So that's a smart move. The hockey and ice-skating area are still there. Good crowd is always present there.

This is a smaller gallery located in an older house. There are several display cases full of plates, vases, and other standard porcelain items. There are some unique ones with the octopus and this flower sculpture from porcelain which I really liked. There is a section where you can see an old kiln and the process of painting porcelain plates too. The curator was friendly and nice to talk to as well. If I recall they do have some classes and teachers that come by and some new kilns in the back room. If you love to learn about older art forms check this place out.

Its super great to take children but just be careful because it is really dark so you will need to watch out! There is a lazy river for the twenty somethings looking to hookup. The venue is outdoor, though I think there are some upper indoor boxes. Come prepared for the weather and bring sunglasses. Parking is super easy and on site. $15 per vehicle. My only complaint- $5 for a bottle of water in the Texas heat seems really unfair.

Yes, the parking situation was crappy but Melissa is a developing town and the infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, parking lots, etc.) is also being built out at the moment. But there were plenty of neighboring lots that allowed anyone not arriving right at opening (8 am) to find parking! Small walk over to the Walmart lot where the event was so no big deal. The weather really showed up and was overcast with a breeze so the heat didn't feel quite as glaring as it could've! There were special edition hot wheels toy cars for sale, with a purchase of Mobil 1 oil. There was also a gazebo with hot wheels toys set up for the little ones to enjoy. Arizona tea was one of the vendors there. Plenty of photo ops for former hot wheels cars, an F1 car or two, and local cars that were signed up to show. Highly recommend for car enthusiasts, families looking for a morning activity to occupy the kids up until lunch, and anyone with dogs because we brought our pup! They didn't have bathrooms but the Walmart is fairly new still and they have actual bathrooms (way better than if port-a-potties were rented IMO. The event is free to enter and stroll around, so definitely worth the drive up from Dallas or anywhere in the DFW area really.
