The service and availability of currency is very good. However, I'm giving this three stars because the location is inconvenient. Downtown is extremely hard to navigate, and I spent more time than I needed to get parking. So while the fee for exchanging money was minimal at $1 (totally awesome), my parking fee cost me $6. When I travel and want to change currency before I go, or change back when I return I come here. You can call ahead to ask if they have a certain currency/have them order some for you. Check early to see how much time that takes. Shop around to get an idea of what exchange rates are around. Banks are TERRIBLE places to change money. I've always had a pleasant experience selling or buying at a rate I was happy with. They will even tell me when it's better to just exchange in the other country etc. There is parking, and they validate part of the parking rate. However I just park down the street and then walk. When you come in from Fig though, there is a curious elevator that is off the street. It looks weird, but that's how you get in. read more

In the past I've called around to find the best rate, and this place is it. You'll get a better rate here than any other currency exchange place, bank or even in the country you're traveling to. Tips: Call ahead make sure they have what you need and make sure you find the right parking lot. Parking expensive since it's DTLA, but you'll be in and out in 5 minutes. Had no problems getting to the office (thanks to everyone for the tips). I called ahead to make sure that the funds would be available as I didn't expect Icelandic Kronur to be a popular exchange item. And though they weren't available that day, Michelle was able to make sure that she had the appropriate amount for the following day. She even gave me a call when the funds arrived and I made the transaction with no problems. She'll sell you validation for $2 which will save you $1.50 off the garage's rate if you're there less than 12 minutes (I offered to pay in Kronur, but she laughed me off). To save yourself a little time: go to the information desk in the main lobby and you'll be within visual range of the office. I spent a little time fruitlessly following signs through some back corridors, though I still made it out of the garage with the 12 minutes. read more

Enjoyed the ease of exchange for my daughter studying abroad in Chile. We learned some things: *Call in advance to order what you need and they will call you when ready...which is pretty fast. *Park in the World Trade Center building and take your parking ticket stub with you to have it validated when you pick up your currency...It will cost $2-3.00 which is much less than if you pay the parking attendant's fee. *Find your place to park, go to elevator, remember your level, push "1" to get to the lobby floor, upon exiting elevator make 2-3 left turns until you see the open door advertising "Foreign Currency Express" and voila!, you're in! When I googled the currency exchange rate (same day) for the Peruvian sole, it said it was worth $0.39 USD. At FCX I got $0.36 USD per sole. When I googled the British pound exchange rate it was worth $1.62 USD, but at FCX I got $1.50. So they're off by at least a couple percent, but that being said there was no wait and I would do business there again because the lady who helped me was nice. I found this place on Yelp after realizing exchanging my money at the bank was a rip off. I needed Euros for my upcoming trip to Spain and didn't want to deal with the hassle of exchanging it there since this is my first trip to Europe. I have to say the customer service was very impressive. They were very detailed in giving me directions to the location as well as specific parking instructions. The rates are competitive (best rates from what I found from the IE to LA). Only downside is that it's in downtown LA but thankfully I have a friend that lives locally and was willing to make the run for me. I would definitely consider using this business again! read more

Came here last minute to make an exchange for Pesos. I parked in the lot downstairs and took the elevator to the first floor. The office is near the elevator so it was convenient. Very friendly service and they have listed their prices by the door, so it is convenient. They give you parking validation so you only pay them $2 and they give you the appropriate validation so you won't pay $15 downstairs. For that reason, I gave it 4 stars: parking can be an issue. read more

I called this place to check rates for the exchange for ¥, the woman over the phone quoted me ¥ 0.77 to $1 USD, no fees, no charge. I checked the market and the rate was ¥0.78 to $1 (about 2% difference). But when I arrived at the office a few hours later, the rate was ¥0.76 to $1! (which was closer to 3% difference) For a 3% difference, I would rather just save myself the drive to downtown and 4 bux for parking and just get my foreign currency at the ATM at the airport. My bank charges $5 plus 3% fee, which in my opinion is wayyyyy more convenient. Plus I don't have to hold a wad of cash around DTLA. read more

I love this place. Straight in-straight out. I've never had to stay more than five minutes...if even that much. Yes, parking is kind of lame but I always get my friend to drop me off, drive around the block, and come back to get me. XD What someone did tell me is that the lady will validate your parking for $2. Word of warning: common sense will tell us that even though they do not have fees and all that, they do not give you the exact exchange rate you would see off xe.com. There is also the usual "selling currency is cheaper than buying back" logic. (I bought Australian currency for .87 when it was technically .85 and sold it back to them at .85 when the rate was .92). I came here looking to exchange some US dollars for Jamaican Dollars (JMD). They actually had some JMDs which was great. The lady said they do not normally have it so like other reviews, you should call ahead if you need a currency that is not exchanged as often as the majors. The Reuters quote was about 88.8 JMD and I exchanged it at 80. I wouldn't expect to get the Reuters quote but I do not know if exchanging at 10% less than the current exchange traded prices is good or not. This place was so convenient and I was only exchanging 100 bucks that I did not bother to seek out banks prices. I would definitely go here since it's more convenient than a bank to exchange small amounts of cash. For large amounts, I would call around, but who knows, this place might beat the banks. read more

Their rates seem to be better than Bank of America, but not as good as using your foreign debit card at an ATM machine. Online quote took a little while, but glad I waited! It was a factor of 2-to-3 better than another 3 places I got quotes from. By which I mean, the percentage charged relative to xe.com's value. For those not sure where it is, it's where the World Trade Center Parking is at but there's a specific elevator that only has 2 floors by the bus stop signs and once you're up the elevator you'll see a bridal store and security desk. read more

You want to avoid driving through rush hour because DTLA is horrible during rush hour. First time walking in, you'll need to look around for the place.
