Even after telling the girl that answered the phone what kind of insurance I had she had to place me on hold several times to talk with the office manager. She came back on the line and told me they don't accept my insurance. So I called my provider. Sure enough this office is in my network. So my provider called them and conferenced me in after explaining to the new person that answered the phone that they did accept my insurance. Then they tried to say that the Dr. Goodman wasn't accepting new patients. That was a lie because a) He was the doctor at the event trying to get new business and b) the first girl I spoke to said he was booked until the middle of October but he was available after that.

The office is conveniently located in East Cobb and easy to find. Parking is also accessible. I was greeted promptly and taken care of as soon as I arrived. I had a bit of a wait but once I was taken to the room I saw why. Dr. Louis offers TOP TIER service! She takes her time, listens, provides detailed information and answers ALL questions! I felt so well taken care of and am hopeful that the recommendations will resolve my issues. I was surprised to pay almost $200 for a "diagnosis" visit (vs preventative) for my screening - I got this explanation from their Billing dept. Then I tried calling the office to recommend they mention to patients they don't code as preventative screening so patients aren't surprised at their bill - I left a message and no one ever called me back :( Other that that, I've been happy with them. What started out as a good experience with this business has now turned into one that has left a…read morebad taste in my mouth! I had a follow up visit from the prior year after being diagnosed with alopecia and given products for my condition. The PA and I discussed refilling the prescription for the scalp serum Oxopidaxiaqup but I hadn't planned on purchasing it since I still had half a bottle at home. However, my intentions for this appointment was to purchase the growth serum since I was definitely out. Upon check out I told the front desk person Linda that I wanted the growth serum and thought that's what I paid for and was getting. I asked her to make sure "that's the growth serum right?" And she confirmed that it was. I did not check it there or once I got home because why would I if I asked you twice? However, I used the serum once before my vacation thinking that it was the growth serum. When I cam back from vacation and removed the sew in, I wanted to start back using what I thought was the growth serum, but when I really looked at the bottle, I said hmm this looks different. I then called and spoke with the person at the front Linda I think and explained the situation. She informed me that I was given the scalp serum and that they could not return the serum because of the time passed and because it was used. Ok got it but if you would have given me what I asked for then there would've been no need to return it. She then goes on about how the PA put in the order for me to fill the scalp serum which was irrelevant since I had no intentions of purchasing the scalp serum and was emphatically clear about purchasing the growth serum. I even offered to buy the growth serum and we could split the cost especially since it was Socah Center's fault for giving me what they wanted me to have instead of what I asked for. She would not budge so I ask to speak with Lisa and explained everything again. Lisa even said that the person at the front needs to be trained to verify what's being purchased. She said that she would speak with someone else and call me back the next day but didn't. A week passed so I called and ended up speaking with Walter Dennis. He listened and was on board with a resolution even saying that they would just send me the serum at no cost and he would call me the next day to confirm. Well the next day came and went and so has 4 weeks. Every time I call, I get routed to his voicemail. This is ridiculous and I'm very upset at how this company conducts it's business. Sometimes you do things out of good will because it's the right thing to do. But to not even follow up or even stick to your word is appalling and speaks volumes to your level of integrity! Yes, I can purchase the growth serum no problem, but it's the principle and the fact that the person at the front messed up at my expense.

I cannot express how frustrated I am with the care I received from Dr. Abbott…read more Back in November, I visited her because I had a lesion on my lip. Without obtaining a proper skin culture or ordering blood work, she diagnosed it as a cold sore. What followed were eight months of frustration, recurring outbreaks, and treatments that simply did not work. I was prescribed a daily low dose of Valtrex, higher doses when symptoms began, and expensive Acyclovir cream. None of these treatments were effective. Since November, I experienced 7-8 recurrences, each lasting about a week before resolving. Few weeks ago, the condition became particularly severe, and I was so frustrated that I scheduled an appointment with my new PCP in Dallas, TX, requesting that every reasonable test be performed. My new PCP--who, incidentally, is an NP-BC rather than a physician--looked at the lesion for only a few seconds and commented that it did not appear to be a cold sore at all. Instead, it appeared to be a localized bacterial infection. The test results confirmed this assessment. My HSV-1 and HSV-2 DNA tests were negative, and my HSV-1 and HSV-2 IgG tests were non-reactive. A simple course of cephalexin 500 mg, taken four times daily for 10 days, resolved the problem. What concerns me most is Dr. Abbott's confidence in diagnosing and treating the condition without sufficient diagnostic evidence. As a result, I spent the past eight months dealing with recurring symptoms, ineffective treatment, unnecessary medication, and significant frustration. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend seeking a second opinion and avoiding Dr. Abbott. Milan R.

Small, comfortable lobby, friendly, polite front desk staff and free WiFi. My PA is nice enough and the visits are normally quick. My real concern is they don't have video visits and communication is lacking. When there is an issue (and there have been plenty), you call and speak to a customer service agent who re-routes your message to the office. Then someone who is not your provider will communicate via message portal which leads to unnecessary time and expense. Specifically, I was told to stop taking my prescription after I felt better. Then my symptoms resumed. There's one phone number for all locations, you can't call directly. I called, the agent called the office and a different person (not my provider) sent me a message via the phone portal. That person gave me a refill which I filled ($25) but I had questions so I was told to come in. $50 co-pay and time off work later, I was given a completely different prescription. Unfortunately, it was for 30 days ($10) instead of 90 days ($25) which required more trips to the pharmacy and added expense. I'd have saved $75 with Kaiser with a free follow up video visit with my dermatologist. Speaking directly to a provider = questions answered and the correct prescription the first time. Kaiser also had 90 day refills sent via free mail order. At Dermatology Affiliates they don't have video visits (they blame insurance) and you can't speak directly to your provider. It's like a game of telephone which results in multiple contacts, time off work and unnecessary expense. Also, they don't have a numbing agent for painful injections. They give you a small ice pack which doesn't do the job. In short, free parking and WiFi and decent service is fine. But if I had the time to find a dermatologist with free video visits, good communication and positive reviews, I'd happily switch. Dermatology Affiliates really makes me miss Kaiser.

However, recently I learned Dermatology Consultants doesn't bill for preventative anymore. In the past annual melanoma skin exams were billed as preventative and $0 through insurance. This change alone doesn't warrant a bad rating - but the reason I am rating 4 stars instead of 5 stars is some of the staff still will still tell you that most insurance will bill $0 for one annual melanoma skin exam. Will be trying someplace else for preventative work - but still a fan of Dermatology Consultants. [Original Review] Scheduled a preventative 'Full Body Exam' of melanoma in April 2026, but was submitted to insurance as a typical office appointment 'Office O/p Est 30 Min'.
