Ok, so my caveat here is o have never eaten at the actual restaurant, however we order from Santorini at least once a week for delivery. All of the food is very tasty - their Greek salad is craveable. The tomatoes are super juicy and cucumbers are peeled completely, add the grilled chicken and it comes with some warm & fluffy pita bread. The Greek potatoes are also super tasty as a side if you want to skip the fries. Positions are large and we have yet to find anything in the menu we wouldn't order again. This is like the 8th time I've come here, ordered the same thing and forgotten to take photos. I love their veggie gyro! It comes with fries and is packed with grilled zucchini, mushrooms, and feta all tucked into warm pita bread spread with delicious hummus! Today I ordered for a work lunch and my coworkers got the traditional gyro plates. I was a little dismayed at first when I was the price...almost $19 each! This is your best dinner choice in the Mequon Public Market, which is a wonderful place to enjoy a drink or coffee with friends. Some evenings there's live music and sometimes that's real jazz. The Santorini Grill has some shortcomings, the service was adequate but the Moussaka and Spanakopita were mediocre. The prices also seemed a little high. You don't really want to eat right in the restaurant part, instead take your meal upstairs to enjoy the music (when there are live performances) or if the weather is nice, dine al fresco. Everything will be better that way, especially if you next get some dessert at Purple Door. read more

We stopped by on a late weekend evening after a hike outdoors. We love Greek food and had never tried this restaurant. We ordered our food in the Mequon Public Market location. Staff were helpful and friendly. In the restaurant itself, there was not much seating inside, but the weather outside was great so we opted to take our food outdoors. Service was pretty fast. We ordered Gyro platters (one with fries, one with rice and potatoes), Greek Souvlaki Chicken, Beet salad with salmon, and one order of two sides: Greek pita with grilled vegetables (a small vegetarian meal but was enough). We brought our food to the large outdoor fire pit and sat around the fire, which was the perfect ambiance and a pleasant evening. It was past 7pm, so other customers were eating ice cream and not many people. The food was pretty good, and the pita bread was really tasty; we really liked it. The gyro meat, however, was a little salty. The side Greek salad (for the gyro platter) was good, but not much lettuce. Potato and rice were fair. The large hunk of feta cheese included with the gyro entree was good and so was the salmon beet salad according to the person who ordered it. They gave us only one little container with ketchup though 3 orders had fries on the side, which we thought was a little oversight (what if we had taken our food to a park and couldn't have walked back indoors to ask for more?) The quantity was generous; prices are ok-the entrees cost more than the sandwiches. I had leftovers for the next day. Next time, I'll try the beet salad with salmon since that looked appetizing. It's a place worth checking out and I'd try it again. read more

I had visited the Mequon Public Market once before and ate at Screaming Tuna, but this spot caught my eye on that visit over 2 years ago. I don't get to the Mequon area often, if at all, but on this day, I made a trip to stop at three businesses I've been wanting to try, and Santorini grill was one of them. Yes, I wanted to try their gyro, but I also really wanted to see what they could do in that kitchen, so I ordered the Filet Mignon Souvlaki and the Grilled Octopus. You guys, my world was ROCKED! The steak was so incredibly tender, cooked a perfect medium temp, and seasoned to make my taste buds crave more after after every bite! The same is true for the octopus, which can be tough and chewy if not prepped and cooked properly. It was also very tender and seasoned beautifully! It was probably the best I've eaten, and I long for it. I want it again, so bad. I wish I lived closer, although that could be a bad thing, too. :) I definitely want to go back and try their gyro. I HAVE to. Plus, I can order the grilled octopus again, too! If you like food that tastes awesome, then you should eat here! read more

I found my new favorite gyro! Everything was perfect on this geek delight. Usually (at least for me) a good gyro comes down to the cucumber sauce. Today I found out that the meat can be the best part of the sandwich. I'm can't tell you why, but the meat was so good it could have been served without the sauce, pita or onions. Yum! Not to knock the sauce! It was great too! So were the fresh tomatoes. Unfortunately, I think they ruined me for going to the gyro shops around the Milwaukee area. It worth the 3 mile drive off the highway.... plus you can get mini donuts or purple door ice cream in the same building when your done! read more

It tucked away in the rear-ish corner of the Mequon Public Market and has a small area to sit and eat, but theres plenty of additional seating on the 2nd floor and on the exterior of the market. It pains me to say this, but due to the lack of response, care and respect that I received after getting food poisoning from the grilled octopus, I cannot recommend Santorini grill. I was sick all throughout the night and into the morning. I notified them before they opened the next day. Said the octopus was a lot chewier than normal and one bite tasted off. Response was more or less, "thanks, we'll talk to the staff and investigate." No apology and never heard back. I wrote back a few days later for a follow up, but that message was ignored. Extremely disappointed to write this because we have always enjoyed their food and would regularly order carry out at least twice a month. After a long week, which should have been a short holiday week, Friday night brought the inevitable question, "Where should we go?" with the usual "I don't know" response. In a case like that, a place like the Mequon Public Market offers a solution, to be able to walk around so everyone can pick and choose what they want to eat, and we can meet in a common location. I opted to try the Santorini Grill, it's been a while since I had any good Greek food and this seemed like a perfect spot. The menu is limited, offering the best and most popular Greek dishes. Looking around the limited seating area, it became obvious that Santorini Grill's entries are of generous portions, more than I can consume, so I opted for the sides menu. I chose the Avgolemono (lemon and rice soup) and Greek oven potatoes. I was surprised that The Kat Lady also decided on Santorini Grill and she noticed the same thing about the generous portions on the dinner servings. She went to the appetizer menu and ordered Spanakopita. We ordered "To Go" so we could go outside to enjoy our dinners. During the wait, we took a walk down the corridor to discuss what to drink with our meal. The Kat Lady went to pick out beverages while I walked back to Santorini Grill for a brief wait. It wasn't a long wait, either, and considering the line at the counter and the generally large crowd in the market that evening, the wait was surprisingly short. Outdoors, we settled in for dinner. My soup was too hot for my wussy taste buds, so I attacked the Greek oven potatoes. Swimming in just the right amount of olive oil and seasoned with Greek spices, the potatoes were delightful! The Kat Lady reported her Spanakopita was delicious, and it looked that way to me. (I plan to try it next time!) When the soup cooled slightly, the multiple flavors just exploded on my tongue. So great to have found a replacement for long time fav Greek restaurant Apollo after moving from the east side to the northern 'burbs. I got the beef souvlaki and it was excellent. Meat was perfectly tender, pita was warm and veggies were fresh. Served with a generous portion of fries as well. Nice concept, good menu, but food does not meet expectations. Chicken is dry and poorly seasoned. Potatoes are bland and soaking in some sort of liquid that results in a limp, mushy texture. Rice is nothing special. Pita is miniature. Greek salad has many problems: there's lettuce in it, no bell pepper, scant amount of oregano, and most problematic, it's watery due to cucumber and tomato not being seeded.
