Parking here was easy, since you park in the world trade center parking lot and they validate. Just take the elevator up to the first floor and make two lefts to find their little office. The exchange rates was great for yens, which is why I came here in the first place for an upcoming trip to Japan. It was a very quick transaction, and I paid by cash. I researched MANY currency exchange places, this one without question had the best rate! No fees or commissions! Professional and courteous as well! I almost let myself get robbed blind by the currency exchange at the airports (both in Japan and at LAX), but I'm SO GLAD I held on to my Yen and traded it here! If you need to change money there is nowhere else you should go in Los Angeles. It's worth the drive even if Foreign Currency Express isn't close for you. Their exchange rate is always at least 3 cents lower than everywhere else. It's super convenient and quick to change money. And they know so much about travel and the needs of travelers. I'm going to Havana, Cuba next month. None of the travel books told me that Cubans will not exchange any Euros that contain any kind of markings. But Foreign Currency Express had a note on the counter to let them know if you're going to Cuba. They dug through bills to make sure that I had only brand new, clean, unmarked bills to ensure I wouldn't have any trouble with the conversion process once I got to Havana. Great prices! You can message them ahead of time through Yelp. They are very responsive and will tell you the exchange rate. Also very important- Parking is validated for 12min! Which is all you need. They even have a parking space reserved for 15min near the elevator on Level C. read more

They validate for parking as well. I have never written a review on yelp before, but my experience at Foreign Currency Express has moved me to post. What could have easily been a 1 star review was transformed into a 5-spot by some good old fashion faith in humanity. I needed to get a few hundred euros for an upcoming trip. I read the reviews on FCE, and it sounded like I'd get a good rate there, so I headed downtown, traded in some dollars, and went home with a bunch of Euros. Except I didn't just get Euros. Sandwiched amongst my 50 Euro notes was a 50 Shilling bill from KENY! It was the exact same size as the 50 Euro bill, and had similar coloration. I totally didn't see it when I counted my money at FCE. I was pissed! And I got even pissed-er when I looked up how much 50 Kenyan shillings are worth - 60 American cents. As compared to $65 for a 50 Euro bill. I was hosed. I immediately called FCE, and the woman who did my transaction told me it was impossible that she gave me the Kenyan Shillings - "We don't have that money here." I tried to explain that it didn't matter if she thought they didn't have them - THEY HAD THEM! And I got one. But she told me that once you leave the counter, all sales are final. There was nothing she could do. I was crazy mad by now, but I figured there was nothing I could do - I'd just have to eat the loss, and suck it up. I guess I should have examined every single bill at the counter. I resigned myself to my stupid fate. But my wife was even more angry than I was, and she insisted I go back and get my money. I was very un-optimistic about this happening, but I drove back downtown. The same woman was at the counter (I'm sorry I didn't get her name!) I showed her the Kenyan Shillings, and how similar the bill looked to the 50 Euro bills. She continued to protest saying that they don't deal with that currency there, so there was no way she could have been the one who gave me that bill. I pleaded with her, and tried to use reason, but I wasn't having any luck. But finally, I guess she realized that it was possible a mistake had been made - she conceded that the bills did look similar. She asked me to "swear" that I was telling the truth, which I did. Then she told me that she believed me - "I just needed to see your face and see that you were an honest person." She gave me the 50 Euro bill, and apologized for the mistake. I'm embarrassed to say I kind of teared up a little - humanity beat out business. Justice was done. It was only $65, but I was still so grateful. Thank you, lady at FCE whose name I don't know. I told the truth, and you believed me. It's nice when things work out. read more

Well, I heard rave reviews on Yelp, so I decided to give it a try when I had to turn 1000 Canadian into US dollars; I was in the neighborhood anyway. They gave me a rate of .98 USD for each canadian dollar (the official exchange rate was 1.03 USD for each canadian dollar). I then went to the bank and deposited it and asked what their exchange rate was; it was .975. So I saved five dollars, minus the two dollars parking, so three dollars for the extra trip. I guess I can't fault the service, but not really worth the time in my book. read more
