Some of the must flavorful fried chicken I've ever had. 10/10. The sides were pretty good too. Mac and cheese was so-so but as expected when making it in large batches. Dressing was tasteful and wet. I got the meatloaf, the rutabagas, and the mustard greens. There are not a lot of places that I can get laced cornbread so historically I always go for that. However, this time I looked at the rolls and thought, I bet that is good. It was my favorite part. I was trying to be a little healthier which is why I skipped on the mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak. Those are probably my preference and make up my previous 5 star review. The ambiance in Fordhams is 5 stars mainly BECAUSE the service is so darn great. The ladies here take care of you like nothing else. I feel right at home and taken care of. I've heard that sometimes Fordhams is up b down on quality but I've only had tasty food here. Granted they may run out of some vegetable etc at end of day but always tasty. Service is always helpful friendly and kind. Always a getting with smiles. Servers are always spectacular. Ambiance is farm and country eating as it should be. Tables for four or head to the back and find ability to fit groups. Ample parking (one-of my pet peeves) and restroom space. read more

My wife and I took our daughter visiting from out if town to get her some good southern cooking and the Farmhouse did not dissapoint. We started off with the Mac-N-Cheese Nuggets for an appetizer. This was my first visit to Fordham's. The restaurant was clean & well maintained, including bathrooms. The staff was friendly & attentive to our needs! The food however ranged from so-so good to inedible! One item, a squash casserole was so briny as to be inedible! Very disappointing to say the least! I dont say that I wouldn't give this restaurant another chance, but as of now I cannot recommend it! Gorgeous hardwood floors, walls of windows, this strip center has been transformed in a most advantageous way. No bar... good for church or civic groups. Bigger room is at one end, cafeteria service in the middle and tables/ booths at other end. Even a single seat bar facing the outside and a picnic area out one end. Good stop for us as we travel. This afternoon was the first time I've eaten here since the pandemic. I had grilled pork chops, turnips and butter beans with the cornbread and sweet tea. Everything aside from the sweet tea was horrendous. Were the pork chops cooked yesterday? I ate half of a pork chop. Canned greens were bland. And the butter beans were actually some sort of crowder bean I think. The cornbread cakes were old. The sweet tea was good. This place was never stellar...but it was generally decent food. Thursday is onion casserole day and I love it. I had the veggie plate with sweet potato casserole, stewed tomatoes and rice, and a biscuit. The stewed tomatoes were vine ripen and naturally sweet the sweet potatoes had a creamy consistency with raisins and baked marshmallows on top, yum. It was a delightful meal. Y'all know I am too impatient to take pics before I eat, so I will try to so better about that in the future. read more

We have had some really good meals here. Lots of room for parties of all sizes, and the food is delicious. The pork chops are exceptional.

I get drug into this cafeteria style establishment when we can't do any better. The food is greasy, salty and runny. The pork chops are breaded to hide large bone and small cuts of meat. The Mac-n-cheese is over salted and runny. The chicken was pretty good, not rubbery or raw. Fish are usually pretty good. Sweet tea is good. The servers (except for one black lady)dipping the food treat you like they are serving SOS in the military or prison. The ladies waiting on tables are just the opposite. They check on you frequently, keep your tea filled, and take away dirty dishes immediately. The tip jar is located by cash register where you pay before you sit down to eat. I always leave the tip on table so at least the dining room ladies know I appreciate their efforts. The others ride on their shirttails. Recently when 3 of us eat there, I asked for two chicken breasts. I was told there would be an up charge on my plate in the most hateful tone. Like I insulted her. She yelled down the line and the cashier up charged not only my plate but all 3 plates. This place is riding high with little competition but changes are on the way! read more

College town and no students? Well it is just 8AM on a Saturday morning. Place is jammed with locals talking Medicaid and politics and yard sales. Quick service and before our food was served we had drink refills and folks checking on us. Exceptional service. FOOD=GOOD! Loaded omelet was truly full of lots of meat. Crispy hash browns were delicious! Second time here and who comes early to Fordhams? Country guys in trucks. You know it's going be good. Lots of delicious food, great sevice and reasonable. This was my first time here and all the talk I have heard I was really looking forward to our lunch here. Boy was this a let down!!! I had the Country Fried Steak and White Gravy, Sweat Peas, Mac and Cheese, Roll and Unsweetened Tea. The only part of my meal that was good the Tea and Roll. The Country Fried Steak was some find of processed meat they was calling a steak. It was awful is the best I can say about it. The peas was ok, Mac an Cheese needed a lot of help. I sure was disappointed with this place as lots of people said it was really good. Here for breakfast. Nice and polite staff. Water cup was dirty which now makes me question my coffee cup since I can't see into it like I can the water. Had the loaded omelet. It was ok. Very little cheese but a good amount of meat. Came with grits that were nothing "over the top" and grits can be! Also, two slices of toast all for $7.45 and $.99 for the coffee. Don't think I'll be running back here as it was just an ok breakfast in my opinion. Maybe lunch is better. I'll give that a try before I turn it off completely. read more

Good tasting food, served quickly. Rotating menu so there is something different each day. The roast beef(served Monday) is delicious, tender with just the right flavor gravy. Thursday is sweet potato casserole. They alternate the good topping(crunchy) with the boring topping (marshmallow) each week. Either is good but we all have our favorites!! Fried chicken is served EVERYDAY (as it should be) and is consistently good and flavorful. So if your tired of eating at the big food chains and you want something a little closer to homemade give them a shot. read more

Probably one of the best buffets in statesboro. It's relatively quiet because most college age students don't know about this place. It's your typical meat and 3 type of place, but the service and quality of the food is what sets it apart from the rest. I have yet to have something I don't like, but their fried chicken is by far the best. The wait staff will walk your meal to your table and frequently check in on you to see if you need any more of their great sweet tea or if you need anything else. Only complaint is the line gets backed up on Sunday's after church, but that's the sign of a good restaurant. read more

The staff are friendly, but the food seems to be either bland overly salted food or bland, flavorless food. I've been hers twice now, the first time was about 6 years ago. Today for lunch I had the country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese and a biscuit. The service was excellent, atmosphere was good. The place was nice, cool and was clean. The food was not good. The steak was ok, the Mac n cheese lacked cheese and the cheese it did have was peppered WAY to much. The mashed potatoes were ok but the gravy on top was very strong. The biscuit was ok but cold.
