on the mill mimosa. The sandwich came out eventually. Very cheesy. The tofu ham is THICCCC. The sandwich is more cozy and comfortable than hearty. GF says "I thought it was good" when asked for more details, she says "not right now, my brain is tired". Very solid lunch spot and I can't get enough of the fact that it is vegetarian.
